Our terrier has an underbite which makes it difficult for her to chew kibble. We had a very hard time getting her to eat, but once we switched her to the Honest Kitchen, she gobbles up her food!

I was feeding my dog another brand of raw type dry food. After a NAET session with our new vet; my puppy tested clear for your food. Our puppy was very excited about your food from the moment I opened the bag! Then he got to eat it. He also now eats a combination of Embark and Thrive! Rave review from the puppy Orion!

I feed Honest Kitchen to all my dogs. Thrive is my choice for my retrievers though. They must have enough nutrients to do their job and this food sure provides that! They absolutely adore it and have blossomed. We're tried all meat or mostly meat diets and the high protein did them no good. We are absolutely convinced that dogs are omnivores and Thrive is wonderful. My retrievers couldn't be doing better.

My dogs have absolutely flourished on Thrive. Their health has bloomed and their coats have blossomed. They have become the perfect picture of radiant health. My vet says my boys are the picture of health. It is a gluten free food, which is wonderful for my dog who is gluten intolerant. I have two seniors and one adult, and all three love this food. My oldest boy is very sensetive and this diet has done wonders for him.

Nikki, my 13 year old Great Pyrenees, loves this food. I've read the ingredients several times, and still can't believe how great it is! She is able to digest Thrive very easily. She licks her bowl clean every night. It is a very good price for what you are getting.

Great for finicky dogs or dogs with bad teeth. It's easy for them to eat, and I rotate the different varieties for more nutritional value.

I looked long & hard for a gluten free dog food & this is one of the only ones I found. My dogs LOVE it! They like it on its own, but I also mix it half & half w/a homemade recipe of ground turkey, brown rice, green beans & sweet potatoes.

Great quality product

Cons:
Doesn't re-hydrate as qui

This product works great for those that want to feed a raw diet but have a busy lifestyle or their dog can't handle actual raw food. It's great for my older dog that can't handle the raw all the time and can no longer tolerate alot of variety in his diet that changes daily.

It's also a great addition to the raw diet I feed my other dogs. Having the option to add raw meat, meaty bones, cooked meat or giving the food plain is a great way to introduce the variety in diet important to dogs.

However, it does take longer to re-hydrate than stated on the package even with very hot water.

I belong to a group of Cavalier King Charles Spaniel enthusiasts. NOTHING is too good for their dogs! They highly recommend Honest Kitchen. I have home-made my dogs' food for years, supplemented by an ultra quality dry dog food. Honest Kitchen gives me a break from cooking, my dogs love it, and the ingredients are beyond reproach. Thanks, HK! Donna

I find the reconstitution very simple and my dog licks every trace away. We started with Embark (the most expensive), tried Verve (I couldn't bear the smell), and have settle on Thrive, which is a little more economical than Embark and has a neutral odor. Ringo's stools are less offensive on this diet, and he is happy and healthy. I have begun adding some dry food for crunch and to try to slow down his eating, but he's perfectly healthy on the Thrive diet alone.

I have a senior Lab mix. I have been feeding her Thrive food mixed with a few kibbles or meat toppings- she loves it! It is easy to prepare a lot of food at once, and smells good (although it can get a bit messy in the preparation). I like the fact that it contains quinoa, veggies, and chicken, and NO added sugars, salts, or anything nasty. I recommend getting a sample size and trying your dog on it!

Excellent for TRAVELING!!!
By kerschbergerVerified Purchaser from santa fe nm on 10/7/2007

Dog Likes It, Easy To Digest, Nutritional, Tasty
Best Uses:
Active Dogs, Larger Dogs, Older Dogs, Puppies, Smaller Dogs, Special Needs
Describe Yourself:
Breeder, Dog Trainer, Multiple Dog Owner
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

If i only had a few dogs, this is what i'd feed for sure! I'd add true raw to it but due to being a breeder I can't afford that. HOWEVER, this is great to take with you when you travel. For me driving with 10 German Shepherd dogs to a show faraway bringing a 50 lb bag of dog food or a 10lb bucket is a huge convenience.
I also noticed i didn't need to get my dogs 'used' to it. The switch was without problems, an added bonus for when we travel.
