By diversifying a small portion of  carbohydrate structure they've actually lowered all carbohydrates, and increased overall meat content. The new formulations continue to reflect the most recent advances in pet nutrition. In addition to brown rice, they've diversified the complex carbohydrates in the formulas to include cracked pearl barley, rice bran, peas and millet for added flavor, nutritional value and easier digestion.
