An extra strength formula utilizing the natural anti-inflammatory properties found in MSM and Boswellia. Manganese supplementation has been shown to increase superoxide dismutase (SOD) activity. Nutritionally supports cats suffering from inflammation in tendons and muscles or pain associated with soft tissue damage, degenerative joint diseases or the aging process. 120 tablets.
Overview:
Cats have different sensitivities to drugs and herbs than dogs and may experience pain differently. This formula for cats was designed specifically to help alleviate inflammation of joint, tendons, and muscles in cats.
Although arthritis is common in geriatric cats, much of the pain is experienced in the connective tissues of the spine and in trigger points located in muscles and tendons.
Vitamin E in its natural form inhibits the breakdown of cartilage and is a powerful antioxidant and anti-inflammatory vitamin for joint and muscle pain. MSM works synergistically with Manganese to increase SOD anti-oxidant levels and has been proven clinically to improve function and to reduce pain and inflammation in human studies.
Boswellia works much like modern day NSAIDS but without the side effects. It can be used for prolonged periods of time without worry about gastric ulcerations or blood thinning. Boswellia has been documented as having an inhibitory effect on inflammation and also improves cartilage synthesis.
Cornus, a Chinese herb used for centuries, strengthens the liver and the kidneys, and increases energy and well being.
Vitamins B1 (thiamine), B6 (pyridoxine), and B3 (niacin) work in a synergistic blend with the strong anti-inflammatory properties of Chinese Licorice to assist in alleviating neuropathic based pain.

What to Expect:
Because this formula will be absorbed differently from cat to cat and condition to condition, relief of pain may be seen in 3-7 days for chronic conditions.
With post operative trauma cases and acute musculoskeletal problems, relief is within 36-72 hours.
If the pet is currently on other pain medication, such as NSAIDS, Torbutrol, or Cortisone, then those dosages can be reduced 40%-75% once the formula takes effect.
Contraindications
In some people and animals high doses of licorice can cause sodium retention and high blood pressure. Geriatric cats should be monitored frequently with blood chemistries. This formula has licorice added in small amounts to act synergistically with the other ingredients, without side effects.
Formulation and Ingredient Summary
Pain in a pet can be cause by inflammation in tendons and muscles, arthritis, soft tissue damage, or the aging process.
Lack of mobility, resistance to petting, and limping are just some of the signs that a pet may be in pain.
Hiding, sitting in the litter box, or pressing their forehead against objects are also symptoms of pain in a cat.
Acetaminophen should never be used for cats because of the cyanosis that results from the conversion of hemoglobin to methemoglobin.
The first goal of pain management is, whenever possible, to identify and eliminate the cause of pain.
Please keep in mind that response to herbal remedies varies by individual. If your pets symptoms worsen or change in any way that concerns you, discontinue use of any supplements and contact your veterinarian.
When introducing any new supplement, it is wise to start with a lower than recommended dose and build up over the course of several days to a week. Only introduce one supplement at a time.
