I recently got a 9 month old kitten. He was fed another highly marketed brand by his owner, so, I contined with that brand, thinking nothing of it. Although he loved it, I noticed he was always hungry forcing me to give him snacks. Also, his stools just didn't seem right. I did my research and could not believe what was in that top name brand (corn byproducts and useless fillers)! After hours of research, I decided to try out this product because I felt it fit my checklist of what I was looking for, mainly, that it was healthy and natural. I was scared that he may not like it after having the "better tasting" top brand, but I was wrong. He loves Ultramix! After a month of using it, I already notice the difference. His coat is shinier, he is more energetic, and he does not need snacks to refuel. The unhealthy fillers have been replaced by proteins and vitamins!
I love this food--my cats would probably prefer the taste of other foods (like Science Diet)--but they still eat this brand. I didn't like all of the grain that Science Diet (and other brands) put into their food. I know that all dry foods will have grain in them (to keep the food together)--but at least the first ingredient in this cat food isn't--YELLOW GROUND CORN--you know what I mean? :)
There have been several foods I would like my cats to eat but this was one they wouldn't eat. NOthing goes to waste, if the 13 won't eat it then the strays get it. I think it's a great product and if starting with a kitten I'm sure they would eat it, just not old spoiled rotten cats.
I'm sure it is healthy but, my cat will not touch
it. If a food is nutritious but, a cat will not eat it, what good is it.
This cat food has improved all the cats coats (their coats are like rabbit fur!), has resolved skin issues and allergies, has thinned out fat cats and has stopped the vomiting that other cat foods caused(I used to feed Iams and sometimes Science Diet). I feed almost 40 cats and have fed that many for over 30 years. This is the best cat food I've ever used!
