My dog knows when the can is cracked open, he's getting good food. I like all of the whole ingredients, no fillers, grains, etc. Its just a little costly, but is good for the dog.

Although mixed breeds are usually healthier, we rescued the one exception -- a 7 month old terrier mix with REALLY serious digestive problems! After almost $2000 in vet bills the first year, he is doing MUCH better with Instinct chicken canned and Innova dry (we had to experiment to find something he'd like, too). High quality food = smaller meals = less work by the digestive tract = smaller stools and NO MORE bloody messes. What a godsend to us and to him -- even better than the Hill's i/d!

I have 3 Pekingese who eat rotate with the Instinct canned and frozen raw.
One of the Pekes had chronic sebaceous cysts for the past 8 years which had to be removed surgically once a year.
Since I switched to the grain-free NV diet, the dog has not had any new cysts.
So even though this food is more expensive than the average, I am SAVINGS $$ IN VET BILLS so it is well worth it!

Because of allergies, I switched to duck & vegetables. They love it! They have more energy, coats are thick & shiny, and allergy symptoms are much improved. Even the picky eater is happy. It's a little pricey but I just mix a spoonful with their dry food. Besides they are worth it!
This is an outstanding canned product. I rotate is with NVP Freeze-dried Raw and mix it with a combination of NVP Instinct Turkey & Duck and Nature's Variety Prairie Chicken & Rice Medley. A little pricy, but so is fresh meat. This is an excellent alternative to fresh meat and my dogs are worth it!
My three dogs are enjoying the food and seem to look healthier that they did. They all crowd around to "supervise" the can opening and distribution into their bowls. I also use the juices mixed in with their kibble and they love it.
