All of the products offered for sale at Only Natural Pet Store are of the highest quality and made of natural ingredients.  We do not offer products that contain substances that could be considered dangerous, carcinogenic, unhealthy, or harmful to the environment.  We have a rigorous screening process for selecting products that we offer for sale, and we work closely with our Veterinary Board of Advisors in this evaluation process and in formulating our own Only Natural Pet brand products. You can feel good about buying supplies for your animal companion at our store, because we only sell natural products that we would feel good about giving to our own pets.

Only Natural Pet Store takes our environment into account in everything that we do.  Our company is 100% powered by wind energy. Our packaging aims to reduce waste, conserve valuable resources and benefit the environment. We reuse boxes and packing materials, and purchase only fully biodegradable, non-toxic packing peanuts made from cornstarch.  We are working to become a Zero Waste company, which means that we strive to prevent waste, and reuse, recycle and compost as much as possible.  We additionally seek out manufacturing partners who share these values.  Only Natural Pet Store also calculates our organizations Carbon Footprint, which measures the impact human activities have on the environment in the amount of green house gases produced. This Footprint helps us to determine ways we can reduce carbon emissions.

Our Quality Standards

We pride ourselves on carrying products or brands that make use of natural, organic, hemp and free-range resources, and we support fair-trade and cruelty-free practices. Everything offered by Only Natural Pet Store is completely safe and non-toxic. We sell our own line of products that are guaranteed to your satisfaction and work with partners and companies who have the same level of integrity and commitment to cruelty-free and environmentally-conscious products.

In evaluating a new product we take great care to ensure that it is of the highest quality and upholds our standards as a company. For pet foods there are a variety of points we look for including the quality of the protein source, amount of grain by-products, and any artificial ingredients such as preservatives, colors or flavors. None of the foods we carry contain animal by-products, artificial colors, artificial flavors, fillers or chemical preservatives. Most are human grade with USDA approved meats. Many of our foods are grain-free or offer specific benefits for allergies, weight issues and other health conditions.

Why organic?

Organic foods and ingredients are not treated with and do not contain residues of toxic pesticides, thereby reducing the level of these harmful chemicals in the person or animal consuming the food. Fewer toxins to filter means less stress on the body. Organic products grown in cleaner, healthier soil contain higher levels of nutrients and generally taste better than their conventional counterparts.

Organic products do not require the application of pesticides or synthetic fertilizers, which leach into the soil and runoff into waterways, ultimately damaging the environment and wildlife. Human and animal health is reliant on the health of the surrounding natural environment and the organic production process is built around principles of ecological sustainability.

Organic foods are free of genetically-engineered (GE) ingredients. In the US, conventional foods do not require labeling that indicates whether the product contains GE ingredients. Organics, by definition, are GE free. With the passage of the USDA organic standards, consumers can be assured producers follow earth-friendly cultivation and grazing practices. Many people choose organic foods as a way of showing their support for responsible business, strong communities, and local farmers.

Why Hemp?

Industrial hemp is an incredibly useful resource that is good for the environment. The sturdy plant requires very little water and no irrigation, no pesticides or herbicides and actually absorbs contaminants in the soil. With a relatively short growth cycle of 120 days, it is an efficient and economical crop for farmers to grow, is often grown organically and does not leave the soil depleted of nutrients for future crops. Hemp fabrics are warm, soft, absorbent and breathable and last longer than fabrics made from traditional cotton.

Why Free-Range?

The mass-produced meat you find in lower quality pet products typically comes from animals raised in cramped quarters. The stress this causes predisposes these animals to disease which has lead to the overuse of antibiotics and hormones. The feed for these conventionally raised animals also contains antibiotics as well as chemical pesticide residues. Free-range animals, however, provide cleaner and healthier sources of meat. In many cases, these animals have unrestricted outdoor access with plenty of room to roam. Free-range animals typically eat a natural diet without added hormones and antibiotics.

Why Cruelty-Free?

The cruelty-free movement aims to avoid all the products that cause unnecessary cruelty to animals. According to the requirements of People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA), cruelty-free ensures companies do not conduct or commission any non-required animal tests on ingredients, formulations, or finished products and that they pledge not do so in the future. The products we carry are not tested on animals.

Why Fair Trade?

Fair trade is an international movement that aims at promoting labor, environmental and social standards for the production of traded goods and services. Fair trade directly links low-income producers with consumer markets and educates consumers about the importance of purchasing fairly traded products which support living wages and safe and healthy conditions for workers in the developing world. The focus is on recognizing and purchasing exports from developing countries in order to stimulate their economy and offer the possibility of sustainable living.
