My dog was diagnosed with chronic kidney failure and placed on a low-protein diet. She ate the dry low-protein formula at first, but eventually, the toxins in her system caused a reduction of appetite and I found the need to mix in other things to entice my dog to eat. I discovered the Wellness Senior on clearance at my local pet store because they were no longer carrying the product. My dog loves it mixed with her low-protein prescription food. In fact, mixing in the Wellness Senior is the ONLY way I can get her to eat. Sometimes when she is feeling really nauseous, I give ner ONLY the Wellness Senior and I feel confident enough to do so because it is also low in protein. My 14 year old needs low protein due to a kidney stone and wasn't eating ANYTHING I tried. I tried this product and am reducing the protein even more by mixing it with pasta (orzo) cooked in low sodium chicken broth. She's "wolfin'" it down and is back to her spry old self!

I have two senior dogs, one Pug, one Yorkie. They each have had tooth extractions which leaves them both with few teeth left. My Yorkie also has allergies that leave her coat thin. I've searched high and low for a canned dog food that both dogs can eat and enjoy and is all natural. But frankly, the best feature of Wellness for Seniors is that it comes in 6oz cans. My Keeshond is 11 yrs old and has had many advserse ereactions to a variety of foods...I have him on this plus I mix it with the Wellness dry for Sr,'s plus a variety of vitamins...he loves it and he's a is picky eater!

I reccomend this for your older dogs-its a lean product full of the ingredients they need.

Since my dogs are getting older 10 and 11 their stomachs seem to be more sensitive. They can't tolerate the wheat and corn anymore. I wish this product came in a low cal version. In the winter they don't go out for very long. In the summer they play outside and burn off some pounds. It was very easy to change them to this brand of food. No having to get them used to it.

Have 3 doxies.Older male loves his food and is overweight. Have used this for a month and he lost 2lbs! Have to share with younger ones since they love the smell and want what he is having. They had urinary problems with other foods and tend to run overweight too. They are also picky eaters unlike the older one. Now they gulp it down. Shiny coats. Lots of energy.
