A long-time pug owner, my pugs enjoy tripe for the skin/coat benefits. This particular tripe, however failed to WOW! them. They ate it, reluctantly- without the gusto that they usually show with my other 100% tripe product. I tried this to see if they would like it, but they didn't like it nearly as much as the competitors product (which I can't name) This food was wetter and contained potatoes. The prior food, which I am switching back to, was firm-very firm and had no added ingredients but water and some type of natural flavor, I forget. Point I am trying to make. Dogs go bonkers for tripe, just perhaps not THIS tripe soft food. Sorry green cow........ PUG MOM
As a breeder I mix Solid Gold Green Tripe Canned Food with a Ultra Premium Kibble I feed this everyday for five days and change on the two days a week I feed something else.
I'm adding a little of this to a canned prescription diet for an old dog with urinary tract issues. She now will eat the prescribed food.
My cats...I have three..one a three month old kitten, an 11 year old persian with kidney disease and a huge maine Coone male, 3 years old..and they all chow on this green tripe like its the best thing ever!!!
Simba my blue abby is a bit picky about his canned food, but he goes nuts over the Solid Gold green tripe. It's a lil stinky but I guess that's a plus for a cat.
Came across S.G. Green Cow Tripe by accident, now we refuse to be without it. It has helped us by clearing up puppy diarrea in our two puppies. I use to give the puppies vitamins now I don't, the puppies can get all their vitamins from their dry food cause of their Tripe. We feed it to our 3 dogs Jack Russell(DOB 5/10/07), Jack/Dachshund mix(DOB 6/19/07) & a VERY senior Belgian Sheepdog(DOB `bout `96). It has maximized the dry Solid Gold food they get, they have MORE energy & better coats while eatting less. The dogs get their S.G. Tripe once a day first thing in the morning, I do a mix of S.G. Tripe, S.G. Seameal, S.G. Flax Seed Oil & S.G. S.E.P. I tell everybody about it!!! My husband agrees the dogs cannot be without the S.G. Tripe!
My two Great Danes are very picky eaters and it has been very hard to keep weight on them. This is the one and only thing I can always count on to entice them to eat. I mix their kibble thouroughly into it and they eagerly eat everything! I love that it is less expensive than the other brand of canned tripe. And I trust this brand more.
our rescue puppy Wire fox terrier thinks it is the best thing he has eaten - EVER! He runs for the bowl - he would not eat anything he was so suspicious like we were poisoning him he would run from the bowl. Daddy thinks it smells gross and hates it but the angels do not care they love it and it is great for them - I have to admit is is yucky but I dont eat it either@!
Our 3 dogs go nuts for this stuff--and it's good for them too! I mix it with their dry food & include it in their raw diet meals for added nutrition. The breeder we purchased our male Shepherd from recommended feeding green tripe. They have raised & trained German Sheperds for over 30 yrs for police work as well as pets and feed tripe to increase stamina & help prevent bloat. I will definitely keep buying it!
