About Nature's Herbs for Pets

Nature's Herbs for Pets was started by Dr. Victor Tse, a 6th generation Traditional Chinese Medical Doctor. His grandfather, recognizing his grandson's interest in animals, passed down to him a number of his personal formulas. After emigrating to Canada in 1988, Dr. Tse spent 6 years adjusting the formulas so that Pets could be treated generically, without the need for a personal examination. The result was his production of a range of effective Chinese herbal remedies which can be used without any knowledge of Chinese Medicine.

Nature's Herbs for Pets has been dedicated to the holistic healing of cats and dogs for many many years.

Each envelope contains 90 pills.

Comments about Nature's Herbs for Pets Thyroid Calming:

Last winter my cat was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism. Using the medication that my vet prescribed, I went through every option in terms of getting it into him--cream in the ear, a special pill made up with the med in it, finally the little pills I could tuck in a pill pocket. His head got progressively more and more affected by the medication--he developed huge bloody, raw spots in front of his ears. I was desperate for something else.
When I found Nature's Herbs Thyroid calming pills--there was nothing to lose. My cat has now been on these pills for about 4 months. His head cleared up rapidly, and he looks and acts like his old self--and very happy. I use pill pockets to get them in him--they are little tasty treats with a space hide the pill. He chows them right down.
I plan to keep my cat on this medication indefinitely--we are on our second order. I have no idea if there's anything better, but this was a huge relief after the side effects of his other medication.
I highly recommend this product based on my expereince.

Comments about Nature's Herbs for Pets Thyroid Calming:

Let me start by saying I believe strongly in Chinese medicine, because it has helped me personally with my allergies and other health concerns. So when my 12 year old cat was diagnosed with mild hyperthyroidism, I wanted to try this formula rather than putting him on methimazole right away. I used this formula faithfully according to instructions for five months. After a few weeks, I saw a difference in my cat's symptoms: he was calmer, he yowled less, and his coat improved. However, after about four months of using this product, my cat's symptoms seemed to reassert themselves even more severely, which caused me to have him rechecked at the vet. His Thyroid Stimulating Hormone level had more than tripled while he was taking this product. My vet, who practices complementary medicine and is always open to using natural and Eastern approaches, was very concerned about my cat's heart rate, which was severely elevated, and recommended I discontinue use of the product. My cat is now on methimazole and his TSH is back down to a normal range. I regret that this product was ultimately ineffective for my kitty, and thus I can't recommend it. However, I would suggest that if you do use it, you do so under the supervision of a vet who practices Chinese medicine, so that it can work in concert with a complete program of Chinese treatment.

Comments about Nature's Herbs for Pets Thyroid Calming:

I noticed my 11 year old cat exhibiting signs of hyperthyroidism. Being a nurse I wanted to research holistic alternatives before starting her on a prescription medication. After extensive research I found this product and was anxious to try it. We have been giving her a pill once a day in the evening because she is a petite cat only weighing 8 lbs. and her symptoms have reduced greatly in our first month and a half of treatment. I will admit we have to fight with her to get the pill down but we know it's for her own good. She ate the pill pocket and spit out the pill. She can also "cheek" the pill and spit it out once I put her down if I don't watch her closely. I've tried crushing and putting it on food to no avail. This is a great product and we will continue to use despite the struggles in getting it into her.

Comments about Nature's Herbs for Pets Thyroid Calming:

While many reviews advised pulverizing the pills to mix in with the food, my cat refused to eat his favorite wet food when I did this, no matter how many other "goodies" I added to it. This made him lose more weight. In desperation I opened his mouth and put one pill in at a time then rubbed his throat. They went down easily, without protest. A much better approach.

had my cat on 2 different drugs... didn't like that so my holistic vet suggested chinese herbs.. I found this and he's been on it for two weeks... seems much calmer... not as skittish.. not wolfing tons of food..I give him raw now too...and he's become much more lovable. Rubs against me now and lets me pet him where before he ran away. I'll see how he does in a month for the final yay or nay!

Comments about Nature's Herbs for Pets Thyroid Calming:

My 14 year old cat developed a severe thyroid condition and we tried the prescription medication from the vet. Unfortunately the medication caused her major liver problems, so we took her off of it. We thought we would have to have the iodine radiation procedure (which costs around $1,300), but we tried this herbal treatment first. We had to increase the dose slightly to get the desired effect, but she is completely back to normal now. And using a garlic press to crush the pills and mix with a little canned food, it's very easy to give her. I was skeptical at first, but I'm a true believer in this stuff now. I highly recommend trying it if your cat has a thyroid condition and it's not much more expensive than the prescription medication the vet gave me.

Comments about Nature's Herbs for Pets Thyroid Calming:

My eldest cat is 19 years old and has hyper-thyroid for at least 3 years now. She's dropped from 16 lbs to 8 lbs in the past 3 years. I started her on Tapazole about 2 years ago but she has still lost weight and was lacking in her normal grooming. Since I started her on "Nature's Herbs for Pets Thyroid Calming" used in conjunction with her Tapazole prescription and some anti-oxidant supplement she has become a lot more active and gaining weight. She's gained about 1 lb since I started using "Nature's Herbs for Pets Thyroid Calming" about 6-8 weeks ago. She's a lot happier and looks so much better. A recent visit to the vet for blood work showed normal results across the board. A month earlier her blood work showed many levels to be way out of range. I add anti-oxidant supplement tabs and urinary support supplement tabs crushed and mixed with her food. Every day she gets 10 Mg of her Tapazole prescription, one in the morning and one in the evening along with 2 pills of "Nature's Herbs for Pets Thyroid Calming" in the evening. Sometimes I alternate and give only 5Mg of Tapazole and 4 pills "Nature's Herbs for Pets Thyroid Calming". I watch the color of her stool to make sure it's not too light or too dark. I find that it gets dark when I give 4 pills "Nature's Herbs for Pets Thyroid Calming" in conjunction with Tapazole for extended periods of time. If I reduce the Tapazole to 5Mg her stool will eventually start to look a little light. My preference is 10Mg Tapazole and 2 pills "Nature's Herbs for Pets Thyroid Calming" every day along with the Anti-Oxidant and Urinary support. Without the "Nature's Herbs for Pets Thyroid Calming" she will not gain weight. It's definitely made a huge difference. If you're not using Tapazole or any other prescriptiom meds then four pills "Nature's Herbs for Pets Thyroid Calming" as recommended would be the way to go.

Comments about Nature's Herbs for Pets Thyroid Calming:

My Baby was diagnosed last summer with hyperthyroidism and I still can't afford the best treatment (RIT) yet so in the meantime, I wanted to have her start meds. I'd much rather try a natural, homeopathic remedy than have her ingest manmade, synthetic drugs! So, she's halfway through her (first?) packet of these pills which I give her one a day to start and so far, no problems but they seem to work. She's not as grumpy and skittish as she was and she's back to drinking regular doses of water. She would go through a whole bowl a day before! The best way to administer the pills is in pill pockets which she LOVES so much that when she sees or hears me with the bag, she comes running and trying to take the pocket from me before it's ready! Hopefully, when she visits the vet next, she'll prove a marked improvement if not a cure for that awful disorder!!
