I originally found this stuff at the pet store in my neighborhood in Chicago. My chihuahua's teeth were so white that the owners of the store would stop me when I came in to show other customers her teeth. I had stopped using it for a couple of years and my dog's last vet visit elicited a plaque warning. I can't say enough good things about this product. I have two miniature poodles, but can only use it for one as the other is very allergic to dairy products. This product is made of powdered cheese with additional cheese enzymes. These enzymes are the same ones in the CET pet toothpastes. It is known that eating cheese helps control dental bacteria in humans. Anyway, rather than sprinkling it on my dog's food, I make a paste and brush his teeth with it. I also put this paste on a "Dental Kong" or "Nylabone" gummy bone. In this way, the active enzymes have a more effective interaction with the teeth (vs. diluting them in the food). You can make a paste with water or plain yogurt. The product will fizz when mixed with yogurt (peroxide producing enzymes). The yogurt adds acidity and additional enzymes which will give your dog bright white teeth with regular use. I have tried almost every dog dental product on the market and I use an assortment of them for my dogs. My top favorite products are: DentaTreat (for dogs not allergic to dairy); PetzLife salmon flavored gel; CET toothpaste; Merrick "Phat Flossies" beef tendon chews; and "Dental Kongs".

I have an older dog with lots of plaque, this powder cleaned her teeth and got rid of the redness of her gums. All I did was sprinkle it on her food daily. She loved it, too.
