I've got a 6 month kitten that was diagnosed with a liver shunt, which I guess is rare for cats. Before prescription therapy from the vet, he was lethargic off and on and appetite was up and down. After prescription(stool softner and antibiotic to reduce ammonia caused by shunt), he was doing just okay. I beleive in alternative therapies, tried this product(i crush up and mix with tuna juice and feed by syringe to mouth). My little kitten now runs around all day long, this product really has given him his life back until he has surgery wich can run $3500. I beleive this product really does detoxify the blood just by seeing him improve: appetite sky high, he's gained weight, plays and sleeps like a healthy kitten. My 14 yr old Lab mix has to take daily prescription pain medication for knee pain. His liver enzymes had elevated extremely from the meds. I started him on Ecliptex to help his liver. At his 6 month vet visit the liver enzymes had decreased greatly after taking Ecliptex for 2 months. They were still above normal, but MUCH better. Other liver supplements I had used had not made a difference. I feel sure the Ecliptex has helped because that is the only thing different that he has taken in that time period.

Our 10 year old cat had mysteriously stopped eating. A trip to the vet told us her liver was basically shutting down. She was eventually sent home on steroids, an antibiotic, and another med. The vet planned on keeping her on the steroids long-term, but through research I found that they can damage the kidneys. Bupleurum root and milk thistle came up repeatedly when I looked for holistic remedies for liver ailments. Ecliptex has both of these, so I thought I would give it a try. Our cat was back acting like herself again very soon and I stopped the steroids. She's been taking Ecliptex for about a year and she has been doing great. I grind the tablets up and sprinkle them on her food, she doesn't find the taste a bit. We're still not sure what cause the liver problems, but I think this product has defintely helped her without any side effects.
