By nature, puppies are facultative carnivores - they thrive on a varied diet of meats with smaller amounts of fruits, vegetables and grasses. Biologically adapted to process proteins as an energy source, puppies need animal protein for healthy growth and building strong organs, skin and coat. Orijen Puppy is biologically appropriate for all breeds and sizes.

High in protein and low in carbohydrate, Orijen Puppy has a grain-free formula that replicates the same rich and diverse balance of meats, fruits, vegetables and grasses that puppies and young dogs would encounter in a wilderness setting.

Made with the highest inclusions of fresh grain-fed chicken and turkey, wild-caught northern whitefish, fresh whole eggs and salmon. Orijen is bursting with the protein-packed, veterinary-inspected meats (minimum 75%) that form a Biologically Appropriate diet, without any of the grains or carbohydrates that are inappropriate for your puppy.

In place of grains, Orijen Puppy contains a full compliment of regional fruits and vegetables including sweet and russet potatoes, black currants and sunflower from the prairie farms, apples and cranberries from the interior orchards, and sea vegetables from the pacific tidal range. While providing limited carbohydrate, these fruits and vegetables supply vitamins, macro and micro minerals and important protector nutrients in a natural, bioavailable form.

Fresh, unrendered chicken and fish oils provide a superior source of essential fatty acids that dogs cannot produce themselves (including DHA and EPA) and nutritionally support the development of cell membranes and immune systems as well as vibrant skin and hair coat, - your puppy's outer symbol of health and vitality.

Bridging the gap between good nutrition and total physical well-being, Orijen Puppy contains veterinarian selected botanicals that include psyllium and chicory root, dandelion, sweet fennel and peppermint leaf - all of which replicate the natural canine diet and help to soothe, nourish and tone the digestive tract, strengthen the liver and control insulin levels.

Comments about Orijen Grain-Free Puppy Dry Dog Food:

My pup has just switched to Orijen from another premium dry kibble and he absolutely loves it so far (we're about 2.5 weeks in). He was having soft stool issues with the other food, and while I was a bit apprehensive about the high protein level in Orijen possibly contributing to the problem, I was happily surprised to see his poos firm up after the switch. He's also been really energetic. I'm still working on finding the right feeding amount for him, but so far, its been a great food. I won't be feeding him anything but Orijen products for the foreseeable future.

Comments about Orijen Grain-Free Puppy Dry Dog Food:

I started my 6 month old pitbull pup on Orijen large breed dry food a few weeks ago and her coat is shinier and more healthy looking. She loves this food! We had her on a food made for bully breeds before this and after long hard consideration i figured i'ld give Orijen a try. I just didn't like the way her coat looked on the other stuff, had some issues with 2 of the bags of food from the other company, and she was putting on too much fat. Since the switch she has dropped about 5 pounds and put on muscle. You can really see the definition in her legs and chest. She is not overly wired like she was on the other stuff. She is still very active, doesn't look sick any more, and is now a big ball of fur and muscle! The only things i don't like are the price of the food and i wish the fat content was 1% - 2% lower. But like i said she is dropping fat and putting on muscle so can't argue with that. I can deal with the price as long as my dogs are happy and healthy. Also the food does taste good. I try my dogs food before they eat it. I'm not going to feed my dog anything i don't like. It tastes like fish but a little harder than most kibble. The only thing better than this food is a raw diet. This is the best option for someone who doesn't have time to prep for feedings.

Comments about Orijen Grain-Free Puppy Dry Dog Food:

We had our pets on Blue for years. We added to our family a Collie pup. Percy didn't eat much of B. He had horrid gas for such a little guy, he cleared a room on a # of occasions along with major stomach issues. We went from Science Diet (breeder) to Marricks then back to Blue. Working with our vet the whole time. Nothing would do. So, found Orijen in a specialty pet store. We tried the slow switch. He picked out the Orijen and left the other on day one. The next day, placed a bowl of Orijen and he ate the entire meal. By day three, no gas at all and No stomach issues. He's been on it for a week now. My home smells great again and pets happy. My Persians loves his food as well. We will be switching them to Orijen as well. Thanks for a great product!

My 5 months old German Shepherd Puppy was started on Orijen by the breeder I got him from.
The food is great, but a bit costly and hard to find at the stores. I tried to switch him to other holistic foods, but he was having digestive problems with them, so I decided to stick to Orijen for now.

My Rottweiller had diarrhea from the day I picked her up at 8 weeks old. I tried quite a few highend brands of puppy (dog) dry food. My hairstylist told me to buy this. Her diarrhea cleared up within one week and 5 months later, still no diarrhea, no gasy belly. I love it and so does she! I highly recommend this dog food...
