First I read through all the reviews on here and then decided to post my own thoughts. What I see from nearly everyone is that as a "Con" this litter tracks. So I ask you, is there such a thing as non-tracking litter? If you have cats like mine, it doesn't matter what you put in the box, they will kick it, track it and spill it. Part of the reason this litter tracks more than others is the granule is quite small so it probably gets stuck in paws more easily. It is easy to sweep up with a broom and dustpan, so I don't consider it a "Con" -- only a reality of having a litter box.
Overall, this is one of the best litters I have used (and consequently one of my favorites). I mix it half-and-half with World's Best Cat Litter (my other favorite). Used alone, this has too strong of a scent. And World's Best used alone doesn't have the same odor eliminating power, so together they are fantastic. Plus, since World's Best is a "minor investment" when compared to cheap store brands, it helps to mix two kinds to increase mileage of both. I have a 2-cat household and the combination of these two litters lasts me a long time. The scent is nice as well. I also don't consider it lavender, but whatever it is, I like it. A lot of cheap store brands offer scents but they are too much like perfume -- since my cats have better noses than I do, I have to think that if I find the scent nauseating, they would too! Besides, perfumes only superficially mask odors -- the natural stuff seems to eliminate them.
Both litters are great at clumping, too, but I no longer buy based on this claim. I tend to think most litters do at least a good job with clumping. More important to me is my perception of the product after using it -- Does it eliminate odor? Do the cats like it? Is it a natural product? Does it last a long time? Is it easy to scoop? If yes, then I've got a winner.
The other important thing to note with this litter (and World's Best, too) is that both are natural and flushable. Having a natural product is crucial for me because both my cats have long "toe hair" and early on when I tried clay-based litters, they started to show physical effects from ingesting it (when they clean their toes). After switching to all natural, the problems went away. They seem happy with the current combination of Vetbasis and World's Best and I'm very happy with it too. This litter may not be right for everyone (or every cat) but it may be worth a try if you are looking for a new product.
I have smelled many of the natural pet litters and non-natural alike... this is the best smelling, most neutralizing litter out there!
I ordered this litter which was recommended by a friend. I likedthe review and it made it look like this litter was the best!! well, I have used ir for several weeks now, and I can't wait till I finish it so I'll switch back to what I have used. Everyday my Kitten of 4 months old uses it but the floor gets so messy and it's worst feather is that this litter doesn't lock the odor. I scoop and clean twice a day and still have difficulty breathing when I'm cleaning. Once you open the package, the lavender scent is so good but within 24 hours all you smell is your cat's litter.
i use a 50/50 combo of this litter and the swheats scoop stuff. it adds a really nice, non-offensive scent (not quite lavender, more of a fruity/floral aroma which is quite nice) it seems to help the swheats clump a bit better and is still flushable. it doesn't really track, at least i don't think it does (it's hard to tell as my cat is a litter-tosser) i was a bit dubious about this but it's really impressed me. most importantly, the cat likes it.
I have tried many different types of litter looking for a more natural type with low or no dust, as my cat has repiratory issues. When I tried another "corn based" litter, he ate some of it (yuck), and other types of "natural" litters didn't control odor well. I LOVE this litter, it smells nice (lavender) and clumps well and my cat doesn't "snack" on it. It is pricier than most, but it is worth it. It does still "track" some, but this is minimized by using a deep litter box and a mat surrounding the box.
When I went to scoop the litter box I was suprised at how plesant the smell was. The lavender was keeping the litter fresh smelling, even though there was a lot of urine and feces to clean out. Usually when using clay litter the urine smells so bad when I go to change the box that I would avoid changing it. Putting it off and compounding the problem. Now that I use Vetbasis changing the box is not a problem. I would reccommend this litter to anyone. Excellent litter, does not stick to the bottom of the litter box either.
My cats and I love Vetbasis litter. It controls odor and is excellent for a multiple cat household. I have one cat with asthma so the low dust factor is important to me. The only thing that I don't like is that it tends to track just outside the boxes but a broom and dustpan take care of that.
No other product I've used controls odor like the Vetbasis, Lavender......I have to keep my eyes pealed on my stock...my sister's cats like it too!
I've tried many of the "odor" control litter products on the market, and I've found that only the Vetbasis Nature Derived lavender litter is the best at the odor control. I have several cats, and odor control is a big deal for me. I would highly recommend this product.
I began using this to control the odor of living in a small apartment with two cats. It is fabulous! Being in a high rise without a garbage chute, nothing is more annoying than trying to dispose of used litter. Flushing it is wonderful, and I love the way the litter has lavender and other herbs in it for scent. My cats are a little picky and had no issue with this at all!
I have five cats and this litter is one of the best I have found to accomodate multiple cats. It is very easy to scoop because it clumps so well. Two of my cats have a high sulphur content in their urine, but the Vetbasis litter absorbs the odor wonderfully. It is a bit more expensive than most litters, but I have found it to be long-lasting enough to compensate the cost.
This is consistently the best litter on the market. There is NO dust, even those proporting no dust usually have some. It is easy to scoop, easy to clean, we have a few litter boxes. We have tried just about everything else, and this is by far the best for the cats and the humans.

with 14 litter boxes that get scooped at least 3x/day, i have tried just about all the litter out there, and this IS the best. REALLY no dust (unlike the "99% dust-free" ones that leave dust everywhere). and the lavender is just right (not too much) for a pleasant odor. the corn is processed so that it is soft, scoopable, and odor-absorbent.

This is the best kitty litter for multiple cats, it has NO dust, a pleasant odor, easy to scoop and flushable if you so desire. The only thing I wouldn't suggest is to dump it into your planting bed as the package suggests. Cats love it so much they prefer it, and will constantly dig there, so no plants.
