The Anti-Lick Strip is composed of all natural ingredients except for the adhesive, which is of human medical grade (only the best for our pets). We care as much about our own pets as you care about yours!

Common Uses

Although there are many uses for the Anti-Lick Strip, a few of the most common are hot spots, lick granulomas, obsessive licking and chewing.

Your pet may lick for a number of reasons; the Anti-Lick Strip has been proven successful in a variety of situations. The mixture of natural ingredients eliminates the need to use head cones (Elizabethan collars) and bitter tasting sprays.

The moment you place the Anti-Lick Strip on your pet, he/she will be deterred from licking or biting the covered area. The Anti-Lick Strip is designed for use directly on your animal’s fur.

Anti-Lick Strips can also being used for training purposes. When places on household items such as furniture legs, your pet will be deterred from licking and chewing these areas. Many people have found that it's better to have Anti-Lick Strips around the house rather than risk damaged household items.

Available in Small (4" x 1.5") and Medium (5" x 1.5")

How to Use the Anti-Lick Strip

  1. Open the Anti-Lick Strip box or package and remove an alcohol wipe and an Anti-Lick Strip.
  2. Open the alcohol wipe and clean the intended area of use. (This is to ensure a secure bond between your pet's fur and the adhesive.) Let dry.
  3. Carefully open the Anti-Lick Strip and remove the bandage. Peel back the bandage to expose the adhesive.
  4. Apply the Anti-Lick Strip with the adhesive side facing your pet's fur. The Anti-Lick Strip is designed to fall off after a period of days.

Comments about Nurtured Pets Nurtured Pet Anti-Lick Strip Prevent for Pets:

Applied the strips to both dogs. One dog chewed it right off and the other dog kept it on for about two days. If I would have applied it continuously to my one dog he probably would have learned not to lick so much. I wish they were a bit larger and more durable.

My Golden neurotically nibbles and licks and chews at her paws and causes little infected irritations. We covered a raw bump she had made that wasn't clearing up and she wasn't leaving alone. She didn't pull off the bandage or chew it while it was on like she does with other bandages we have used. After I took the first application off, her wound was really much better. The bandages are a bit awkward to get on with the alcohol wipe and the couple we've used haven't completely stuck, but they stayed on enough as to be effective and stayed pretty much put for at least 4-5 days. I like them, they are effective for the problem we have had, but they are pretty expensive so we try to only use them for her worst skin problems.

          Prevents licking...for a short time

Comments about Nurtured Pets Nurtured Pet Anti-Lick Strip Prevent for Pets:

I thought this product looked like a really good idea, as we wanted to try something different to the e-collar. We wanted to deter our dog from licking a sore area on her leg which was still slightly inflamed due to a small wound she had received in the last couple of weeks.
The strips are adhesive and are coated with a combination of natural substances such as Paprika in order to deter the animal from licking.
Unfortunately our dog, Sophie, seemed to like the taste of it and removed the strip (along with some of her leg hair) after a couple of hours.
Be careful opening the packet that the strip comes in, as some of the powder comes out with it and if your face is close, then you could be sneezing for a while (like I was). I would recommed this product if you don't have a dog (or cat) that likes the taste of pepper!
