My dog loved it but it was too big for him to break up. He would pull it off in strips and choke trying to swallow it. I needed to cut it up into little pieces.

Not recomended for a dog that wolfs his or her food and doesn't chew. That can cause some choking but if they chew, this is a great chewie.

I HAVE AN ENGLISH MASTIFF WHO IS VERY FUSSY FOR HER 175 LBS. I RAN OUT OF THE TEXAS TAFFY & BOUGHT HER A DIFFERENT KIND. SHE DID NOT EAT IT. SO NOW I AM ON THE AUTOMATIC MONTHLY SHIPPING, SO MY "LITTLE GIRL" WILL BE HAPPY.

I have a small dog and she loves it! We just opened up the package and she took off with it, so I don't know anything other than she loves it, I did break it in half so it would be easier for her to run from room to room, but other than that she seems fine with it! And I feel good about it too...

Whenever I give Precious one of these it will keep her busy 30 to 45 minutes chewing it up. Anything that can keep an Eskie occupied that long is a good thing :-) Be aware that it won't look like much when you get it, but it softens when they chew it and pup works on it till it is all gone.

While this made for a good treat (the dogs ate them up), I was really looking for something long-lasting (it only took my dogs about 5 minutes to eat them). For a long-lasting treat, I highly recommend the Merrick Bully Sticks.

I haven't tasted it myself but based of the tail wagging and excited faces when I cut open a package of the Texas taffy it must be pretty good stuff. Deffinately the favorite chew of Silky and Andy, very experienced and rather fussy chewers.

This is my older dogs favorite treat. He can no longer chew Bully sticks which he used to love. This has been a great replacement. Both dogs enjoy them. All I have to do is rustle the plastic wrap covering and they come running!

I have a Mastiff and these are no good. She has had no problem with bully sticks or tendons. The texas taffy is to thin for a large dog that can chew it pretty fast, it doesn't break up but becomes a wet thin gummy thing. the fact that it is so thin makes it easy for a big dog to try and just swallow it. I caught her trying to chew it or break it up and it was half way stuck in her throat. i can see how i would be good for little dogs with little mouths. Just not a mastiff!

The dogs are crazy for these. They're expensive and difficult to open. I give 1/2 to each Shepherd but cutting them apart is quite difficult even with scissors.

This taffy is chne of my puppy maltese Bella's favorite chewable treat. The tex. taffy can be cut in half with a heavy duty scissor and she easily satisfies her for about 20-30 min., which gets her tired enough for her and I to rest peacefully or sleep.

Our Shiloh loves this taffy treat. He is a 15 month older retiever and chews this down pretty qickly. It's an enjoyable experience for him.

My dog Benny loves these Merrick Texas Taffy Natural Dog Chews. He chews on one in the morning while I check my e-mail and correspndence. If I do not have atreat for him he gets very sad.

My little minpin chewed these up in minutes......we even cut them in thirds.....for her they were not the best buy...she needs something that keeps her occupied longer.....they might be better suited for an older dog who is not so chew happy.....

My Pugs love this. They sit and chew it until it's gone. The only problem is when it gets soft and chewy, they like to try to swallow long pieces whole. It is a choking hazard for them, but I supervise them while they have it. I wouldn't get it for smaller breeds if you are not going to watch them while they have it.

My male Maltese is daffy for this taffy. He gets a 1/2 stick every evening after dinner. When I give it to him, he drops it and then seems to do a little dance around it, like he was dancing for joy!

I ONLY PURCHASED ONE, SINCE I READ THE REVIEW THAT AN ENGLISH MASTIFF LOVED IT. I ALSO HAVE AN ENGLISH MASTIFF THAT IS A VERY FUSSY EATER. WHEN I OPENED THE BOX, SHE CAME OVER TO THE COUNTER SNIFFING & WHEN I TOOK IT OUT OF THE WRAPPER, SHE THOURGHLY ENJOYED IT. EXCEPT, IT ONLY TOOK HER 7 MINUTES TO EAT IT. SO NOW I WILL ALSO BUY IN BULK.

I have an English Mastiff, so this treat is a 15 minute chew for us. She loves them, though. It's not messy, but I wish they didn't come invividually wrapped in plastic. We order this treat in bulk!

My puppy can chew up a treat in minutes, with these it normally takes her a few hours. She's a small breed dog and she loves to chew on everything and these treats last very long for her.
