My Russian Blue suffers from chronic cystitis which gets worse when he is stressed.
He has ruined carpet peeing and pees on the floor vents (the blowing heat makes it feel better, apparently).
It gets painful and he exhibits comfort seeking behavior sometimes waking me 4 or 5 times a night.
He has one working kidney which has stones and is also prone to crystal formation in his bladder. This has caused problems as one needs an acidic diet and the other alkaline.
Vetri-Science products have been a tremendous help!
He gets one UT Strength crushed up in his food. I give him a second one when he is having obvious urinary distress. (I break them in half and give them like a pill. He will NOT eat these like a treat for love or money!)
He gets one Renal Essentials every night.
He gets the Composure Liquid, generally, a few days on and a few days off.
A word about the taste - this cat will not eat ANYTHING that is not his cat food or treat. He will smell people food but not even taste it.
He LOVES Composure Liquid! It smells a bit like sweetened condensed milk. I give it to him in an oral syringe and he licks the syringe!

My dog really loves the taste- he licks it right from the spoon. I give it to him daily before bedtime because sometimes he doesn't like to go to his "room" for the night. It seems to help. And I have ordered two more bottles; I plan on using it long term.
