Within 3 days I could feel the difference in my Basset Hounds skin and coat. The dogs love it.
It truly amazes me how quickly her coat changes. I have fed her this off then on just to see if I was imagining this difference and yes it did. Even my Toy Poodles' skin and hair are softer. Truly Amazing.

My cat likes the chicken and comes to get me when she wants to eat. Her coat also was softer to the touch in only a few days. GREAT Product!!!!!

I feed one medallion each to my 2 older cats in the morning. They eat it within the hour it's given to them & they're more active since I've started giving it to them. My cats have very sensitive digestive systems but this seems to be working out well with them. We hardly ever smell the cat box. I give this 2 thumbs up!

My cats like the rabbit and it has become their routine food. If you feed raw, this product is great--the small medallions provide easy portioning with no mess. The closure on the plastic bag is stronger than dirt, so I open the bag and transfer the medallions to a freezer carton for ease of use.

Great for dogs and cats! My 8 year old shepherd mix and 10 year old tabby both love this food. While dogs will tend to gobble it down right away, it may take awhile to get your cat into it, but be patient because the results are worth it. I started by giving my cat half a medallion, heated for just a few seconds (not more than 5) in the microwave. This gets the food to room temp and activates the yummy odor. Stir it up and then serve. It also helps to sprinkle a crushed up treat over it at first. Now my cat has reached the point that he begs for this stuff, especially the rabbit flavor, and his coat has never been so soft and shiny.

Wish me luck with our next blood test and I will surely let you know! He couldn't love the food any more though. He is once again jumping up and down. He hasn't done that in months!!

Our 2 year old German Sheperd has a grain intolerance coupled with irritable bowel syndrom. We have been feeding her 1 patty a day mixed with her regular dry food and she gobbles it up. Until we tried this product, we were throwing more food away than she was eating. We have tried many other products to get her to eat better. This was the only one that has worked on a regular basis. There has been a noticable differnce in her coat. She doesn't shed as much and her coat is super glossy. Slightly on the expensive side, but well worth it!

My dog is 14 (almost 15) and she is a precious little Schnauzer who has been blind for 5 years. She's also been on a low-calorie, low-fat prescription diet for hyperlipidemia for 5 years but she just wasn't satisfied. She seemed hungry even after a meal and she cried a lot. I've been feeding her the raw medalions along with other natural foods now, taking her off of the processed dry food, for about 6 weeks. She took to it really well! It's a bit messy though, since there is still some natural blood in the medalions, but it's worth it for her health. She seems much more nourished now. In fact, I just had her blood work done at the vet and she is not showing any signs of the hyperlipidemia (her triglycerides are normal)! Thanks for the great product. I just placed my second order.

ALL cats do best on raw, their natural food. NV is naturally low in carbs, and low in fruits and veggies, which cats don't need at all. I have one cat with diabetes from DRY food, on raw I'm weaning him off insulin -- yeah! Other cat with constipation and constant regurgitation for 7 years regardless of the food except FF (ick) -- NO PROBLEMS since switching to NV. This site should make this review section CAT-friendly, cuz this stuff is GREAT for cats!

My Bichon loves the venison medallions! I really hate that I bought venison (which has lamb in it also) since I am a vegan but my Bichon has really bad allergies and his health is what matters most to me. It's very easy to use, I've only had it a short pd. of time, but so far so good! He seems to have a lot more energy, and he won't even touch his dry food now. I also use Aller-7 to help with his allergies and coughing. I serve the medallions with a little organic cottage cheese on the side to help with digestion from to the probiotics in cottage cheese.

My Cocker Spaniel started with skin allergies at 8 mo. old. For years, I tried everying out there to help his skin. When he was 8 years old, I decided to try him on a raw diet, and he is a new dog. His skin has cleared up, and he is leaner and happier than ever!!! He eats 8 chicken necks for breakfast and for dinner he has 1/2 of a Nature's Variety pattie (either chicken or beef) mixed with Grain-free kibble. I was very apprehensive at first about a raw diet, but I have to say that it is the best thing I have ever done for him and for me. Would highly recommend this product and switching to a raw diet. It does take a few months to clear out their systems before you will see a huge difference in their skin -- so be patient!! I think a good rule to go by is it will take 1 month for every year that their skin has been bad. So don't be discouraged if you don't see overnight results in their skin. Some immediate results you will see in them is that they are happier, leaner, and much more healthy. Give it a try -- you will not be disappointed!!

I have 2 Great Danes and 2 cats that I feed Raw. Mostly the cats eat the Natures Variety, because I have an organic farmer who I get my fresh meats from for the dogs (when you need 9 lbs of food per day it gets pricey on NV!) My cats LOVE the Natures Variety, so far they've had the Rabbit and the Organic Chicken formula. They go crazy for it! My older cat tore both of his rear MCL's last year and we refused surgery. He was overweight (kibble fed) and we were worried he wouldn't make it off the table. We switched him to raw food and within a few weeks he was shedding his fat rolls for lean muscle mass and his legs healed all on their own! He's a happy 8 year old lean-mean-mosquito-hunting-machine now, and I truly feel I owe that to Natures Variety!

I use it everyday along with some unprocessed meats and raw bones. Before starting this diet, she was sick alot with digestive tract upsets, ear infections and skin allergies. She got to the point where she didn't want to eat food, I belive she associated it with pain after eating. Switching to this has let her enjoy food, look and feel great, and less trips to the vet for me. I haven't found anything I don't like about it, I store it in a big freezer in the basement, it's easy to determine what amount, by weight, to feed.

We realized we had a dog with special diet needs when he was 8 months old. Vets thought it was IBD, but we were never sure because I didn't want to do the biopsy until last resort. He started off on veterinary IBD formulas, then onto Wellness Simple Solutions, but he came to life when we switched to Nature's Variety Instinct and chicken raw. He did have some sensitivity digesting the raw lamb, so we stay away from that now. Everything else has worked great, and comes conveniently packaged. I was a little worried about ordering the chubs, but they come packaged in smaller "cookie dough" tubes, so it is easy to thaw and use the food as you need it.

Our reslusts: all of the bumps on his skin went away, his coat got so much shinier, his energy level sky-rocketed, gas disappeared, stools got smaller...the list of benefits go on and on. The difference is so noticeable I have people commenting all the time at the dog park. My one fault with his new, healthier diet - his toe nails grow in too quickly! All those good vitamins really are working.

My boxer was diagnosed with pancreatitis when we'd had her for about 6 months. I switched her to the frozen patties from Nature's Variety, and haven't had a problem since. We always get comments on how beautiful, soft, and shiny her coat is, and how healthy she seems.
Boxers are known for their flatulence; when she eats this raw food, she has no gas. Or at least if she does, it is no longer of the "omg-everybody-leave-the-room-gasping-for-breath" variety.
As an added bonus, this food cuts down significantly on the amount of stool she produces, and so clean-up is much easier!

I switched my two cats to a raw diet about a year ago and had been primarily making my own food. However, mostly I have access to chicken, turkey, and beef and hadn't been able to give them the variety that I know is important. My local pet stores started carrying SOME raw foods, but when I looked at the ingredient lists, they always contained grains in some form, which I know are not good for kitties. In an unrelated search for snakefood, I tried another pet store in the neighborhood that I had always avoided on account of it having poor selection. Having a look around the place just to see what had changed since I was last there some years ago, I discovered a freezer at the back of the store that featured Nature's Variety. I decided to give it a try as a supplement to my own raw mixes. But I didn't really reap the benefit until my wedding approached and I began having difficulty finding time to make up raw meals for my felines. So I started using NV as a full-time diet for them. WOW! They love all the varieties except the beef and their coats are amazingly soft and the litterbox smells infinitely better. I will not hesitate to keep them on this diet with me making only occasional meals. My kitties are worth it.

My Pepe has not been sick since I started this food over a year ago -- it's FANTASTIC! I alternate the organic chicken, venison, & lamb. He eats once a day (1/2 a pattie) & a couple of health cookies -- still weighs 27 lbs. Pretty big for a Bichon, but he takes a long walk w/me every day!

I own a Cattery, I breed Persian's and Himalayans. I had heard about raw diets and finally decided to try it, as I was having trouble at weaning time. My kittens would just have a hard time and it would be almost a fight to start them on solid food. Not anymore. Now I start offering the raw meat to them at 6 weeks old, while they are still with their Mom. They just dive into the bowl. Now I have fat, rolly polly kittens healthy kitten with beautiful coats. And with only minimal work. The food keeps them at a wonderful weight, and are the perfect weight when they go to their new homes. It has made breeding so much easier. Thank You, for such a great product. I use the Chicken, Rabbit and Beef. They love all three. If you are still on the fence about going raw, don't be, just go for it, you will be Amazed!

Only Natural Pet Store Response:When the question comes up as to what is "too expensive," we ask the question, "will it be more or less expensive than vet visits, lab tests, and medications later on?" We do understand that we all have budget limitations to work with, so if you can't afford to feed raw all the time, using it as a supplement, as this reviewer suggests, is a great idea.

This seems like great pet food, and I'm sure my dogs would love it, but I have 3 large dogs, and can't afford to feed them raw often.

I bought a small bag of the lamb for my cat. It smells a little funny, and she won't eat it - unless I mix it with Prowl. Then she loves it, because she loves the flavor of the Prowl. She might like the chicken or the rabbit better.

My dogs are aways eager at mealtimes especially when they know that this product will be in their bowl. I mix it with a high quality kibble and their bowls are always licked clean. It's a great meal for my older dog, a rottweiler, who has a sensitive digestive system. He now passes less gas and his stools are smaller and firmer.

I recently got a MaineCoon kitten who had been raised on raw food. After reading about it, I decided to convert my other kitties to raw, rather than trying to reform Coonie.

Conversion was difficult--but I'm so glad I persisted. Our oldest cat (12) was starting to look and act like he was on his last legs. Four months into feeding raw, he's playing with the kitten. (Or at least he's not HIDING from the kitten.)

After messing about with whole chickens and the like, I discovered Nature's Variety...way easier!!

The only issue I've had is that my 3 are addicted to the rabbit and only eat the other flavors under duress. Is only one kind of meat okay?? Does anyone know?

Only Natural Pet Store Response:The holistic approach to nutrition generally supports the idea of rotating food, especially protein sources, for both dogs and cats. Consuming the same food repeatedly over long periods of time can contribute to the development of food sensitivities and allergies, inflammatory bowel disease and other health issues. Although cats can be picky eaters, we would encourage cat owners to rotate food from time to time. For more information, please see our article, "Why Switch Foods?", in our Holistic Healthcare Library.

I used this brand to transition my cats to raw. They took to it surprisingly well, and quickly ... considering I'd already spent a year moving them from kibble to canned to varieties of meats. I wish that NV had not changed the rabbit formula to include pork meat/bone/fat, however. One of my cats cannot stomach any meat from an animal that cats typically don't eat. So she started vomiting the rabbit when the formula changed. I am very, very happy with the nutritional balance of the NV brand. I do wish they included other small animal flavors like pheasant or quail.

Only Natural Pet Store Response:Cat guardians with questions or concerns about the addition of pork ingredients to the rabbit formula food are directed to the informational links in our product description above for the Rabbit Formula food.

I dont know why I waited so long to try this. I have two rat terriers; one with skin allergies. I wanted to try a raw diet for her because I didnt want to give her steroids every time her allergies acted up. Well since her diet was changing, I went ahead and changed the male's as well. It has been a positive change. I use the medallions. They are happier dogs, anxious for their meals. Never got sick. And their coats....unbelieveably shiny. I strongly recommend anyone who is skeptical, dont be! I wouldnt ever go back to other foods containing fillers.

This is great stuff! I have been feeding a raw diet to my Shelties for 12 years. I've weaned 3 litters of puppies onto raw and they have all gone on to lead healthy, active lives. For 8 years I made my own raw. My dogs were healthy, no problems. Then Nature's Variety became available in my area. I started using it and saw that it was as good as what I had been feeding and had more variety than I could ever provide. I have seen this diet help dogs with problems ranging from allergies and thyroid problems to even cancer. If you build a house with poor materials, the house will not stand very long. It will be prone to problems, ailments. BUT if you build that house with the best bricks and wood, that house will stand alot longer and have less if any problems. Same goes for living things. Feed raw especially if you are active with your dogs.

THE AMOUNT OF FECES WASTE HAS DRAMATICALLY BEEN REDUCED ALSO. I JUST TAKE A CHUBB OUT OF THE FREEZER AND LET IT THAW OVERNIGHT IN THE REFRIGERATOR. MY DOG PUTS HIS HEAD IN THE BOWL AND DOESN'T LIFT IT UP UNTIL THE BOWL IS LICKED CLEAN.

Great product - with 5 cats feeding canned and dry food was a nightmare - plus they were all over weight and throwing up. After losing a 4 year old cat to kidney problems we decided to try raw - a great improvement with no health issues since they began the diet. We love the automatic delivery process since the only place for us to get the raw food was miles away from home, it saves time and money. We have recommended this product and this site to all our friends with cats & dogs.

After a lot of reading about pet food and nutrition we determined that raw food was the way to go for our Bichon puppy. We tried raw kibble products, but ended up going totally raw and grain free. Our formerly picky eater now eats his dinner in less than one min. His breath is great, his coat is thick and glossy and he is a ball of energy. I like to think that it is due to the food, but maybe it is because he is still a puppy. We love it and often joke that our puppy eats better than we do.

I started transitioning my cat to raw food after he was diagnosed with FeLV and FIV. It cleared up his chronic diarrhea immediately. The transition from commercial to raw was a challenge, but if you are determined and use recommended methods (fasting the cat, mixing in some commercial food and gradually changing to all raw, etc.), it isn't impossible.

I like the convenience of the medallions of this brand, I simply take out the portions I need every night for the next day, defrost them in the refrigerator overnight, then heat them up just a touch in the toaster oven right before serving. I do strain the gravy out of a good-quality commercial cat food and glaze the food a little with it. My cat also only likes rabbit, I think the strong smells and fattiness of the other meats turns him off.

I have 3 cats. One is a huge Burmese (Muchacho, aka BIG BOY), who had a weight problem; he couldn't handle carbs. Since being on a raw diet for one month, he has lost four pounds. I have now transitioned all 3 cats to totally raw and they are enjoying it.
Dr. Pottenger (famed raw food diet researcher) was right!
Thanks for a great, simple to feed product!

The medallions are very convenient. They thaw overnight in the fridge. The one thing I don't like about this food is that it contains veggies, which cats don't need in a raw food.

Only Natural Pet Store Response:Many holistic veterinarians agree that the 95% meat - 5% fruit/veggie ratio is most similar to a natural diet that our pets' wild counterparts would eat. Fruit and vegetable ingredients can add many valuable nutrients to your pet's diet that meat alone may not provide. These whole food ingredients deliver the extra nutrition in a highly bio-available form, typically much easier to absorb than their synthesized vitamin and nutrient counterparts.

I have made raw food for my chihuahuas for years because I never trusted commercial brands. My dogs love raw meat and the nutritional balance of Nature's Variety is superb. My 9 year old has skin allergies that have cleared up since I started feeding her NV. No more scratching or vomiting either! The 3 year old is very active and this meets his energy needs. I give them both 2 medallions mixed with 1/4 cup of the dry Instinct for the older, less active dog and 1/2 cup for the younger, more active one. Chihuahuas can be very picky eaters but they love all the flavors so feeding time is now stress free!

It is much more economical and convenient than making it myself. There is no way I would be able to include all the ingredients in NV's formulas. Thank you so much for this product. I no longer worry about their nutritional balance and how it is going to affect their health and longevity.

Bottom Line:
No, I would not recommend this to a friend

I love that they have this food available, and it has lovely ingredients. It is also very easy to portion and there are a variety of flavors. Unfortunately, it is totally unpalatable for the cat who really should be on a raw diet because of his IBD. I can't even begin to start transitioning him to it, because if I even use the same spoon to mash up the raw and then use it to mix the canned into his bowl, he will refuse to eat it. This same canned food (Wellness grain free) is eagerly devoured as long as there is no trace of the raw. So far I have tried rabbit, venison, chicken, and lamb formulas, all with the same results.
Literally, I cannot even mix in a pin-head sized amount of the raw with a large portion of canned or he won't touch it. It almost smells like clay, not like meat of any kind. Which is fine, as long as it is good for them (it does contain montmorillonite clay after all) and palatable. Unfortunately, it is not attractive at all to him. I am so disappointed.
Of course, the dogs will eat it, so I am not totally out of luck. The cat does love the wellness grain free food and he is diving right in to the innova evo I got samples of. But he really should be eating raw. And who knows what the stools are going to look like. If anyone has any suggestions, PLEASE let me know! I am ready to try anything!. Are there any raw foods that are more enticing?

I need something quick, healthy, worry-free AND something that results in "tidy poo's" that are easy to pick up w/ those dainty poo bags. This is it. Eyes are clear and shiny, dog is energetic, coat glows and we have a nice, neat morning and evening "elimination" with no disgusting side-effects -- to put it as delicately as possible.

I am feeding the Chicken. Does anyone have any ideas?? Can this be cooked too?

The health of one of my 15 year-old cats had steadily declined over the past several years. His health was so bad that he could not walk without staggering and falling over. His coat was drab and dull. After he survived pneumonia in December, I learned about this food and decided to try the turkey and chicken medallions and the organic chicken medallions. I started adding 1/2 of a medallion to his usual dinner every day. Within a week, he was eating a whole medallion every day. He has been eating at least 1 medallion every day since then and his health and coat have improved tremendously. For the first time in at least a year, he is actually running outside. This food is the only change I have made for him. This food is what has brought him back to the land of the living. I would recommend this food to anyone who has a cat they care about.

My dog loves the patties, but they are a bit too big for him even when cut in half. [...] I will order more when we are finished with these. [...] The only thing I don't like is the fact I have to immediately wash the bowl and hands or anything where the raw organic chicken food has been, but it's not too bad considering my dog is getting a very healthy meal that he absolutely goes crazy about.

Best Raw Food for Cats
By SF CatrineVerified Purchaser from San Francisco, CA on 8/13/2007
Pros:
Easy To Digest, Good Value, Great for cats, Improves Coat, Nutritional, Tasty
Best Uses:
Great for FUSCrystals, Special Needs
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

This is the only commercial food I would feed to my cat, which has had problems with Feline Urological Syndrome - or urine crystals and blockages. The food is high quality and very nutritious. The kitties look and feel great and I haven't had to take them to the vet since they've started eating it. However, I think this food is too high in protein for some dogs (like mine). It is perfect for cats, though.

My 13 month old German Shepard developed a bad hot spot after an allergic reaction to mosquitos. It was very tender and he couldn't stand to be touched to apply the medication. I started him on this food mixed in with his dry about 2 days after the incident and within 2 days the hot spot was gone and the hair was growing back in the area they had shave; no medication needed. He is more active, vibrate and excited about life. He eats all his food now and eliminates more regularly and less.

My three year old German Shepherd dog is a rescue who came to live with us 18 months ago. He had obviously been fed table scraps and was in very poor health but would not eat dog kibble of any brand. He often went for three or four days without eating. My daughter told me about this raw meat product and it has been the miracle cure we were looking for with Sigfried. I thaw 4 medallions and mix them with water to make a gravy before adding it to the dry kibble. He will make the bowl spin in circles to get every last drop. Because this product is expensive I alternate this with Honest Kitchen Embark. He loves them both. Highly recommended.

Our two little poodles have been on this food for over a year. I tried to give them raw chicken and other meats which I bought at the grocery, but I ended up chopping them up with a hatchet so the little dogs could eat them easier. That was a big bother and mess. With these medallions, I can pop them into a bowl in the morning and they are thawed out by the afternoon. I set some out in the evening, and they are ready for breakfast. If I forget to get them out, they quickly defrost. I mix in suppliments, or hide a pill inside a lump, and wham-bang it is gone in a gulp. There are no big bones, and my dogs gobble down 3 medallions in a meal in less than a minute. With a large dog, I would get the chubs or pattys for meals and use the medallions as treats.
The insulated box they come is is also useful! We are moving across country, and I have packed all the liquid products I wish to take in those boxes. I have also put all my wonderful sented candles in one so they do not mealt as we go across Texas in August. When I get there, I plan on finding someone else who needs insulated boxes. They are great!

Diet switch is working well
By HHBVerified Purchaser from Willis, VA/US on 7/17/2007
Pros:
Dog Likes It, Easy to Apportion, Easy To Digest, Good Value, Improves Coat, Nutritional, Tasty
Cons:
None
Best Uses:
Active Dogs, Older Dogs, Smaller Dogs, Special Needs
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Have spent the past two and a half months switching eight beloved terriers, ages 4 to 14, from three different premium grade kibbles to a raw frozen diet.

The two older terriers (10, 14) have been on 100% raw for about a month now. They love it and had no problems at all making a gradual switch. One of those two had a "licking paws" habit that has disappeared. More time passing should reveal more about this diet's benefits.

Six other terriers are now switched to 50% raw/50% kibble. Their kibble requirement previously included three different kibbles (senior, normal, sensitive skin and stomach). With their new kibble, same brand as the frozen raw brand, they are maintaining well with no problems. Their switch was gradual, too, and well worth the effort.

Small changes are observable with this group. The same disappearance of the "paw licking" habit as described above for two of them. Two more previously produced a tiny drop of dried sleep in the corner of each eye, now also gone.

More time passing should reveal the full benefits of this regimen. Hope to report them later on.

I have an 8yr old German Sheperd, a 10yr Schnauzer mix with severe allergies, two 3yr Australian Terriers, a 6mo and a 3mo Australian Terrier! Whew! ALL of them love this product, mix it with the dry kibble from Nature's Variety and bowls are cleaned. The most dramatic result is the health benefits for my Schnauzer mix.His coat has come back in, no more constant scratching and chewing,no more constant ear infections, no more picky eating! And he is allergic to everything, including dust mites! And believe me, I had tried EVERYTHING to give him relief. Its like a comedy at feeding time, one large and 5 small dogs sitting in a circle behind me quietly waiting, until the bowls start coming off the counter!

Outstanding Food!
By CarmenVerified Purchaser from Los Angeles, California on 4/14/2007
Best Uses:
Smaller Dogs
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

I have been feeding my Cavalier King Charles Spaniel this food for about 2 weeks now. He just absolutely loves it. He use to go a few days before he would eat, so this prompted me to find something better. I was feeding Royal Canin dry but he just increasing became bored with it so I tried making food myself and other dry and canned formulas. The first few days he seemed to just love the changes but at about the 3-4th day he became bored with those as well. So I decided after much research to try Natures Variety RAW. It is supposed to be the best so I purchased the Organic Chicken, Venison and Lamb varieties and he loves them all. He almost knocks me down trying to get to the fridge. He has small firm stools, drinks less water and is more active than he ever has been. He and I both are thrilled.

Kidney results improved after 2 months
By momcatVerified Purchaser from Atlanta, GA on 3/8/2007
Pros:
Nutritional, Tasty
Best Uses:
Cats
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

My 15-year-old cat was diagnosed with early kidney disease, and the vet recommended one of the commercial kidney diets. After reading the chemicals in it, I researched and found this food. Almost immediately, she regained the weight she had lost, and after 2 months on this food, which she loves, her blood work came back much improved. She is happy again and acting like a kitten -- but she is always bugging me when it starts to get to feeding time! Each meal, I put 3 medallions in a plastic bag in the icebox to thaw for the next meal, and take the thawed ones out and briefly warm the bag in warm water for that meal.

By Golden LoverVerified Purchaser from Billings, Mt on 11/9/2006
Pros:
Animal Likes It, Improves Coat, Nutritional
Best Uses:

I have a dog with Cancer, it was recommended by a Vet Nutritionist. The dog with cancer is doing great. He was given a few days to a few weeks to live at the end of September 2006. He is perfectly fine and happy. He has no sign of advancing disease. I know it will not cure cancer, but to prolong life it is worth it. I have been feeding all my dogs this and they are acting like puppies again, and the youngest is 7 years old.

Great Raw Food!
By Nibby's MomVerified Purchaser from Memphis, TN on 10/6/2006
Pros:
High Quality
Best Uses:
As a supplement to kibble

My English Mastiff scarfs down her dry kibble and supplements when I add a few medallions of this raw food. I simply defrost 3-4 pieces of any of the meats for 3 minutes and add them to her food. She looks great and licks her bowl! I wash her bowl after each feeding due to using raw meat, but otherwise it couldn't be easier. Try a few bags, You and your pup will enjoy the results!

The Best Commercial Cat Food
By Pet LoverVerified Purchaser from San Francisco, CA on 9/11/2006
Pros:
Durable, Good Value, High Quality

This food is formulated for both dogs and cats. In my opinion, it's too high in protein for most dogs, but it's excellent for cats. I strongly prefer it over Primal's cat food since Primal includes salmon and fish is toxic for many cats (including mine.) It would be even better if it had a lower proportion of fruits and vegetables, but so far it's the best commercial cat food I've found.
