These grain-free dry diets are high in meat protein and low in carbohydrates, which is ideally suited to dogs' ancestry and biology as natural carnivores. Since dogs instinctively crave raw meat, they will choose it over grain when given a choice. Nature's Variety Instinct, with its high concentration of animal protein, is consistent with the instinctive canine metabolism.

A rotational diet consisting of more meat and less grain fosters biologically appropriate weight control, and lean feeding leads to longer life. The natural results of higher quality nutrition include better skin and coat, healthier teeth and gums, increased energy, and less backyard clean-up.

  • Grain-free
  • Over 90% of the protein is from real meats
  • Exclusive freeze dried raw Bio-Coating
  • Complete and balanced for all life stages
  • Guaranteed to improve skin and coat!

Ingredient Benefits

The proteins in Nature's Variety Raw Instinct diets are derived from meat - primarily high quality chicken meal and menhaden fish meal. Highly digestible tapioca binds the other high quality ingredients together into a kibble. Nature's Variety uses tapioca because it is grain-free and gluten-free. This assures you that the proteins found in Raw Instinct pet diets are primarily derived from meat.

Pumpkinseeds provide linoleic acid for skin and coat, Omega 3 & 6 fatty acids, and are a natural source of fiber. Vegetable seeds, such as pumpkinseeds, are one of the densest sources of nutrition available. Alfalfa has unique nutritional benefits; its root system often penetrates the soil more than 20 feet deep, seeking out minierals in the subsoil not accessible to other plants. Chelated Minerals are added to aid absorption in the digestive tract. ("Chelated" means firmly attached, usually to an amino acid or other organic component.) Montmorillonite clay is an additional source of trace minerals and has been shown to sequester toxins. Fruits and vegetables are also added as natural sources of important vitamins.

These high quality, wholesome ingredients are blended together with care to meet your pet's raw instinct for a grain-free, nutrient dense diet.

Feeding Guidelines

Sudden changes in diet can sometimes result in digestive disturbances. Do not overfeed regardless of the pets acceptance and eagerness. Overfeeding is the most common cause of digestive upset. Always introduce any new diet over a period of days, mixing with the present diet. Keep fresh water available at all times and offer plenty of exercise.

Comments about Nature's Variety Grain-Free Instinct Dry Dog Food:

All of our cockers eat this. It improved their skin, coat and over all energy level. They produce less stool, and with multiple dogs, that in and of itself is a bonus. We are particularly pleased that the ingredients include most of the recommended sources for anti-oxidants, which have many beneficial effects, particularly on eyes.

Comments about Nature's Variety Grain-Free Instinct Dry Dog Food:

Natures Variety Rabbit kibble is hands down the BEST dog food on the market. My Shibas go crazy over the taste. The kibble size is one of the tiniest I've seen. So good for portion control and slow feeding. This formula will keep your dogs lean and muscular with beautiful coats. Everyone I have switched over to this brand has been impressed with the same results, from Shepherds to Shibas!

Comments about Nature's Variety Grain-Free Instinct Dry Dog Food:

This food is very digestable. I have a mini American Eskimo. While on a lamb and rice formula she developed a very bad skin rash on her belly. She had a hard time digesting the food and was very gassy. At six years old she had no energy and spent most of her time hiding under the bed. She has been on this food a couple of years now. She is active, rash free, and gas free :-)

Bought this product for my dog with allergies that cause her to chew her feet. She loves the food and good for her bowel issues too. She's allergic to a lot including poultry, potatoes, oats, rice, and carrots. It has chicken fat but I read that should be ok. Still chewing though and began allergy shots about a month ago. Doc wants us to switch food again. Difficult to find anything that isn't over $100 and doesn't have any of the allergens.
