After feeding my cats Castor & Pollux Ultramix Feline, I decided to switch my dog to their brand as well. We've had him for a year and a half and he's always left portions of his food in the bowl. He'd never eat when initially offered food, but would leave it till he was really hungry or else we'd feed it to him by hand. Now as soon as he hears us dishing up his food he comes running to get it, eats it all right away and licks the bowl clean.
Another reviewer mentioned that the fruit and veggie chunks were not in the big bag, but we ordered the 30lb and they are in there. Perhaps that had been a manufacturer error.
His tummy took a few days to adjust, so if you have a dog with a sensitive stomach maybe mix with his old food before switching completely. Now he is doing fine.
My dog lost his enthusiasm for eating his old dog food, which was Nutro. After trying some other brands he still was not eating well. I decided to try the Ultramix and he loves it. He actually gets on his hind legs and can't wait for me to put the bowl down. He is 4 years old now and he has not acted like this for dog food since he was a puppy. He eats every last bit of it. I'm very impressed. It smells good and it has dried fruits and veggies in it. I feel good feeding him this food as it does not have meat by products, fillers, etc. I would highly recommned this brand.
This product is good enough for me to eat. It smells great. There are small bites of dried veggies (carrots and others). Strangely however the large bags are not the same as described so you must buy the 6 lb bags...go figure.
