My cats are getting older and have gained some weight so I switched to this food because I have had good experience with Wellness, and I like the fact that it's natural. I slowly began to switch mixing more and more with their old food. The higher percentage of Wellness I fed them, the softer their stool got. By the time the switch was complete they were often close to diarrhea. I gave them two months to adjust and it never improved so finally I switched them again to a different food and everything returned to normal.
I've had other cats that didn't have this problem so feel free to give it a try, but be aware it doesn't agree with some cats. They did however like the taste and they did lose a weight while they were on it so it was good for that.
My experience with Wellness products is very positive!
Real ingredients and the lowest fat content I've seen. When our overweight cat came down with pancreatitis (we nearly lost her), the vet prescribed some very expensive "low fat" food that was primarily chicken by-product meal (digested feathers). Who would feed that to a cat? Wellness Healthy Weight is lower fat, the cat loves it (it even smells good to people).
I don't eat the stuff but my cats do and seem to enjoy it. It's nice to know the next time some of the junk cat food is recalled I'll be safe.
My picky cat loves this food - and unlike other weight management foods, she doesn't ask for more than the suggested serving. In fact, she eats less! This food doesn't have the increased sodium or sugars that a lot of weight management foods add to make it palatable. Great stuff!
Several years ago when my 10 year old male cat began having urinary tract blockages and I was afraid I might lose him, I began studying the quality of available cat foods in depth.
The very best dry food I discovered was Wellness by Old Mother Hubbard and he loved it. I also purchased Wellness canned food for him, and began to prepare frozen meals of fresh chicken mixed with a powder that mimics what animals get in "the wild". He recovered completely and has been in excellent health since. I highly endorse Old Mother Hubbard's Wellness foods. They really do promote wellness!!
my daughter turned us on to this...great nutrition and no need to worry about what's in it, as you do with many other pet foods... In addition, controls weight without sacrificing nutrition, so our kitty is bouncier and sleeker.

I've had Stella for almost 6 years, and for the last 4 have been feeding weight control food. However, she has been "bulemic" so to speak - always binging and purging, no matter how small/frequent the meals. With this food she almost NEVER throws up anymore, and I can fill the bowl and she will "graze" like a normal cat! She seems to like the food, eating the full recommended amount daily. I'm THRILLED!

My cats love it. They don't exercise much and were becoming overweight, but this food allows me to feed them less while keeping them healthy and full until the next meal. They used to eat another weight control food from the vet, but its main ingredient was cornmeal and it was just as expensive. I'm glad I switched to Wellness. Everyone says how beautiful their coat is too!
I got a sample and gave it to my kitties. They couldn't get enough. We have two kinds of crunchies for them and they eat 5 bowls of Wellness brand to one of the other. There are no messy bits left with Wellness like there are with the brands that are shaped like stars. My kitties loves it and I am so happy to have a healthy food to feed them.
