This is a great product! It has really helped save my couch which was taking a beating from my three cats who used it as their scratching post before I bought this. I thought is was a little pricey, but I'm so glad I bought it.
Here are the things I like:
-It is tall so the cats can really stretch while scratching it.
-It looks nice, and goes well with most any decor
-It is sturdy. You don't have to worry about it tipping over. (I didn't have the problem that another reviewer mentioned about it getting damaged easily. No damage so far, and I've had it for a while.)
The only thing I've noticed is that one of my cats still shows a preference for the old, ugly rope scratcher. He'll use this scratcher, but not often. The other two cats love it, and I have to admit, it's worth the money.
I've bought other scratching posts only to have them sit around not being used. I showed my cat how to use it one time and he uses it numerous times during the day. He can stretch all the way to the top and really dig in and the scratching post stays still and doesn't rock. It's well worth the money. It's attractively made so can be used in any room and blends in. I highly recommend it.
I have multiple scratching posts for my two cats, one a 5-year-old female, and the other, an 8-month-old male high-octane kitten. I placed the ultimate post next to the sofa (where they had been scratching to my distress). Both cats have been using the post, and have let the sofa be.
This not only looks great with your decor, but all six cats at this house love it and use it all the time. My furniture is finally getting a break. This is well worth the price.
my cats absolutely love this scratch post. one of my cats will literally embrace the post and rub her head against it for minutes at a time. she's done that since the first day we got the post. the part were cats scratch is sturdy and the post is longer than most posts. my cats really enjoy stretching, which they could not do with the previous 3 or 4 posts i bough them. i would say that it could even be a bit longer. the post is also well balanced and will not rock when cats use it. only con i found with it is that the corners of the base and top were damaged when i got it and seems to be easy to damage.
This is a great post aesthetically because it doesn't have ugly rug; it isn't an eyesore, and doesn't have cardboard which deteriorates quickly.
A goodlooking scratcher which isn't stupidly expensive is hard to find.
And it's quite tall, which allows long cats to really stretch out.
Very popular with our two!
My new kitty was scratching the bed and the carpets. Since this post arrived she doesn't scratch on anything else. The ability to fully stretch is very important.
I have nineteen cats. This is the best ever scratching post. A bit pricey but the cats love this and its sturdy. I wish I had five of them. Received this as a gift. It is really the ULTIMATE.
