This shampoo is great. It keeps the flies and mosquitos away from my dogs. They smell great and it makes them really soft and their fur shines. It is a great natural product. I highly recommend it.

Bently loves it, I give him a bath about every two to three weeks as he likes to play in the snow and mud. Best product that I have used, Bently is a 4 month puppy and the vet commented on how good he smells and how shiny his coat is.

We use this combo on both of our pups in the summer months to help deter insects. It seems to work well and we love the herbal scent. It has caused no irritation on either of our pups. The condtioner is a bit tough to spread and rinse out, but not a huge problem.

I love this conditioner. We have two lab mixes, and one has sensitive skin. This seems to work well for both of them, and it smells great too! Plus, I think it repels fleas, which is a definite plus!

Our dog was miserable...scratching and biting herself constantly. After one use of the shampoo and conditioner, the problem was solved. Now she is once again the happy, playful little girl she was before the flea problem. Thank you so much.
The first time I used this product was when I bought the flea maintance package. I used the products and the shampoo and the conditioner like the instructions said and I have had a problem. I have one dog that has sensitive skin and the shampoo works great no more itchy skin. I live in the woods in Wet Washington. The shampoo and conditioner are a keeper for sure.

I really like this shampoo & conditioner. My boxer had a tumor taken off her head 1 1/2 year ago and I try to use as much natural and organic stuff on her and in her and now my pup also. I just love hugging them, they smell so great!

My 4 month old beagle puppy,Bailey,suffers from skin allergies.I was leary about putting chemical flea preventives on her sensitive skin.I saw this shampoo,and decided to give it a try.It's highly effective,and doesn't irratate her skin.It even helps repel mesquitos.It leaves her coat soft and shiny too.Thanks for a great product!

I use this in conjunction with the conditioner and spray. I also use the galic tabs. I have been using them for 2 years and have had no ticks or fleas at all. I do treat the yard as well. I no longer use the "topical treatments" as my pets have had reactions escpecially as they aged.

I was struggled putting the typical chemical topical ointments on my dog...it was an ordeal. Had to isolate her so she would not go into her crate, she was growling and bearing her teeth...it was a nightmare. So I decided to get the shampoo. She loves her baths...I used to take her hiking in tick infested areas never brought home a tick sine we started using the shampoo, no I live in flea infested area, and she's still golden. I use this shampoo for myself as well and got a whole bunch of my friends hooked on it! Ladies..fyi...never had so many compliments on my dog or my hair!!! :)

I was very impressed with this product. I have tried many in the past but this one really leave my dog and cat coat shinny and silky. I also get comments on how beautiful by boys look. I highly recommend this product.

We purchased the shampoo and conditioner in combination with the essential oils. We didn't have fleas before the product was applied, and 2 days later, she started itching - she had fleas. I don't think it was effective at all on her, and the smell is very over powering. I would not buy this again.

I use this occassionaly on my dogs, but wasn't sure how well it was working. A few weeks ago though, I found a stray puppy with a serious flea probelm. I bathed her with the shampoo and conditioner (because it's safe for puppies!) and I could see the fleas falling off. I did have to use it twice (on consecutive days) before I didn't notice any more fleas.
The only problem with the product for me is that I really don't like the smell, but it's better than fleas and i'm sure it won't bother most people.

This is a marvellously gentle shampoo for my skin sensitive bichon. However, when my rat terrier got sprayed by a skunk and my husband was desperately searching for tomato juice I used this product and it actually removed the skunk smell and made my little guy feel better and smell better.

I have 5 dogs that I used this shampoo on, and I honestly can't see where it REPELS FLEAS! I used the other recommended natural items in conjunction with this shampoo, and I am disappointed.

I like the shampoo and conditioner very much but have to reserve it for special baths because I have 4 big hairy dogs. It isn't economical for me but if it is ever offered in a larger concentrated formula that I can dilute, I would buy it regularly.

This shampoo smells great. It is very effective in keeping the mosquitos from bothering my dark haired dogs. It lathers well and rinses easy. Best shampoo I have every used. Great value too

I really enjoy using this product on my furry children. With four dogs, I've got a variety of coat textures, but this shampoo does well for all of them. The smell is pleasant and doesn't seem to irritate my dogs skin, which is nice since my yorkie is extremely sensitive to most shampoos. Unfortunately, the shampoo/conditioner didn't help with our current tick problem, I still found newly attached ticks on all four of the dogs. I don't really know how well it works for fleas because we've been lucky enough to not have many issues with fleas this year. Overall, I recommend this product if your just looking for a really nice shampoo to use in conjunction with other flea/tick products.

This has to be the best smelling shampoo and conditioner I've ever used on my terriers! It smells so fresh and they don't have that stinky wet dog smell after giving them a bath with this product. I used this with the conditioner and it made their coats softer and easier to manage when combing them. Don't really know yet how it works on fleas but very satisfied with product so far. and I really like the fact that is all natural!

My 12-year-old dog suffers from chronic kidney disease, so using the standard flea-and-tick preventions were out. Only Natural Herbal Defense shampoo is a good alternative in my situation (and I stress, I have only used the shampoo). It leaves a lasting, pleasant odor, and seems to discourage many pests. I should note that we live in a woodsy area that can get quite tick infested, which is why I gave it only a standard rating - you can't help but get ticks, regardless of what you use. Someone living in a not so countrified area might find this works as well, if not better, than the normally prescribed veterinarian stuff.

I read the other reviews before purchasing and wondered if the shampoo/conditioner could be as good as everyone seemed to say. We have 5 dogs--different ages/breeds/sizes and the shampoo was AWESOME for all of them! It really gave a shine and luster to the longer-haired dogs, and the smell really is wonderful. One of my short-hair dogs has sensitive skin and the shampoo worked well for him. I'm impressed and highly recommend!

I love how this product smells, and it works great. I bought this and some other products to substitute for Frontline. It got our Rottie clean (after a 6-hour play in the dirt), and left his coat super shiny, sleek, soft, and smelling wonderful for about a week. Actually, I was thinking that this would smell like herbs, but on Cooper it almost smelled like a good cologne, which my husband really liked... This is a great product. Cooper was super super soft, and smelled great... Love it! Good value too, as all natural products go.

I bought the Herbal Defense Shampoo and Conditioner and absolutely love them. The smell is really pleasant - like a big herb ball!! I have a 6 year old Pekingese and his long hair gets so dirty that this is great for bug defense, cleaning and really, really leaving his coat silky soft!!! I get more compliments and everyone asks me what I use. It's great to have a products that work and that are safe to use!!!

My dog stays outdoors for half of his life: outdoors during the day, in at night. So he gets a good dose of dirt and smelly smells. Shampoo and conditioner smells like eucalyptus/piney. I've never been one to use conditioner on my dogs, but I'm happy to use this, because it makes his rough coat VERY soft. His white hair stays shiny and white for much longer than with other shampoos. The added benefit of the repellent is wonderful. I can't say for sure if it repels, but he has not had one tiny problem with fleas since I used it. Family members can't get over how beautiful his coat is, how much longer he stays clean, and how good he smells! In fact, a month after bathing him, many times someone will ask, "Did you just give him a bath?" Nice stuff!

Gracie is a swimmer and a roller. She loves to get in the pool, no matter the weather and then she loves to chase after leaves that are falling, stirring up dirt and dust. So, Gracie stays pretty dirty, until now. We used the Pet Herbal Defense Shampoo, along with the conditioner, and we have made a point of brushing her every evening. Her coat has remained as soft as it was the night we bathed her. And, most important to us, she no longer smells like "wet dog." We are VERY pleased with these two products and highly recommend them to anyone with a "player."

We try not to "over bathe" our girls because it will dry out their skin. However, during the spring, summer and fall when the fleas are bad, we use this shampoo. It kills fleas on contact and smells great. Rinses easily.

I have been looking for a pleasant smelling shampoo/conditioner, since our dog stays indoor with us and sleeps in our room. The smell is nice, he had a few irritating spots from places I removed tics from, and the herbs seemed to take away the discomfort he usually has after tics are removed and a bath follows. His fur is soft and the clean smell is still there a few days after.

We used this in a professional tub and glad we did. The hair just kept coming off. The conditioner took even more hair off and I couldn't believe the condition of her coat afterwords. I had purchased this product to ward off ticks...and it seems to have done that as well. An awesome produce!!!

I usually bathe my dog every two weeks. I don't use flea drops or anything along that line that might hurt his kidneys. This shampoo is the best I've found. Easy on my hands and his skin.

I thought the product was a littly pricey, but it is so concentrated, that I only had to use half as much. The smell is amazing! I have never had a product for flea control that smelled so good. It lingers for a long time on the dog's coat too! The conditioner leaves his fur very shiny and soft.
I prefer this line to anything I have seen in retail stores.

I do not use any chemical flea/tick spot on treatment or any chemical flea/tick shampoo. There is no need for any of the harsh chemicals when using this shampoo! It smells great, leaves my dogs coat in "show" condition, shiny and healthy, and does not irritate the skin at all. It keeps ticks and fleas away. I bathe my inside dogs twice a week in the summer after being on outdoor romps and this shampoo does not dry out their sensitive skin. A little goes a long way with this shampoo. One bottle has lasted me bathing two 20lb. dogs twice weekly for the whole summer. Great product!!

I love the Herbal Defense Shampoo and Conditioner (as well as the Spray). My two dogs were scratching a lot, and I saw they had fleas. I ordered these products and used them as soon as they arrived. Both of my dogs are now so relieved and their fur is super silky and shiny. To top it off, they smell great and the fleas are hesitant to return (especially when I use the spray)!

We recently brought a puppy home from the SPCA and she was covered in fleas & some ticks. After bathing her a couple of times she is free of the nasty things. The smell is great and her coat is so soft and shiny. I think she likes even more than I do.

Of all the shampoos and conditioners I've used, this product works very well. Smells nice, not strong. Cleans coat well without irration and condition leaves coat soft. My 8 mo. old Golden likes it and it leaves him looking "sparkling" clean with less shedding. I would recommend this product. You can also dilute it for use.

I just tried this for the first time and really liked it. My Boston Terrier's skin tends to get dry and flaky after baths and this didnt do that to him. It smells great like patchouli and seemed to wash away any debris off the fur. However, for tick/flea prevention this should be used as part of a system- as its not a strong enough product to use alone. I used it with the Herbal Defense Spray and it seems to do the trick.

I began using this Herbal Defense shampoo along with the conditioner and spray about a month ago in an attempt to go a more natural route in preventing fleas & ticks this year. I also give the ONPS brand brewers yeast & garlic tabs. So far so good! I find that the combination of products has definitely been repelling ticks very well, but it hasn't truly been tested against fleas since it's not quite warm enough for them to be in full effect yet. I have also noticed it helps a lot at repelling flies as well! Normally on a hot day flies will land on my dogs and hitch a ride, but with this stuff they won't even land on them. It does have an herbally/slightly citronella like smell to it, but honestly it is not bad at all. I normally HATE smells like that but I don't mind it at all and I sleep with my 2 dogs who I use it on every night. It makes their fur softer than any other shampoo we've used too.

I have used this product on my 2 Chihauhaus with great success. We do alot of camping and I have younger children that are always kissing and holding the dogs so I did not want to use a chemical like Frontline. I knew natural oils work at repelling fleas and insects so I decided to give this a try. Great product - works great, smells good. I used in conjunction with the Brewers Yeast tablets and the Herbal Spray (the spray has a strong scent that will take a while to wear off, but works great.) No more fleas and ticks!

I love the way this shampoo smells. I love that it has no harsh chemicals. It works great, but it won't control the fleas all by itself. You'll have to use it with some other form of flea remedy.

I have two dogs a chihuahua and a dacshund. The shamooo and conditioner were ok but did not help repel fleas or mosquitos at all--not even for a day. I am disappointed. I would not buy this product again.

This conditioner is a great compliment to the shampoo. It left my silky coat yorkies with hair that was more manageable and soft. It also smelled great while it worked with the shampoo to keep away the fleas without the side effects of insecticides.

I have 4 yorkies with different types of coats. This shampoo left their coats soft and manageable. They smelled great and got rid of the fleas fast. I also purchased the conditioner and spray which enhances the effects of the shampoo. I live in Florida where fleas and other bugs are a constant problem. With these products I no longer have to rely on dangerous insecticides with all the side affects. Even my yorkie with allergies fared better with this product.

I was pleasantly surprised how un-herbally smelling this was since I am not a huge fan of that smell. It also kept all three of my dogs flea and tick free even after running through fields and forests. I stopped using Frontline and started using this along with the garlic/yeast tablets and there hasn't been a sign of any yucky pests or parasites.

These products ROCK! The Shampoo and Conditioner pack a one-two punch in the war against fleas. Very gentle to the dogs, yet effective! And, what the site does not tell you, these are excellent products in their own right - I have been extremely pleased with how beautiful my long coat chihuahuas look after using these products. As good as the "high end" grooming products.

Our dachsie's, Snickers and Baby Ruth, have had great results with the shampoo and have just started using the conditioner. I use this in conjunction with the spray when I brush them. We live in the country where fleas and ticks are bad but the girls never have a flea on them and hardly ever have a tick. Great stuff!

After a really horrible horrible allergic reaction that my 9 1/2 year old dog suffered from Advantix..and after using Advantage for years and looking for something else...I stumbled across this website and thought I might try a natural approach....I was VERY skeptical....however this stuff really works and as an added extra my furry guys coat was soooooo soft and the smell is an herbal one...so if you like a fresh herbal scent...then you will love this....

We have gone through many bottles of this shampoo in our rescue group! It is the most natural we have found, works beautifully, and leaves them smelling like REAL essential oils rather than synthetic fragrance! We don't use it for fleas. We use it because it is excellent and SAFE!
