This works wonders on my indoor car who seems to be shedding 12 months a year. It extracts the underfur effortlessly and every time I brush her-twice a month- there's enough fur for a kttien! Sure she still grooms herself but sh does not injest fur as she used to. No more furballs!
Images shared by: BobI have a 6 year old german shepherd and she sheds constantly. We've tried alot of brushes and none have worked as well as this one. It gets out all the loose hair underneath the top coat. It does not however prevent shedding, we need to use it at least every second day and she still sheds alot, but at least this brush gets rid of the hair. It also makes her fur nice and shiny.
Also one bad thing is that some dead skin tends to get stuck between the teeth the of brush and it is hard to clean, I've tried using dental floss which worked somewhat but it was time consuming.

I used to recomend this product based on feedback (I work in the veterinary industry) but I finally broke down and purchased it for my cat. I can not begin to tell you what an improvement it made! I was able to get rid of a lot of his undercoat and he looks even better with less shedding in the house. It has definately helped keep the house free from the fur he shed and my clothes. It is a great product but you have to make sure you don't brush too much! I have seen the furminator cause a bald spot if used too much in one area. This, however, can not detract from how well one product can improve the life of your pet and you! I definately encourage everyone to give it a try and you will see what all of us are raving about!

We have a 2.5 year old mixed, mostly Golden Retriever, that we brought home from a rescue organization a year ago. For the first 11 months I used a different product to comb Maggie's coat. After a while I noticed that her hair seemed to be broken in a number of areas, especially around her neck and shoulders. I decided to try the Furminator DeShedder in hopes that would solve the problem. It definately has. In the past month Maggie's hair has grown back quite nicely. In addition, its obvious that she is enjoyng her grooming more. I comb Maggie about two to three times a week. The Furminatior removes more of her hair in less time than the prior comb. That's helpful to me, and also to Maggie because she gets a bit restless if her grooming takes too long. I like the heft and design of the Furminator. It is a very comfortable tool to use. It is also extremely easy to clean and store. As for price, the Furminator is rather expensive. But I feel overall its worth the cost. Both Maggie and I recommend the Furminator to any pet owner that wants an excellant grooming comb.

it really does prevent shedding...

Very great. The only bad part is the steel on the item will bend if you don't take care of it. But I will recomend this 99%!

This brush works wonders on my furry cattle dog/aussie shepherd mix! It's the only brush of its kind that I've found, and we'll never use another brush. Well worth the price. Since I don't get him groomed professionally, I use the medium-sized Ferminator to keep him looking handsome. As an added bonus, he actually likes being brushed. Be careful to use the brush gently though, because if pressed too hard it could really irritate the skin.

This is the neatest tool, I have found. I was skeptical when I first got it, but the dogs love having it used on them. They have short hair, and I was amazed at how much hair it got out from underneath their coats. When I get the FURminator off the shelf, they start pushing and shoving to see who gets combed first.
It is so easy to use and to clean, I use it once a week during the shedding period and at lease once a month other times.

I was a little reluctant to spend the money, but after the many glowing reviews, I decided to suck it up and dish out the dough. It was well worth it! I pulled out so much hair from my cats in just the first 5 minutes...they're usually picky and very sensitive to brushes, but they had no problem with this one, and were purring and loving it after just a few minutes.

I purchased this item and am impressed with the amount of hair that it brushes out of my pug. I use it twice a week and have noticed a great improvement on shedding. However, I noticed that if I use this product too frequently my pug's skin will irritate.

This tool is amazing! It gets the undercoat out without tugging at the hair and skin. The first time I used it there was a huge pile of dead hair removed! My cats used to hate combing time, as their hair and skin got pulled in order to remove the old hair. I therefore didn't comb them consistently. Not any more! The FURminator is so easy that the cats think they are being petted, so they don't fuss (as long as I don't keep them down too long.) It has really made a difference in the amount of hair I have to clean up in the house.

I purchase this comb at my Veterinarians. This comb is wonderful. I use it on my 125# Rot. His hair is quit thick. I live in Texas so it is very important to be to keep his coat thinned during the summer months. I would recommend this comb to anyone with animals. Great for horses when loosing their winter coats. I give this product a 4 not a 5 due to I feel it is expensive.

Well worth the money. Works better than any other comb or brush I've ever used.

We have a pomeranian. His fur matted underneath even though I regularly brushed him. When I used the FURminator on him, he would cry. When I got the FURminator deShedding Shampoo and deShedding Solution and used them and then used the FURminator, it was AMAZING! Our Pomeranian looked amazing and it was not painful as it loosened the matted fur. This is an excellent product and it always amazes me the amount of fur that comes out.

We adopted a domestic short hair cat, and got a regular old slicker brush. A few months after having Midnight, he had to be treated with a laxative for a hair ball. We decided to get a furminator, and not only does he love it, but he sheds less on clothing and furniture and he hasn't had a hairball problem yet. His coat feels alot better after a brushing.

the FURminator workes better than any other hair brush I have tried.
we have one cat that cleans herself ALL the time. Using other brushes hardly gets anything out of her. the FURminator grabs that hair down close to the skin and gently removes it. it is expencive but..intead of buying 2,3,or 4 different brushes tring to find one that works the FURminator WORKS

Not as good as I had hoped but a useful part of cat grooming process.

I am returning this...It rips out his coat and doesn't get the undercoat at all

Dispite brushing my cats every other day with a standard pet brush, a tremendous amount of hair shed onto my floors & furniture. I was concerned about my cats developing hair balls when grooming themselves. From the first use the FURminator grooming tool removed a significantly greater amount of loose hair than my pet brush would have in two weeks time. My cats coats feel softer and shedding is minimal. It's important to note that FURminator does NOT comb out "matted hair" and you need use gentle strokes when using it so your cats skin isn't irritated. [...] I highly recommend it.

My Cavalier King Charles Spaniel looks better than we have ever seen him. His coat is sleek and glossy. It is amazing how much hair I continue to get with the Furminator even though I use it at least 3 times a week. I have already suggested this to several dog owners.

My mom has the larger one she's used on a Irish Setter/Golden Retriver mix, and I use the smaller one on my cats. Most combs/brushes just get loose fur off the top, but this thing really pulls out the loose hair from the undercoat, too! My friends use it on their short-haired Daschund, and it really helps with his shedding (and he doesn't even have a thick coat!). Only drawback is the same as with any brush or comb: some animals don't like it at first.

I have long haired dachshunds and use the Furminator to eliminate the fuzzy undercoat that they sometimes get. The small tool works best on small dogs. We go outside every few weeks for a good combing with the Furminator. In 5 minutes they look beautiful again - no more fuzz! You'll be amazed at how much fuzz it removes and how much better your dog looks afterwards. I've never seen another tool on the market that does what the Furminator can do. The price might seem high, but the Furminator is so quick and easy to use -- it's definitely worth it!

well worth the price.

The fur flies when using this tool. It's wonderful, but should be used in area that's easy to clean up or outside. I like it better than a shedding blade.
