PEGGY-SUE GETS 1/2 WITH OTHER FOOD FOR HER A.M. MEAL AND THE SAME FOR HER P.M. MEAL. SHE LOVES IT. I RECENTLY CHANGED HER FROM HARD DOG FOOD TO THIS HEALTHY WAY OF EATING. I THOUGHT MY VET. WAS GIVING ME THE BEST FOOD FOR HER. NOW I FEEL BETTER THAT SHE IS GETTING THE BEST AND HOPEFULLY SHE WILL BE HEALTHY HER WHOLE LIFE. SHE IS 2 YRS OLD.

I've been feeding this in addition to another premium brand food to my Scottie and my son's Lab-mix. It smells great when I mix it and both dogs eat it with gusto. My son just took his dog on 270+ mile Appalachian Trail adventure and supplimented with larger amounts this food as an increase in caloric intake for her. It was lighter in weight for her to carry in her backpack. She came home from her adventure very fit and healthy with a wonderfully shiney coat.

Great product and less mess than canned food - you don't have to do anything but crumble it onto the dry food kibble. My dogs LOVE it better than any canned variety.

Ernie, my senior cockerspaniel's hearing, coat, "poops", & energy have all improved. Yes, even his hearing. He's always had (excuse me)loose bowl movements. I've been feeding him and his 3 year old companion cocker/mix, Edith, a mixture of Honest Kitchen Embark, Freeze dried Venison and grain-free kibble all mixed with organic free range chicken broth. While she has always been and remains young & healthy, it's like he has a new lease on life at 11 yrs old. Everyone comments on the change. I recommend both products without hesitation.

A family member of mine gave me this product because her cat didn't like it. Not because it's a bad product, but because her kitty is a tad spoiled. In fact, when I mixed one of these pellets with water then added their regular dried food, they absolutely LOVED it! I wouldn't mind spending the money on this item. It's a great product. Everything that's in it is benefitial and nutritious for my kitties. We're getting a puppy soon and I wouldn't hesitate to feed this to it as well!

All four of our dogs love it
By BobbiVerified Purchaser from Seattle, Wa on 10/15/2007
Pros:
Dog Likes It, Tasty
Cons:
No serving directions
Best Uses:
all dogs, Larger Dogs
Describe Yourself:

Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

We have four breeds of dogs and while there has been some experimenting with them to find which dried dog kibble each likes, this freeze dried meat was an immediate hit with all of them. Also any family member that brings their dog over loves this product. The ony fault is that the package does not give any directions on how to serve it to your dog. I finally grated it on top of their kibble.

We use the freeze dried nuggets (1/2 of one per day) mixed into Teddy's dried food (Orijen...best/healthiest dried food I've found)...he loves them!!! They are also perfect if you are going out for the day/travelling/etc, they pack very well. Plus, Teddy (who is a very picky eater) loves it!!!!

MY SMALL POODLE LOVES THIS FOOD!
By SHARONVerified Purchaser from AMANDA, OH on 9/24/2007
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

FANCY IS MY 7 YEAR OLD POODLE AND WEIGHS ABOUT 13 LBS. SHE HAS BEEN ON INDIGESTION DIETS FROM THE VET FOR YEARS AND STILL I HAD TO GIVE HER TAGAMENT TO EASE HER TUMMY PROBLEMS. SHE HAD NO ENERGY AND HER TUMMY WAS ALWAYS BLOATED. I GIVE HER THE CHICKEN/TURKEY AND THE VENISON FREEZE DRIED FOOD AND I CHANGED HER FOOD TO INNOVA SMALL BITES AND EVO CANNED. I GIVE HER THE FREEZE DRIED FIRST THING IN THE MORNING AND AGAIN IN THE LATE AFTERNOON. SHE IS A NEW DOG.

Dogs love the freeze-dried meat
By Animal LoverVerified Purchaser from Merritt Island, FL on 9/20/2007
Pros:
Dog Likes It, Easy To Digest, Nutritional, Tasty
Cons:
Expensive to use daily
Best Uses:
Older Dogs

Bottom Line:

My 2 dogs were eager to eat once I opened the bag. The smell must have been tantalizing.
I had been cooking chicken & veg's to add to their food, but found that they would eat without hesitation when I added the freeze-dried meat to their canned food diet. This saves me a tremendous amount of time and meal prep is done in a flash.

This first made a hit with a friend's cats and dogs; it took a couple tries with my cats, who prefer it reconstituted, but they love it now. Extremely convenient for feeding while keeping a healthy diet for my cats. Also produces less recycling waste than cans of grain-free food.

I have two dogs, one is a puppy and one is an adult. I was looking for a food that both could eat without having to purchase two different foods. I compared all the ingrediants and the nutritional stats of many, many foods. This one beat them all. And they absolutly love it!! I have never found a food that my picky dogs eat better. I will never change!!

I have two Minature American Eskimos. They have always been very picky about what they eat and one has a sensitive stomach and food allergies. Since I started feeding them Nature valley freeze dried food they can't wait for me to put it down for them, and the one with the allegies hasn't had any problems.

Great addition to my kitten's diet
By mp w/ JackKittieVerified Purchaser from San Ramon, CA on 7/20/2007
Pros:
Easy To Digest, Kitten likes it, Nutritional, Tasty
Describe Yourself:
New Owner
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

I actually bought this for my new kitten to mix into his diet. He seems to really enjoy this -- I have processed it into a powder and re-hydrate it with some water. (he does not seem to be too keen on it dry out of the bag) If I were to have another dog, I'm sure this would be a staple in his/her diet, and it will also continue to be a supplement in my kitten/cat's diet -- a great nutritional and natural food at a pretty good value.

Zoe's Favorite
By MasieVerified Purchaser from Madison, MS on 2/6/2007
Pros:
Nutritional, Tasty
Best Uses:
Active Dogs, Smaller Dogs
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

I feed my min. American Eskimo dog, Zoe, a rotation of canned, rolled (Nature's Balance), Nature's Variety freeze-dried and "home-made" raw food diet. Based her reaction, Nature's Variety freeze dried foods are her favorite! She's never, and I mean literally, never been anything but charged to eat it. I can't say that about any of the others - even my own raw food recipes. She's tried all the varieties and goes nuts for each of them.

Pros:
Nutritional, Tasty
Best Uses:
Active Dogs, Larger Dogs, Older Dogs, Puppies, Smaller Dogs

This is good when you go on long trips or as a treat. My puppy likes it without water as it's a crunchy treat for her. I don't give it to her as a staple diet though, I mix it with her kibble.

I like the portion size pieces
By Bettys MomVerified Purchaser from NW Arkansas on 11/24/2006
Pros:
Animal Likes It, Good Value, Improves Coat, Nutritional
Cons:
Could be cost prohibitive
Best Uses:
Dog

I add glyco flex III for our dog with joint problems. I like the portability of the freeze dried as it is next best to feeding raw (which we tried, and our dog loved but it was impossible to find sources in our area that were practical to feed). I show our dog in obedience and rally, and the food is small and easy to transport, keeps well, and is always eaten. I feed twice a day.
