I've been brushing my Pets teeth for decades. The thing that I ALWAYS had a problem with. Is that they loved the taste of the toothpaste (TOO) much. This might not seem a bad thing. But, with the Boston Terriers, their mouths are shorter and it IS a challenge. Since they are trying to lick the toothbrush. I just (LOVE) this product because the taste is not as appealing. Therefore, I'm able to brush all his teeth and not have a problem. I use this about 2 times a wk. Know that I should do it everyday. But, I also try to provide him the bully sticks or a bone. Oh, and the taste (isn't) bad so, he still likes to have his teeth brushed. Probably because of the treat afterwards.
I was really hoping that my cats would take to this like some of the other people have described. They don't really seem to care for it, so I would say it does the job just like any other pet toothpaste.
We brush our greyhounds' teeth every night and I'm always looking for new toothpaste that they'll like. Our girl never shows an affinity for any of the toothpastes, she just buckles under and wants us to finish quickly. Our boy, on the other hand, will try and lick the toothpaste he likes off the brush before we begin the cleaning. I place this toothpaste in the "average" category for him - he doesn't balk at it as he has for some toothpastes, but he also doesn't try to lick it off the brush first. I personally think it smells great and I buy it periodically for them, just for a change of pace.
My pup loves the taste of this product (doesn't care for the brushing per se because he likes to chew the toothbrush). I give him a couple of tastes from the tube(I believe he thinks this is a treat) and he sits very still for his brushing (every evening). Keeps his teeth looking very good for a long time. He only has to have his teeth cleaned by the vet every 2.5 years versus every year. Keeps gums and breath in good shape. Overall, this is a wonderful product.
This product works well because dogs like the taste and the enzyme action cleans the teeth without any toxic chemicals. Product is healthy and works.
My cat actually waits on the toilet seat until I am done with my teeth because he knows he's next. He chirps when I pick him up to get started. It's the taste he likes, not necessarily the brushing. I let him have a few licks and then I have to open his mouth to get the brush in. He eats 95% wet food and the vet said his tarter was very minimal (4 years old). A little tarter on 2 upper back teeth. He snacks on dry food. He does like chewing on the triple brush also (saves me time)but it's hard on the brush. I am going to quess it feels good on his gums?? (He doesn't get raw bones) I store the brush in a glass of water with a few drops of Grapefruit Seed Extract. (Change water every 3-4 days) Rinse before use.
Brushing with anything other than Triple Pet is a hassle in our home. Leche had terrible teeth when adopted 2 years ago and we've made great progress with this product, not to mention she loves it. Won't brush with anything else. Breath is fresh too! Fantastic product!
I use this product on 2 dogs, one with perfect teeth and the other with a problem mouth. They both love the taste and that makes the process of brushing much easier.
I have 2 golden retriever puppies that love this toothpaste! I love that it is all natural. They get their teeth brushed twice a day and have no tartar and have fresh breath. The triple pet tooth brush is a real time saver as well.
