I have had Dachshunds for over 40 years and also do rescue. Normally, I stay far away from 'treats' since weight gain in Dachshunds contributes to back/health issues. BUT, once in awhile, there is an extremely stubborn dog. These are great as positive reinforcement, especially for house training. Although expensive, I found I can break them in half or smaller. They must really taste good since I get fast & excellent results. NOTE: Dachshunds are notoriously hard to house train and rescue re-training takes even longer. Treat must be given PRECISELY at the time of 'deed' completion in correct area along with a 'special' command like 'potty' or (my version) 'hurry up' then a LOT of praise with the treat. Otherwise, your canine thinks the treat is for coming back to the house & you'll have a dog that won't house train. (Older dogs/re-training: After 100% success for a week, if you have a fenced yard, start increasing distance between you & dog until your dog will run out (with command if necessary), do the deed, & come back to house. Continue treats for another 3 months. Good for life! I am in rescue, and I've never had an un-trainable dog (knock on wood). I use only 1 type of super good treat per 'trick' I teach. Then there is no confusion between what I am training for, & the dog who then knows precisely what is expected to get that particular treat.

Great for nutrition. My puppy and adult dog love them. Soft so easy to chew and good for training. Treats can be easily broken into pieces for training. The only thing is that it may not be the best to handle for training because it crumbles easily. Nonetheless i think they are wonderful so do the little ones!

Our dog is extremely fussy, my own fault I am sure, and this and the Z-fillets are the only ones I know he will take for sure when offered. I have continued to re-order these. Also, all the neighborhood dogs love them!!!
