My "mature" springer gets the 95% EVO mixed in with Dr. Harvey's Canine Health and I've been absolutely amazed at how young and energetic he has become. His skin issues have all but disappeared. My younger springer gets the same combo but different proportions and his coat and health are amazing.

This duck not for my little guy
By Ricky's MomVerified Reviewer from Houston, TX on 6/11/2008
Cons:
Causes Irritation, Hard to Digest
Describe Yourself:
Long-time Pet Owner

I have an 11 lb. yorkie and we tried the duck with him. He gobbled it up, but within an hour it came back up. Did not set well with him at all. The beef is better, but very small servings. I think this food is probably too rich for my little guy.

Only Natural Pet Store Response:It's always a good idea to introduce new foods slowly, particularly with sensitive breeds. Dogs not accustomed to protein dense foods need to be acclimated to it with small portions to let their systems adjust.

I started Jack on this product six months ago and have seen awesome results! He loves the food and barks for it as soon as we get home in the evening! His coat has become shinier and smoother, and he has lost a few pounds to get back to a normal weight range. He loves it!

I started this diet after reading, "The Food Pets Die For" and realizing a total RAW (or BARF) Diet, just wasn't for us...

My dogs get a lot of meat and chicken. I either cook for them or they get left overs mixed with dry food and cheese. I use this on days I don't cook or have leftovers for them. They are kind of picky but don't mind eating this. It saves time and I feel good knowing it's more nutritious, not full of fillers etc. They've tried all the flavors and seem to prefer the beef the best. The chicken and venison next, in that order. The rabbit is pricey and they didn't like it so the neighbor Rott got it.

I was really really surprised. I wanted to give my dogs (and me!) a break from my home-cooking (diet based on turkey and chicken which they love) and try something new. I thought they'd go crazy over this.

My protein chow hound (who is on turkey) actually disliked the smell and taste; and when the food finally made its way through, the stools were weird - it freaked me out. They smelled *exactly* like the canned food itself. I could smell the stool from way down the garden. What the heck do they use for their 'natural flavors' I wonder? And it had they same orange-y color too. Obviously not that well digested ... this with a dog who normally digests meat down to nothing.

My other dog, who isn't really supposed to have this type of high-protein meal, quite liked the food - however, she's a real junkfood addict, so maybe that's not a compliment to the EVO canned food.
She loves novelty, and ate two portions; but after that she wasn't interested any more either - surprising again, because she'd normally pounce on any protein-high food.

So, all in all, not what I had expected and a bit of a disappointment.

There were no issues with nausea or tummy upset, so I'm satisfied that there was nothing wrong with the individual can and its contents.

I also tried the other canned Innova food, and that was a total disaster. They really did not want to touch it.
So it looks like they simply do not appreciate the Innova/EVO type of formula and flavor in their moist foods.
The Innova and EVO baked biscuits are a completely different matter - they love those!

Our dog has autoimmune disease so we have to be extemely careful about what he eats. I use the canned venison in small portions. I add a little to his food (so he is sure to eat it and any medication it might contain). I also use it to hide a pill in if needed. I like being able to incorporate canned food into his diet without worrying about it containing anything harmful.

My Dog is a little older and a little heavier. He is a rescue and I know little about his past eating, but every other food I would give him would make him sick after a coupld of weeks. He has been consistant on innov EVO for 3 months and he has not gotten sick. It is amazing, and he lost a little weight, and the best part is that he goes CRAZY for it! It was the best find!

I won't feed my pets anything but innova

Durable, Good Value, High Quality, No Gluten
Cons:
Expensive

Thank god my pets have always been on this product.
Its still not on the recall list and probably never will be. This is the safest pet food available as far as I'm concerned. My dogs love it and it keeps their coats silky and shiny. This is the only product that they haven't regurgitated. I highly recommend this pet food. You have two choices, you can feed them innova or cook for them like you cook for yourself.
