It must taste good

I feed this food to my two 16 year old chihuahua's, my 12 year old chihuahua, and my 8 year old Westie. The Westie will eat anything, but the chihuahua's are as picky as they come. If they like it, it must taste good. The only negative for feedng it to very small, older dogs is that you might have to break it up - which is what I do. This is time consuming and I wish Inova made a SENIOR small bite food. But I am willing to do this since they actually like it and I know Inova is good food. It shows up on many, many lists of best dog foods.

I feed this food to my 3 senior age (15 plus years old)chihuahua's. Chihuahua's can be very picky (and mine are) but they love this food. I soak it in hot water to soften it. This is the only dry food I have found that they will actually eat. I also feed it to my 8 yr old Westie and 5 yr old terrier mix, along with the Inova Small Bites.

Our Dog Prefers Innova

Pros:
Dog Likes It, Good Value, Nutritional

This dog food was recommended to us by a dog nutritionists that we consulted after the pet food scare. We had put our dog on Flint River, which we thought smelled so great when we put a little water on it. We did a taste test with our dog between this and the other food, and he preferred this one! Even though to us, the other one smelled better. When we switched him it seemed as though he got alot more energy. Great food! (Flint River Ranch is also a great food, any dog food that is natural with no additives is far better than anything you can get in the pet store. Our dog just seemed to prefer this one better tastewise, but it could be different for your dog. Giving them a taste test between a few samples is a great idea!).

Excellent food
By Three pupsVerified Purchaser from Fredericksburg, VA on 5/11/2007
Pros:
Durable, Good Kibble Shape, Good Value, Has supplements for joint, Healthy, High Quality
Cons:
Can't find it locally
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

I have two bichons that are both 8 yrs. old. One bichon has food allergies and is a very picky eater. She has been on Hills Prescription Diets, Royal Canin Prescription Diets, and many other foods to help her with her food sensitivities. I have found that with these Prescription diets, some contain bad preservatives. I recently switched my bichons to this food after the Royal Canine Sensitive Skin, which is what I was feeding, was recalled. Since that time, I have seen no itching, both bichons go to the bathroom regularly (which was rare for my one with allergies), both eat all of the kibble, and both seem to feel better and have more energy. Also, I like the shape of the kibble because my other bichon is a gobbler, and the kibble shape makes her bite each piece, which helps clean her teeth. I also like the fact that there is glucosamine and chondroitin added. One of my bichons has bad knees, which is common in this breed. Thanks INNOVA!!!

Before I discovered Innova I was constantly changing my dog's dry food because he would refuse to eat it after couple of days. We stay with Innova about 7 years now. My dog loves it.
