Preparation

  • Each tbsp of Grace should be rehydrated with 1 tbsp of pure, warm, filtered or tap water, or boiled water that has been allowed to cool
  • Add the water to the food and stir well. The product will initially resemble soup.
  • Let stand for 10 minutes for the ingredients to rehydrate sufficiently.
  • Add your own ingredients if you wish.
  • Any leftovers should be refrigerated or discarded.
  • Because Grace contains high meat and low vegetable content, the hydrated product will be a more fluid consistency than the canine diets.

Feeding Guidelines

The following suggested daily amounts should be adjusted to suit your own cat's unique nutritional requirements and appetite, which may vary according to age, level of activity, the weather, and what other ingredients are added.

Cat's Weight Dry Measured Cups
1 to 6 lbs 1 to 6 tbsp
6 to 10 lbs 6 to 8 tbsp
10 to 16 lbs 8 to 14 tbsp
16 to 20 lbs 14 to 20 tbsp

They've got to add something to make it more palatable

By MeMeMe

Comments about Honest Kitchen Grace Grain-Free Dehydrated Cat Food:

My cats won't eat this by itself. I have to mix in regular wet food into it. Most people on most sites say the same thing. There's also an awful lot of vegetables and fruit in this food. Cats don't eat vegetables and fruit in the wild, except for the teeny tiny amounts they would eat when they eat the bellies of a bird or mouse. However, meat is expensive so The Honest Kitchen is trying to lower the cost by adding non-meats. I get it. One thing I really don't like is the cranberries. They have not been powdered and are whole. The cats leave them in the bowl. A Dog will eat cranberries but most cats won't.
I wish they would add something to make this more palatable to cats. I am trying this solely to be able to feed it alone without having to buy cans. But so far, it's not working. As I said, they will only eat it if the old cat food is mixed in with it. However, since I still have probably 30 cans of cat food left, I am not yet fully titrating down the amount of cat food mixed in to see if they will finally accept it without any regular cat food mixed in.

Comments about Honest Kitchen Grace Grain-Free Dehydrated Cat Food:

I have eight cats and buying enough wet food cans is cumbersome. So I bought this. It did take them a bit to get used to it, but they really do like it. My vet also likes the ingredients in it. I also like that you can make it as thick or watery as you want. I think this food is great and my kitties enjoy it.

The key to getting them to eat it

      By Jen

Comments about Honest Kitchen Grace Grain-Free Dehydrated Cat Food:

For those having a problem with the cats eating this what I am doing is boiling salmon and using the juice to make this. Then I sprinkler a little salmon on top. I do not feed it raw. I add the food to the hot liquid and put it in 2 cup dishes and bake in the oven for 40 minutes on 300. My picky kittens now love it when before they wouldn't even touch the canned stuff they liked if it was touching this. Now they eat it by itself and the proof is in the poop. The littlest one had poo that looked like butterscotch pudding and smelled up the whole house. The others were large for a cat. Now everyone is normal and smaller and they are super active and have a much more chilled personality. All their coats are super soft and shiny and their weight is under control. They are just so much more healthy. Turkey is a cooling food so any animal with skin conditions or any inflammation would definitely benefit from this food. I would've given them 5 stars but I am constantly picking chunks of the cranberry out and am writing to them to reduce or replace the cranberry with something that won't irritate their tummies. Sometimes they will act like they have a tummy ache or even through up a little and it usually has cranberry in it. I know this is acidic and can do the same thing to humans so I don't know why they wouldn't replace it. The company is really good about answering email and take suggestions to their nutritionist to look over.

Inedible. The only food my cat has ever refused to eat.

I should have tried a sample size first. I wasted $$ on a product my cat would not even try after smelling it. I gave it to my mom for her to offer to her cat. I definitely will not purchase this again.

      My Cat Rather Chew Plastic

Comments about Honest Kitchen Grace Grain-Free Dehydrated Cat Food:

As with anything my cat is not interesting in eating she rather go chew on plastic (which seriously irks me to no end).

I don't know what happened. I ordered samples of both flavors and she seemed to be okay with it preferring the turkey over the chicken. (Heck even I preferred it over the chicken which just seemed gross). From a human perspective the turkey smells like dried turkey that's on the gamy side, but my cat seemed okay with it so I ordered a two pound box. I guess she changed her mind about it or just after some thought decided she really didn't like it. Good thing is I can mix a small amount with her canned food (one or two baby spoons or 1/8 of whatever I mix it in with) and she'll accept it that way. If she's particularly fussy I can mix that tiny amount with some tuna since for her anything tuna is great. I'm even more suspect of this product since the Honest Kitchen's site hasn't had either flavor for cats in stock for months. This is just an absolute no.

Comments about Honest Kitchen Grace Grain-Free Dehydrated Cat Food:

When I first introduced Grace to my cat, he wouldn't touch it. So I gave up for several months and gave in to the less healthy food that continuously causes allergic reactions to my cat. But recently after a long road trip cross-country, I tried giving him Grace again - and this time, he loved it! I don't know what changed, but now he cries and begs for the food 3-4 times per day. I love watching him lick the bowl clean. He's so happy! I'm also noticing improvements in his coat and he hasn't vomited in almost a week. I hope it sticks. Thanks, Grace, for making such a clean and nutritious food for my cat.

Comments about Honest Kitchen Grace Grain-Free Dehydrated Cat Food:

I've been trying to get my cats on something similar to a "raw" diet for awhile now but don't have the eq uipment for grinding real meat and animal parts my cats. This is my happy medium.

I tried to transition them slowly (or so I thought) to the new food. It took about a full week for them to stop turning their noses up. Now they meow and beg for it when I'm preparing it! If your cats don't like it at first, don't give up- it might just take a little longer!
