We adopted a cat who was eating grocery store cat food. I thought it would be hard to switch her to a better food since her old owner said she "only ate this kind of food in this particular variety". I didn't expect much when I gave Kitty some Solid Gold in with her grocery store food, but she ate some the first day. She kept eating it with her old food, and when I offered her side by side bowls, one with Solid Gold and one with her old food, she ate about twice as much Solid Gold as she did the old food. Apparently she loves the taste. It hasn't been long enough to see the difference in her coat, but I feel better knowing that she is getting some good real protein and other healthy things in her diet because she is eating mostly Solid Gold. Our dogs eat the Solid Gold Wolf King food, and that is why we chose to give Kitty the Katz-und-Flocken. I think it was a good choice.

We have been using this food exclusively with our cats for a few months now. We had immediate good results with the health of our cats. Our cat who has food allergies and was on expensive prescription food before has been doing very well and has had no recurrence of skin conditions that she often gets. Even after some time, our cats still get excited to eat every meal. In the past we have had to add other foods in with food we have used to keep our cats eating, but Solid Gold needs no additions and they continue to love it. Our only problem has been a stinky litterbox, but it is not really very bad and the benefits are definitly worth using this food.

Our 3 cats all had bad reactions to the food they were on before this, so we were just hoping they would get back to normal. We got better than we expected! Our cat with an allergy problem recovered and has had no more sores, hair loss, or vomiting! Our older cat has never been playful since we got her from the shelter over 5 years ago, and is now playing like a kitten. Our big male now has a nice coat and leaves a much less stinky litterbox. We are thrilled with the results!

In the mid-eighties, I had a dog and a cat, both with terrible allergies and yeast infections, although I fed them so-called excellent, organic foods.

With a houseful of 8 kitties (yes 8) finding a food for kittens and adult cats was difficult ! No more ! Solid Gold is a huge hit, all kitties are healthy, no more throwing up food, they all wait for me to feed them in the morning. Cost a little more but well worth not having to make vet visits for urinary tract problems anymore ! Just one con, wish it came in a HUGE bag !!!

I give my cats a mix of several different foods, and this is one that is in regularly in the rotation. It has a pretty good ingredient list and is low in calories. The calorie content stated on this site is incorrect. According to the manufacturer, there are 323 cal/cup, this site states 485 cal/cup (hopefully, they fix that soon). Paying attention to calories is important for weight control, so anyone who is looking for a low cal, good quality food, here it is!

I got a new Siamese cross a few months ago from the Humane society and was shopping around for a high quality cat food. This cat is the pickiest eater of all the pets I've owned. I brought the new food home, mixed it in with the old food and she only ate the Solid Gold. I had to throw out the old food.

Her overall health has improved in a matter of days and has become more active as a result of this food. If there is one con to this it's the amount shes eats. She not a fat cat but she consumes a 4lb bag in less than a month. Your cat will thank you.

My cat loves it. I measure out the food, but my cat seems to be gaining weight since the switch (he's been eating it for about a month). I'm considering switching to something else. Also, his stool is looser than normal and stinks.
