Why Rescue Remedy Pet?

Recent research shows that upwards of 10.7 million pets in the United States suffer from separation anxiety, resulting in inappropriate, unwanted behaviors. While the trend toward the use of pharmaceutical drugs to deal with animals' separation anxiety and other complex stress-related emotions is on the rise, many pet owners are turning to all-natural alternative solutions, including Rescue Remedy Pet. This new variation of the original stress relieving remedy available for more than 70 years contains a blend of the same five flower remedies found in Pet Rescue Remedy in an alcohol free formula, ideal for sensitive pets.

The five remedies in Rescue Remedy are

  • Impatiens - For those who act and think quickly, and have no patience for what they see as the slowness of others. They often prefer to work alone. Teaches empathy and understanding of and patience with others. It can be very fast-acting in alleviating an impatient attitude, and in lowering stress.
  • Star of Bethlehem - For trauma and shock, whether experienced recently or in the past. Teaches the ability to recover from traumas and to integrate them into the present life.
  • Cherry Plum - For those who fear losing control of their thoughts and actions and doing things they know are bad for them or which they consider wrong. Teaches trust in one's spontaneous wisdom and the courage to follow one's path.
  • Rock Rose - For situations in which one experiences panic or terror.
  • Clematis - For those who find their lives unhappy and withdraw into fantasy worlds. They are ungrounded and indifferent to the details of everyday life. Teaches one to establish a bridge between the physical world and the world of ideas; may foster great creativity. Is also used to bring clarity and alertness to the present moment.

Comments about Bach Flower Essences Bach Rescue Remedy Flower Essences:

My dog has been a nervous wreck for the past few days - especially today due to some neighbors making loud noises that sound like firecrackers. My dog does not like fireworks or thunderstorms. She can't stand any noises that sound like guns (even if it is a car backfiring). She is a rescue dog that we adopted 2 years ago from a foster family. I was at wits end because she would follow me around shaking so violently and would, literally, be right in my way of where I was walking or sitting. I would pet her and tell her it was "OK" which only made her shake worse. Finally, as I thought about trying Benadryl, I thought, "There has to be something that would work without doping her up." I put her jacket on her since she likes pressure but it still didn't work that well. Then, I remembered I had some Bach's Rescue Remedy for humans and decided to try it after seeing that the ingredients and strength were the same as the pet formula. I sprayed some on her tongue and then proceeded to spray some on each ear and rubbed it in (which she LOVED!). About 2 minutes later, she fell asleep - which actually made me nervous since it was such a radical transformation - I thought something was wrong (I sprayed some RR on my tongue, too!). As I write this, she is laying on the floor - still alert - and totally relaxed. She is between sleeping and alert but no longer shaking. I don't know what it is about this product, but there is something to be said for a product that works so quickly - LOVE IT! I will definitely be using it again!

I have a little terrier mix. He can get really wound up at times. I put a few drops of this in the pet water. He likes the taste and drinks a bit more water than usual, but it does take him down a notch or two in energy. If he's really wound up, I put a couple of drops on a treat for faster action. Don't expect it to work like sedation. It's a natural calming effect, but when the animal is terrified, it probably won't be much help.

We adopted our new cat Callie 3 months ago from a rescue org. She is a sweet 5 year old calico but suffers from severe anxiety. I was told about Bach rescue remedy by my friend and decided to try it since I did not want to put her on heavy medication. She is MUCH calmer! I was not sure if it was working or she was finally getting use to her new home. I took her off of it for one day and I will NEVER do that again. She could not sleep was pacing and crying. The minute I put her back in it she was back to being calm. This REALLY works!!

I love Rescue Remedy. I've been using it for myself and for my dogs and cats for years and years. I can't say enough good stuff about it. Calms anxiety in me and in any of my pets who need it for whatever reason--thunderstorms, fireworks, vet visit, long car trip etc. It works, it's natural, no side-effects, easy to administer--what more could one want. I'm just a huge fan. I really try to avoid heavy-duty medications for my furry family members whenever possible so I look for natural remedies. So glad my best friend found this. I even carry a bottle in my purse. I'm a therapist and have recommended it to clients who experience anxiety. It's a terrific first step. If it doesn't work, we can move on to an Rx. But so many people have found it helpful for themselves, as well as their dogs and cats.

I adopted my Schnauzer mix from the Humane Society a few months ago. He's 2 1/2 years old, approximately 32 pounds, and full of energy. He barks at unknown noises and strangers whom we encounter on our daily walks or who walk by the house when he's looking out of the window. I mean, he REALLY barks! At first I tried the recommended four drops with no results. Then I doubled the amount and still had no results. Perhaps he's just too high strung for this mixture. I did notice that it contains over 25% alcohol. Maybe I'll take it for our daily walks instead! :o)
