I was pleaseantly surprised at how my cats took to the food so quickly. And it smelled so good to the human nose too. They looked forward to each meal and I looked forward to each new variety or combination of foods. Merrick is a great brand of food and I would definitely recommend it to my "cat" friends.

Two years ago I adopted a kitty rescued in February almost froze to death. The vet nursed him back to health (worms, fleas, mites, etc.). When I brought him home his coat of fur was course and then, he was underweight, and on top of that needed a root canal for a broken fang. I immediately started him on the Merrick canned cat foods, and within 2 months his fur was beautiful and he was in excellent health. The vet was absolutely amazed at his quick return to such good health. I told him about the Merrick cat food, and he said he would check it out. Today Buddy is my velcro cat, always by my side. Thank you for offering such a wonderful product, especially after the scare with other cat foods sold over the past few years.

This is the only Merricks that has somewhat of a marinade. My cat loves to just lick marinade off her soft cat food. So she loves this flavor. I have tried the others but, she loses interest in them very quickly. So if your cat just loves marinade, this is the soft or wet food for him/her.

My extremely finicky 13 year old cat loves this food. When I first ordered it I kept notes on the ones she liked best. But I soon realized that she liked all of them the best. I especially like the fact that this is made of human grade products and that all aspects of manufacturing are in Texas.

My cat really doesn't eat "wet" cat food. She just likes to lick the marinade off it. That's why she loves this Merrick New England Boil flavor, as it is almost all liquid with just a little actual food. She will eat some of the food part, but really just loves to enjoy the liquid portion. I give her a fourth of a can a day for breakfast. At lunch she has her Fancy Feast with marinade. Rest of the time she eats her dry cat food. I have noticed that her coat is shiny again after using this Merrick cat food.

Merrick has some funny flavors (Southern Delight or Cowboy Cookout, anyone?) and my cats love some and have their reservations about others, but the consensus seems to be that it is overall tasty. It looks like high quality food to me. Many of the flavors are grain-free, so check the label for that! Some are a little "soupy" but I consider this a good thing to get some extra moisture onto their menu. Compared to similar quality foods, Merrick cans are a bargain.

I'm using the Turducken and Grammy's Pot Pie. I swear, it looks like something you'd put on your own dinner plate! I like a rotation diet and am very happy to include this. My cat has allergies and the ingredients work nicely with this problem. She also likes the flavors quite well. No leftovers. Consistency of the Turducken is more like a stew and the Grammy's is more solid and I know that many cats have preferences for this. Merrick's reputation is great and meant a lot in my decision making. I'd highly recommend these products.

This is the only "healthy" cat foods that my 3yr old indoor only male cat will eat.
Tried Granny's Pot Pie first - a hit. Now purchase Thanksgiving Dinner, Cowboy Cookout, and Turduckin.
I have had problems with previous cats, illness, and traditional grocery canned food. I do not have time to make my own raw mix. Merrick is a great solution.
No comment on the seafood ones - silly guy will not touch seafood fresh or canned.

I have been feeding a spoonful to my kitten mixed with his normal dry kibble and he goes CRAZY as soon as he sees the can!
I love that you can actually see what you're feeding him... you see the rice, apples, carrots, different meats etc. It's great!
I also get a kick out of the names of the flavors!

I like that this cat food has a lot of moisture in it because my cat loves gravy. The only thing my cat doesn't like is peas or the smell of peas. But she enjoyed most of the flavors.

I recently switched both of my 7 year old cats to this product from Science Diet after having done some research on the nutritional value of the food I had been feeding my cats for years. I wasn't sure they would like the product having grown up on Science Diet; but, they absolutely devour this food!! My one cat has problems with her coat (dry, flaky skin) and after having fed her this food for a few weeks I have noticed a remarkable difference in her fur. It is much softer, silkier and less dry. My two cats are also indoor cats and had been putting on weight, even with Science Diet Light. Since switching to this food, they eat less, have more energy and have been gradually losing weight. Additionally, they are more active then I have seen them be since they were kittens!!
I would highly recommend this food!!
Awesome. I buy it on the repeat thingy so I don't have to remember to re-buy.

I have 2 cats, one is a kitten and the other is a 3 year old "special needs" cat... Both love all flavors of Merrick Cat Food & I love it because I don't have to buy 2 different kinds of cat food!!

What's not to like about this food my cat loves it her coat is glossy her eyes sparkle and the cost of this food is a good deal also. I mix the liquid into the food and this cuts down on the mess factor.

My 2 cats freak for Cowboy Cookout! My dog loves it too. It is the one flavor everybody agrees on. Energy, coats, and eyes all sparkle!

This brand is one of the healthier cat food formulations on the market and I highly recommend it for every cat. My cats just love almost every flavor combination in this line. They are trim, fit and incredibly healthy 12 year olds and I have to believe that their diet is one of the main reasons.

My cats are very picky when it comes to soft food. I have sampled many soft food brands without much enthusiasm from my two cats. When I placed this on the floor, my older cat ate the whole serving without stopping! She loved it so much that when my younger cat came around to check out what she was eating, she growled at him to back off. I had never seen this eating behavior from her before. I received the same reaction from my younger cat, as well. I will continue to buy this product and especially this flavor.

Our three cats fight to eat this brand. we have one older kitty with kidney disease in moderate level and his appetite is not great all the time. Merrick stimulates him to eat and he gobbles ANY flavor I give him! And he gets extra liquid from the juice found in some of the flavors too! [...]

The other day I ran out of the Merrick but still
had some of the 9 Lives left so I mixed the two
and all Princess ate was the Merrick and left the
9 lives in the dish. I guess that's all the proof
I need to see. Her coat has a much silkier feel, she sheds less and doesn't throw up after she eats The transition to a premium food was very easy, she never refused to eat it.

As a owner of 4 cats, I would like to see it come in larger sized cans. They love the gravy part & sometimes leave the morsels behind (Thanksgiving Dinner), so I blend it up first.

I have an older cat in renal failure (2 years) Merrick products are ideal because they have consistant protein products no by-products, no additives, all of the bad things that the kidneys have to additionally work to clear out. I love all of their canned food cat and dog. Does not smell like ordinary canned food!

My 2 cats switched from "Science Diet" to Merrick with no problems. I assume that to them the food tastes better. I inspected each can on my own and noticed the pieces of real food and vegetable.
I would recommend that food to anybody -- the product is inexpensive and provides good alternative to "premium" cat foods offered by grocery or pet stores.

The cats especially seem to love the extra moisture content, and I find these perfect for times when I have to give medication. My kitties are too busy gobbling down the food to notice there's medicine in it, too!

The variety pack is a good way to get an idea of what your cats will really go for. The one I thought they would really like they won't eat. So far they like all of them except Grammys pot pie and Thanksgiving dinner. This really surprises me because real turkey is a favorite treat. Everything else has been a hit and I'm glad because the cost is reasonable for a well made product.

My cat is allergic to most everything in "normal" cat food (chicken, tuna, lamb, corn), but I tried the surf & turf and he LOVES it (he can eat Salmon, turkey, beef)! I tried the Thanksgiving Dinner, he likes that, but not as well. I like the smaller cans too....easy to control their intake.

I have been switching my three cats to a rotating diet of different high-quality organic, holistic, natural foods. I have fed canned and dry Merrick, Wysong, Eagle Pack, Innova Evo, Newman's Own, Evangers, etc. I was worried that my cats would be finniky about changing foods frequently, but there have been no complaints, especially on Merrick nights! They devour almost every Merrick flavor, and MEEEEOOOW for Merrick more than any of the other canned brands we have tested! Their coats are amazing! My oldest cat used to get digestive upset almost daily on his former dry store-bought diet. He has had only a handful of upsets on our new rotating diet, and he has NEVER had a digestive upset on a Merrick night. This is a HUGE and much welcomed change!

Me and my cats love the Merrick food. When I placed my first order I individually picked the cans. The second round of ordering I ordered 2 of the gourmet packs. I noticed when I opened the Gourmet packs there was more juice than chunks of meat. Plus I noticed my cats wouldn't always finish the food like they did before. Not sure why the gourmet pack was "runnier" than ordering the can individually or I just got 2 bad packs. Next time I'll order the cans individually. Overall its much better than the other “non-natural” food.

Our home has an older cat with health issues, a finicky cat and a younger, very active cat...all 3 love this food! Our older cat has been able to come off of medication (per his vet!) we were told he would be on for the rest of his life, really has improved his overall health. The finicky cat looks forward to meals, and the younger one....he just loves to eat!

I have been buying the lunch boxes as samples to try for my cats, who like variety. I am now buying cases of the ones they prefer. I was disappointed with the case of Cowboy Cookout that I recently purchased as it was very watery, but after calling the Merrick, they are replacing the case as watery food is "rare' occurrence. Grammies Pot Pie and thanksgiving Dinner are two favorites, Lobster Boil is another.

I started using this during the Menu foods recall after researching products. My cats absolutely love it. They clean the plate immediately. I have found they don't like chunkier foods and this has a nice even consistency. It smells fresh - like people food - and has a quality list of ingredients. No messier than other canned foods. Pricier but worth it. I just wish they had a dry cat food too!

Merrick Gourmet Canned Cat Food has interesting names for their foods, I ordered all most every can, and every can looked like runny brown grits. Naturally my cat took a whiff and turned her nose up at it. She didn't like not a one. What a waste. It's like they make a puree out of their food. I find my cat will eat chunky foods rather than slushy mush. I don't blame her.

After the terrible poisioning experience, in which two of my dogs got sick, I began calling food manufactures to inquire about the origin of their ingredients. When I called Merrick, it was not a "switchboard" but rather a person that spoke to me and listened while I went on a rant about this whole situation. They patiently explained to my satisfaction, the entire process of food production- from start to finish! My cat loves the Granny Pot pie that is people quality. I am so glad I am feeding something with a company that is paying close attention to quality control.

Southern Delight is one of the best flavors that they have here.
my cat is very picky and would turn her nose up at meow mix.
With this flavor, she has not refused it, in fact , she went for seconds and thirds.

I've tried several brands of cat canned organic food for my 4 cats, ages 2 through 18. and they really like the flavors. They particularly enjoyed Cowboy Cookout(made with real cowboys, no doubt) and Surf & Turf.
I was so pleased that for a change they cleaned their plates and no food went to waste. Much more economical when they really eat their food instead of just a nibble because they are hungry. This reduces the amount of food I give them as they utilise it all!!!

Merrick's Thanksgiving Day Dinner was listed in a recent issue of Catnip (published by Tufts Veterinary School) as the #1 choice in a canned cat food test, and was given perfect scores for both taste and nutritional value. The article is what prompted me to try this food for my four cats and I am very pleased with the results. Their coats are noticably more shiny and silky to the touch. One of my cats frequently vomited after eating, but that now happens only on rare occasion. If providing good nutrition for your pet is a concern, I highly recommend this food.
