Seemed to relieve some symptoms but our dog vomited after taking. The dyes left awful stains.

We're guessing, from the ingredients, that our dog would benefit greatly from these capsules, but there's no way she can swallow them, even if we were comfortable forcing them down her throat. She's a 10 pound miniature dachshund. Since most dogs who have a problem with dry eye are also small, these pills are problematic.
We figured, oh well, we'll just puncture the gel cap and put the liquid on her food. Since turmeric is one of the ingredients, however, it means the process must be done very carefully or nasty yellow stains will appear all over your kitchen. Our dog, as well, is not a neat eater, so even if we get the stuff into her bowl without a mishap, it's a crapshoot whether our living room carpet will be dripped on and permanently stained as she makes her way through her meal.
When we try to just feed the liquid to her on a spoon, she turns away - apparently it doesn't smell so good.
So, we found, it's just not worth it, especially for the high price. We opted for reasonably priced oils that our dog likes to lick right out of the spoon, and that seems to be helping her dry eye problem.
I thought this was a wonderful concept and the answer to our problems about putting drops in the dogs eyes but unfortunately, we didn't use the product long enough to see how effective it was because of the staining. If you snipped it open and put it on the dog's food, it stained your fingers, the counter and the dog. If you gave the dog the whole capule (in the food or plain) and the dog bit it open, it dripped and stained the dog, the floor, carpet. Just very messy. This may well work for others, just not good for us.
I found this capsule to be way too big for a dog to eat or swallow and when opened, causes a lot of yellow staining on you and your pet. I discontinued use because my AKC show dog doesn't need anymore stains that have to be removed. Please find a smaller dose.

We give the capsule by cutting it open and putting the liquid on our dog's food. The liquid does stain clothing and if you don't wash it from your fingers, it will stain towels. But the capsule is just so big, our little dog would never take it and I would never try to pill him with something so big. But, it really does seem to help keep his eyes clear along with eye meds from the vet. It helps keep the problem under control.
My pug has severe dry eyes. The vet gave me eye drops to put in her eyes twice a day but she would fight when I put them in and then wipe them away once I got them in! Looking at her eyes made me so frustrated because I knew she was hurting, so I started researching and found DogTears. I just put it in her food bowl once a day and that's it! Her eyes look as white as they did shen she was a puppy. This has saved me time and money, what more could a dog owner ask for?

One of my dogs, a Bulldog named Buddy, has had red sore eyes for the past year. My vet suggested I give him a DogTears capsule once a day. Within two weeks I could notice a difference in his eyes and he seems less agitated and stressed out.
Our large champagne colored standard poodle, has had dark ugly tear stains on her face for the past two years and nothing our vet suggested successfully addressed the problem. I recently started giving her DogTears from Pet Eye Nutrition, which I see you now have in your product list. After only two weeks, she now has clear clean eyes and a pretty face and she doesn’t rub her eyes nearly as often as she did. Thank you [...] for, once again, sourcing out the best products!
Our mixed breed dog had cataract surgery in both eyes at a young age. The surgery was successful and he sees fairly well, but for the past year the are around his eyes has been red and irritated looking more and more frequently. I didn't want to keep putting steroid drops in his eyes since that was just treating the symptom and not the cause. Well - we found the cure! After only a few days on Dog Tears the whites of his eyes were white and bright. I forgot to give it to him for a couple days and his eyes got red again. I will never miss a day again! I know he is more comfortable and can probably even see better now!
