Ark Naturals Royal Coat Provides your pets with an excellent, all-natural source of EFAs (essential fatty acids) they need to maintain healthy skin and shiny coats. Royal Coat provides your pet with the necessary supplemental amounts of Omega-6 (Borage Oil) and Omega-3 (Fish Oil) missing from Commercial pet foods that help to maintain a shiny, healthy coat. This product also helps to resolve canine and feline skin disorders including: seborrhea, pruritis, allergic itching, dry skin, hot spots and rashes. Use Royal Coat with any Ark wellness products to maximize your pet's nutritional health.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does veterinary research say?

  • Veterinary research throughout the world has shown that only oils which provide GLA, EPA and DHA are of significant help solving canine and feline skin and coat disorders. A combination of fish oil and evening primrose or borage oil has shown to be the most beneficial. Common vegetables oils such as oil, sesame, soy and flax seed oil are so ineffective they are sometimes used as placebos in controlled studies.

What are the sources of GLA, EPA and DHA?

  • Fish Oil: = n3 derivatives of DHA and EPA. Sources of DHA and DPA are fatty fish from cold waters. Borage Oil = n6 derivatives of GLA. Sources of GLA are evening primrose, borage, hemp seed and black currant seed oil.

Do commercially prepared pet foods contain enough Omega 3 & 6's?

  • No. Because the EFAs especially the n3 family are very perishable. EFAs are destroyed by heating, processing and moderate to high temperature cooking. They also turn rancid relatively rapidly and cannot be used in satisfactory amounts in pet and human foods which are designed to sit on the grocery or cabinet shelf for months unrefrigerated.

What should I know about the ingredients?

  • Borage Oil (Omega 6) = Linoleic Acid (LA) n-6 derivatives are gamma linolenic acid (GLA) and arachidonic acid (AA) Fish Oil (Omega 3) = alpha linolenic acid (ALA) n3 derivatives of ALA are DHA and EPA.

Available in 8 oz liquid.

Comments about Ark Naturals Royal Coat:

My cats wouldn't willingly ingest Royal Coat at first either - so what I do is I just pour a little on their coat each day - or dip their paws in it. Since cats will ALWAYS lick it off, they've been adminstered their dose every day since I received it. I saw results after about 2 weeks. I have 2 indoor cats - each over 8 yrs old, and they started losing fur on their hind legs and bellies. One had chewed her ankles raw. Since they don't have fleas, I didn't know what to do. I now see peach fuzz growing in on both cats, and no more sore spots - and the one who has always had dandruff no longer does at all. Plus, by putting it on them to lick off, the immediate result was shiny, healthy coats. I'm very happy with it, and have already recommended it to everyone who would listen. Good stuff ! :)

Comments about Ark Naturals Royal Coat:

The idea and facts behind the product seem great! But my cat will not willingly eat it, and certainly will not lick it off a spoon! If I mix it in his wet food, he snubs the food and it dries up. If I mix it with his dry food, he will eat a portion of it but only if he gets really hungry. He eats organic catfood, so maybe his food tastes so much better than commercial catfood that even fish oil isn't tempting? I can not figure it out. I wish he would eat it, his skin gets dry with seasonal allergies. Good luck with your pets!

Comments about Ark Naturals Royal Coat:

Ever since I adopted my little Angel a few months ago, I've wanted to get rid of her overly flaky coat and large amount of shedding. My vet first prescribed the standard fatty acid capsules. They were too large to administer by themselves and with pill pockets. Squeezing the liquid into Angel's wet food was out of the question as well, as she is EXTREMELY picky when it comes to supplementing her food with vitamins, medicines, etc. and refused to touch her dinner if it had the liquid in it. Exasperated, I purchased Ark Naturals Royal Coat and crossed my fingers, hoping she wouldn't reject it. Success! Angel actually seems to like her wet food even more with Royal Coat mixed in it. I am happy to report that, after only two weeks of use, much of her dandruff has disappeared, her coat is really beautiful and shiny, and she sheds a lot less these days. Excellent product!

Comments about Ark Naturals Royal Coat:

My Shetland Sheepdog diagnosed with a thyroid problem and had no undercoat about 2 years ago. She had dry, flaky skin and hotspots. After using Royal Coat Express her undercoat came back almost 75% and skin is no longer dry and flaky. I recommend this product 100%. Worked for my Sheltie.
