My cats are extremely fussy and have short attention spands with it comes to food. It's the first time I've seen them clean their dishes
and keep looking for more!!! Thank You HALO.
Around his 2nd year, my young male cat developed urinary crystals and experienced a nearly fatal urinary blockage. This terrible incident called my attention to his diet (a popular brand crunchy food).
After researching and trying almost every 'natural' product on the market at that time, I found Spot's Stew. Four years later, Mr. Ting is a handsome, healthy, slim, shiny guy. And most importantly, no trips to the vet for ANY reason!
Would he rather eat popular brand wet foods or any crunchy food? Of course he would. Just as I would like eating cheese curls instead of sprouts. But, we don't and for good reason - our health.
Skeptics, try it again for the best health of your cat(s).
Thank you, Halo, for such a wonderful product.
We have 5 kitties of different ages and health conditions. I give all of them natural pet food, and have to watch what I feed them because of allergies, FUS, and kidney disease prevention. I had bought the spot's stew for cats (original w/ chicken) before and they wouldn't touch it. I bought it again recently because I was out of their usual food which I have to order or drive across town to buy, and I wanted to give them something with simple ingredients for the allergy sensitive and FUS cats and lots of veggies for the senior/kidney sensitive cats. I mixed the spot's stew in with some 100% chicken cat food that was also for sale at the same store and they loved it. Now I don't have to mix it with anything and they eat it, veggies and all. I think the 'runny-ness' of the stew is what they did not like at first but mixing it with another canned food eliminated that and allowed them to try it and they loved the taste. As far as digestive issues I have not had any yet, but from experience I do know that switching diets at all especially when you go to something with vegetables and/or higher quality meat and less fillers can upset their stomachs if they aren't introduced gradually, especially if they have been on something with a lot of fillers or grains or a lower quality food. I don't plan on feeding this to them daily but I'm sure I could and I will be giving it to them regularly as an alternate to their usual food.
I buy this stew for my dogs, because it doesn't have any pasta, grain, potato or other major starch in it. Then I add some more canned chicken to increase the protein a bit, plus a little bone meal. The dogs love it, and digest it very well. I'm getting very nervous seeing the new stews for cats that include pasta. I really hope they don't quit making the original recipe!

The first couple cans of this I put out, my seven cats seemed to really enjoy; however, now they will not touch the stuff. Halo products have made my cats go from never throwing up to throwing up all the time! I had to take this and the Halo dry food away from them to clear up their stomach irritation! No other products that I have tried have caused as much tummy upset as these!
I had high hopes for this food, but I do not think I would ever purchase again.

My female 17 year old cat loves this. My vet said to keep her on a low protein catfood and she always has loved the wet cat foods, so this is perfect for her. I wasn't sure she'd like it since it has peas and green beans as well as meat in it, but she immediately at it all. My other cat doesn't like it, though, but he rarely likes wet cat foods.

my cats were only lukewarm to this product. They're very fussy about their food! Doesn't mean some cats wouldn't like it.

This is great...looks like homemade, smells like homemade...I wanted to taste it. I used it for my house cats only. I have Andi Brown's book, which has the recipe for Spots Stew, and have made it at home for both cats and dogs. It, too, is very good, but quite a lot of work because I feed two dogs and five indoor cats. Because this product is quite expensive, I'm debating order more versus making it at home.

A grain free low-no carb recipe for cats. Impossible to find. This smells like chicken soup. My cat loves this. At first she was a little turned off by it, since it doesn't have an intensely nasty smell like most cat foods do, but now she gobbles it up like anything else. I give her all different kinds of grain-free cat food, just so that she won't get finicky or stuck on one kind, and to make sure she's definitely getting all of the nutrients she needs. She also eats some of the dog's food, so she's still getting a little grain from that, but it's okay. I usually mix canned food in with her Innova Evo kibble, but this is so watery that I have to put it in a separate bowl.
The person that produces this food wrote a book called "The Whole Pet Diet". That book gives the recipe for this food. If you have just a little time and freezer space, it's a fraction of the price to follow the recipe, toss all of the ingredients in a crockpot, and when it's done cooking, portion it and freeze it in small tupperware containers.

It seems to satisfy both my finicky eater cats.
Wonderful for dogs. But none of our 5 cats would touch it.

I had heard about this food, and so decided to try it. It does look and smell great for PEOPLE, but cats are not people. It literally looks like a stew and has way too many vegetables, more than any cat would eat "in the wild" as an obligate carnivore. My cats didn't touch it. There was a stray cat living in the neighborhood, so I put it outside for him with some dry food, and he ate some of the dry food but would not touch this stuff. I think us as cat owners have to remember that what looks good to us is not what looks good to them.

I have had two cats die of Kidney Failure because of using a wrong diet, one even recommended by mainstream vets. I regret my other two cats did not have this quality of diet.
My new Russian blue had a blocked urinary issue and
had to be rushed to emergency two yrs ago. My vet insisted that he would be having problems after that episode. But after consulting with a wholistic vet, showing her the Spot's stew diet, she agreed that this would be the best possible diet for my male Russian blue.
Miraculously his weight stays perfect, his urine remains ph balanced, and he looks gorgeous and is
a very happy kitty.
Spot's stew with it's high water content is perfect. He is not allowed any "crunchy" food, however I do allow him a few morsels of Organix as a snack or treat.
No health problems for over 2 years now.
We're both very happy.

I read a lot about this food while in the process of switching my cats over to healthier foods. With a large, multi-cat household, this is a little pricey, but I want my kitties to be healthy and decided to try a can. When I opened it, the smell was heavenly and the food looked good enough for humans to eat. Unfortunately, I could not get my kitties to eat this, even with mashing the vegetables and adding some treats. I will say that my cats tend to have strange tastes - most of them will not eat tuna. I am still going to recommend this because I believe most animals will love it - it smells that good. I may try this again and mix it with something I know they love - I do feel this food is worth the effort of enticing my cats into eating it.
This food is the REASON that our cat is still alive. After nursing our cat back to health from a near death experience with fatty liver disease, we switched her over to this food.
At each check up, the vet is STILL continually shocked at how well she has healed and how great she looks. Her coat is beautiful and it's like years have been giving back to her. It is shocking and disgusting what fillers are in other foods. If you can't do a raw diet, Spots Stew is the next best answer for your dog/cat.
We would be lost without this product, it is worth every penny!
