Two dogs, one 12 yrs old, the other 14 yrs. While not as effective on the older dog, his breath has really improved, and I have scheduled to have his teeth cleaned so the Dentatreat will be more effective. I am seeing definite improvement with the younger dog's teeth, and his doggy breath is gone! They really love the flavor of this product and it is a lot easier way to help keep their teeth clean than struggling with a tooth brush and a non-cooperative dog!
When I first tried this it was on a couple of old retired show dogs on the reccomendation of a friend. After 4 weeks of daily use - their teeth were clean - really clean. Matter of fact I showed one of them in the Veteran Class at a dog show and the judge commented on the beautiful clean teeth (he should have seen them a few weeks earlier)
Been using this product for about 7 months on my 2 dogs, on my 2 year old German Shepard it seems effective according to our groomer, & her breath is fine now, however does nothing on my 10 year old cocker/beagle. His breath is still bad and vet has not noticed any change in plaque problems. I sprinkle it on their food daily. Never hurts to give it a try on your dog they do both like it. It is significantly cheaper buying on line as we can get a larger size and it's a much better deal. Our local pet store claims it only came in the small size.
My dog has bad breath, regardless of how often I brush and clean his teeth, and the tarter build-up is getting bad, so I was willing to try anything. While my dog seems to love this stuff, and I am a fan of Wysong, I asked both my father, a dentist and my the vets I work with- who all said, nope, they just dont think it will work- no proof or recent studies on this products ingredients helping with plaque build-up. Also, I've noticed it has not changed his breath nor the fast rate of plaque build up on his teeth. Oh-well, at least my dog likes it on his food!
My bichons love the taste, their breath stays fresh, plus I either sprinkle it on their food or massage it on their teeth with my finger. It's slightly gritty so helps remove any plaque.
This product is well-loved by my dogs and is added two times per day to their meals. The primary observation--their teeth are easier to clean and they love their 'cheesy' topping!
