Print This PageWithin 5 days, my Golden Retriever's skin and ear issues were improving and after 10-days, they were gone. It did cause her to have more gas than usual and we didn't like this. But, to those saying that their dogs had loose stools: keep on it for at least 11 days. That's when I noticed that her stools hardened up and her body adjusted to the new food. She also has much less gas now that she's been on it for 2 weeks.

I switched to this product after changes in another product's formula caused my Basset Hound's ear and skin problems to flare up. I've been very happy with how healthy this product seems to help my dog to be. Simple ingredients with no formula changes. She is now skin and ear problem free...As long as she doesn't eat things she isn't supposed to... :-) Pretty difficult with a hound dog. :-) She loves this along with the Fish and Sweet Potato canned food. Also a good price for the quality. We'll be sticking with Wellness.

I have two Bostons on this food. They seem to really like it, however, it comes with a down side - alot of gas (much more then normal for a Boston) and loose stools, and this really concerns me.

My dog did like this food and it did help to clear her skin problems...MAJOR downside of this food for her was BAD GAS and very LOOSE STOOLS! I'm going to have to find another food... Too bad.

Both my shelties are 12 yrs young and have had skin conditions from time to time. It has improved there skin and coats markedly. There may be another side effect from this food that I am watching closely. My female has had seizures for about 10 years, about 1 per month. She has been eating the fish and potato food for a little over three months and has only had 1 episode. I am hoping it is the food that is the factor. Might help other dogs with the same problem.

We have a yellow lab who had chronic ear infections and was on constant medication. After countless vet visits and various medications, his breeder suggested that his infections were caused by a food allergy. We switched to the fish and sweet potato food and within two months his ear infections were cured. Seven months later he is still infection free. Even the vet couldn't believe it. Although the food is pretty pricey it is cheaper than spending the money on the vet!!
I would highly recommend trying this food if you suspect food allergies.
P.S.-The dog goes crazy for the taste.

This food had a great list of ingredients, and came highly recommended. However, it just did not work for my dog. He had horrible gas and loose, voluminous stools on this food. He did love the taste though.

my dog is a pitbull mix that has very bad skin
issues since using white fish and sweet potatos
referred by my vet has made the biggest difference
in her skin and ears.

My dog has helicobacter. When she wouldn't eat anything else our vet told me to get Wellness Fish and Sweet Potato. She said she has never seen a dog NOT love it! She was right. My dog loves it, has never refused it, and literally runs to her bowl to eat. I have never seen her do that with any other dog food we have tried.

This food is great! My Shar Pei is allergic to everything and used to have the worst coat condition. Since he's been on this food, his coat is shiny, healthy and full. No more skin problems either. Definately worth it!
