Comments about Nature's Variety Instinct Ultimate Protein Dry Cat Food:

I switched to this product after having poor results with Orijen. I've got two cats with food sensitivities and between the two of them I've now had to exclude foods with corn, wheat, legumes, and inulin. This may not sound like a very difficult list to follow until you start trying to find a food without beans in it. EVERYTHING has beans in it now. LOTS of beans. And what doesn't contain beans has corn or wheat or a TON of inulin in it. This food does contain chicory root, which is a natural source of inulin. The cats have never had trouble with chicory root like they did with pure inulin, probably because the inulin it contains is less concentrated. At least it doesn't contain legumes or corn/wheat as far as I can tell. Both cats are doing well on it; it is fairly high calorie so I've had to be stricter about portion sizes. I would also recommend doing a slow transition because both cats had some issues with diarrhea for a day or two when I first introduced it.
So, TLDR: Good food, concentrated and fairly expensive. Well tolerated by my sensitive cats. Worth a try, especially if you've tried everything else.
