One of my elder 14 yr old neutured male persian cats was diagnosed with the early stages of Renal Disease. No side effects seen. Is improving his situation steadily. I will definitely order this again. The pill is a little large, but I soften it in a small cup of hot water and add it to his wet catfood.

This is a great product---my cat has been on it ever since he was diagnosed with early-staged kidney failure 4 years ago,and he is now only in a slightly worse condition than he was back then,according to the results of his twice-yearly check-ups. I've used this product for my older (now deceased) cat and more recently for my "younger" (age 16) cat with renal disease. I worked out a trick for giving them pills and capsules. I coat the pills, especially the tip, with a very thin amount of feline pill pocket. Then lick the pill (disgusting I know) to get it slick and then open her mouth and put it right down the middle of her throat like a bullet. It slides down and she's pilled before she even knows it.

The Renal Essentials have helped my cat who was diagnosed as in the early stages of kidney disease. I had consulted a holistic vet who told me often it isn't shut down of the kidneys at this phase but a lack of circulation - which is treatable. My cat is feeling much better and no longer has that "kidney failure" smell coming out of her mouth. The downside - she hates the pills and won't eat them. I have to place them in water over night and administer by shooting the liquid into her mouth. Not fun for either of us. The only reason I'm giving a 4 instead of a 5 is because of this.

I am using this along with something else and between the two seems to be helping my 16 yr old cat who is starting to have some kidney issues. I find with the combination of this and the other product it has seemed to help her cut down on her water intake along with her energy level, she also seems happier.

I have a 17 year old male cat with kidney problems. The vet says there is no cure. I started using renal essentials about a year ago and the problem has stabilized, much to the surprise of my vet and myself. I attribute this to renal essentials. I will continue to use this product as kidney problems are common in older cats. The only drawback is that the tablets are rather large. I crush them up and mash them into the prescription wet food recommended by my vet. This is easy if your cat likes wet food. If not, then I suggest crushing it up and mixing with water and using a syringe to administer.

In September my 14 yr old siamese was getting sick alot so I got bood work done and she had a blood creatine of 2.9 and BUN of 38 which meant renal failure. I immediatly researched this and put her on Renal Essentials for cats, Golden Book tea Pills and Salmon Oil also K/D low protein food. Every day we did this. New blood work done 9 months later showed a creatine of 2.0 and BUN of 30 and great labs!!!! Thanks so much!

This product is keeping Scooter alive and well. It is easily administered twice daily when crushed up and added to his tuna. There is no reluctance on his part to eat the mixture of this and his vitamin supplement as well.
