Brady (my Jack Russell) is VERY active and we weren't happy with the food we had been giving him. He wasn't crazy about it and his energy was low. Plus he had some minor allergies I think (licked his paws and some skin irritations) and I read that changing the food might help. The lady at a natural pet store in my area suggested Ultra and right away Brady went crazy for the taste. Not only that but he seems much healthier – no skin problems or licking, and his back to his bouncy self. We give this food five paws up!!

One of my dogs, an American Bulldog, is allergic to everything, and I put him on NB's Duck&Potato. Two weeks later, I switched my older dog, a rescue PitBull (that can usually eat almost any dogfood) on NB Ultra Premium. She had been going through a bout of GI distress from minor food poisoning from 2 days worth of questionable food that a store talked me into trying a bag of. While I was assembling the ingredients for some homebrew bland food, the NB Ultra Premium proved so gentle that she cleared up before I could even get the bland food ingredients purchased & cooked- maybe 2 days (I'm disabled & dont drive anymore).
So, along with that minor "miracle", I've been very impressed with the NB Ultra Premium on my older dog- improved coat, and improved digestion- NEVER any gas.
Then I ran out of the NB-Duck that my bulldog was on, and decided to try him out on the NB Ultra Premium. After a couple days of no signs of his skin problems resurfacing, I decided to keep him going on it. We're over a month in, and no skin reactions- and this is a dog that breaks out with almost any food, including the vet food that requires a prescription.
A few days ago a friend who is fostering 2 mini-dachshund pups, 6-7wks now, brought them to me to babysit while she went out of town on emergency. They were being fed an awful food with mystery meat byproduct. I had her pick up a bag of NB Ultra Small Bites. I've been slowly switching them over to the NB. No gas, better formed stools, less stinky stools.
Id have to say that in the 30yrs I've been breeding, training, and now just owning dogs- this is the BEST "all around" food available. My education background is in biology, and there are other foods that look better in their ingredient list- but I can't argue with success. I like the broad range of meat sources, which gives a wider range of micronutrients that we seldom think about when feeding our dogs the same food day after day- but that the deficits of can be the "invisible" causes of some health problems.
The only thing I really feel this food is missing is probiotics & prebiotics (FOS/Inulin). For that I use a little goatmilk yogurt, or soy yogurt when the store is out of the goat. For my dog w/ allergies I also add fish oil and a little cod liver oil every few days (beware the possibility of VitA toxicity when playing with Cod Liver Oil)

My dogs are like my kids and i want the best for them, and i feel that they are getting the best by feeding them Natural Balance. Since they are smaller breeds ( 3 Pekingese ), and ( 1 adopted Pekingese/Chihuahua) i feed them the small bites. All i can find in small bites is 12.5 lb. bag, so since i'm feeding 4 dogs i wish i could find the bigger bags in the small bites. I just switched from Beneful (very unhealthy) 2 months ago to Natural Balance, and i've noticed less itching, and a shiner coat. Also love how small the kibbles are as my dogs eat slower, and no more chocking.

I used to feed my dog Beneful with wet pedigree. He liked the taste but his stomach couldn't handle it. He has stomach ulcers so his stomach gets easily irritated. He would also throw up constantly eventhough he is on medication. I switched his food to Natural Balance a couple of months ago and his stomach does not get irritated anymore. He doesn't like the taste of it very much but it is very good for him. I just mix it with Natural wet dog food and he eats it.

Love the smaller size. Our dog doesn't feel the need to chew his food. These smaller bite pieces at least don't make him choke or throw up his food. We can also use them as little treats for tricks because they are small. Worth a try.

I have wanted to switch my chihuahuas to Natural Balance for awhile but my 3 year old chihuahua refused to eat it because the pieces were too big. When I saw that they now make the Small Bites, I immediately bought a bag to give it a try. Both my girls love it and eat it well. They've always had good coats so I can't tell if it improves the coat or not but I do notice less odor in the stool which is a wonderful thing!

I have been using this food for about 2 years now and my dog is in great shape.Her coat is so shiney it glistens.She is as solid as a rock.I have recommended this food to 8 other people and they tried it and couldn't believe the difference it made in their pets.They all still use it.I also feed my 4 cats and 6 ferrets the naturual balance cat food.I just can't say enough about these foods!!!!!!!!!!
