For dogs.

Surrounded by Atlantic, Pacific and Arctic oceans and home to vast freshwater rivers and lakes, Canada’s marine harvest is perfectly suited to the Orijen nutritional philosophy of high-protein, low-carbohydrate diets made with maximum inclusions of fresh regional ingredients. High-protein, low-carbohydrate and grain-free Orijen 6 Fish replicates the same rich balance of meats, fruits, vegetables and grasses that dogs would encounter in a wilderness setting, but with single-source protein from fish and single-source carbohydrate from potato.

Made with the highest possible inclusions of human-grade fish ingredients (70%) - including fresh Canadian salmon, northern lake whitefish, lake trout, walleye, freshwater cod and herring - Orijen 6 Fish is literally bursting with highly-palatable and highly-digestible fish proteins, low temperature cooked at 90C to preserve their natural goodness.

Grain-free and very low in carbohydrate, each Orijen 6 Fish kibble is gently infused with fresh (not rendered) marine-source omega-3 fatty acids that are rich in EPA and DHA to support peak conditioning.

Hand-harvested sea vegetables from Canada’s nutrient rich tidal range - including kelp, Irish moss, dulse and bladder wrack - are rich in essential B vitamins, contain 44 trace minerals including zinc, manganese, selenium, and provide a natural yet balanced source of usable iodine.

Mirroring the instinct of wild canines to forage for grasses and weeds for medicinal purposes, Orijen’s prairie-grown botanicals include chicory and licorice root, sweet fennel, calendula flowers and peppermint leaf to help protect the liver, tone the digestive tract and support a healthy immune response.

About Champion Petfoods, maker of Orijen

Unlike the marketing and multinational companies that sell (but don't actually make) today's commercial pet foods, Champion Petfoods stands apart as a family-owned and operated pet food maker with a 25 year tradition of quality. Champion's mission is to product world-class pet foods from fresh, regional ingredients.

Produced exclusively in their own award-winning facilities in Alberta, Canada, the Acana brand pet foods are sold in 45 countries and are certified by the Canadian Government to meet every known international pet food regulation or standard.

As a "boutique" producer, Champion doesn't use commodity ingredients from suppliers they don't know and will never meet. Instead, they focus upon world-class ingredients raised or fished within the region by people they know and trust, and that are delivered to their manufacturing facility fresh each day.

Comments about Orijen Grain-Free 6 Fresh Fish Dry Dog Food:

This is the only dry food my Golden will eat without a fuss or adding other flavorings. She loves it.I've tried many dry foods and some very expensive also but always gave it away because she would not eat it.The price is the only down side but she's worth every penny of the price if it makes her happy.
Love my Golden....

Comments about Orijen Grain-Free 6 Fresh Fish Dry Dog Food:

We live in an area where I can't get Orijen's dog food so I have to have it shipped in. The shipping is way too expensive but it's the only thing I can do. My puppy does so well on Origen's that I will keep buying it.

Comments about Orijen Grain-Free 6 Fresh Fish Dry Dog Food:

We have two boxers. Both have very sensitive stomachs, and it has been through trial and error I stumbled on to Orijen. They love it, it digests well without irritation, and their coats shine! It may be a little more costly, but worth every cent to me!

    Switched and Glad I DID!!

Comments about Orijen Grain-Free 6 Fresh Fish Dry Dog Food:

I switched from TOTW because my GSD was allergic to the chicken in it. Was using EVO previously(excellent, but don't know how it's going to be now that P&G owns the company), but Shiloh grew tired of eating it. So finally I have Orijen 6 fish and Orijen regional red. She has been on this for about 6 weeks. You would not believe her coat. Soft and Shiny. Her black saddle is so shiny it looks wet. She has energy like a puppy and she's 4 years old. She walks a minimum of 2 to 3 miles per day in the morning with my husband. I thought the food was expensive until I calculated the cost per meal is $.75. I gladly pay it because she is in excellent health. Her allergies are so controlled. I mix 1/2 of the 6 fish and 1/2 of the regional red. I even switch up the regional red and will use Acana grasslands. Since Acana is made by the same company I have no problems interchanging. We take very good care of our dog, why wouldn't I give her the best kibble on the market. Not just my opinion, but also the opinion of others since it's been voted dog food of the year for the last two years.

Comments about Orijen Grain-Free 6 Fresh Fish Dry Dog Food:

I have three dogs - two Standard Poodles, 12 years and 2 years and a 5 year old, 3-legged, rescue black Lab. On the Plus side, when they eat this food, their coats look better, their allergy/skin issues (especially the Lab) improve and existing hip issues are minimized. I've always fed high-quality foods but I've not experienced as many benefits with other foods as I have Orijen. My 12 year old Poodle and the Lab both suffer from hip/arthritis issues and I'm SURE the higher levels of good-quality fish oil in this food - along with other, additional supplements - is a huge help.

On the Negative side, however, I have also found that this food just takes a good bit of "doctoring" - I can't quite get them to eat it on their own. I regularly have to mix organic chicken, broth, veggies or something to get them interested. If I simply place it in their bowls, they sniff it and walk away. Overall, I wish they would eat this better but I appreciate the benefits when they do so, we'll keep trying!

Comments about Orijen Grain-Free 6 Fresh Fish Dry Dog Food:

After much research of trying to find a dry dog food that will manage my boxer's Inflammatory Bowel Disease, this was the only one that measured up to the challenge besides her eating raw meat patties (stella & chewies). Saved a ton of money too vs a raw meat diet. Within a few days of switching her over totally, she was having normal firm stools in the yard. And not to mention Orijen is made in Canada with extremely more stricter laws for manufacturing dog food than the US. It has also gotten rid of my Boxer's nasty allergies too. You would never know she's had IBD from birth and a rough first year of health when she was a puppy. She's now a healthy 2 and a half year old. The glucosamine is super on her hip dysplasia also.
