Comments about Honest Kitchen Marvel Dehydrated Dog Food:

Thanks Honest Kitchen for finally making a limited ingredients recipe line of food. My pup has awful allergies and we are working on building his immune system right now, but he can only eat certain meats and veggies while his body heals and rebuilds. I was having to premake all his raw meals and freeze them for when we went on trips and then bring 2 or 3 coolers with us to keep everything fresh. Thanks to this new limited ingredient recipe we can now get a 4lb box and take it with us when we go camping and also when he goes to stay with his grandparents!! the only con i would say is that he was much skinnier after having this food only for a few weeks while my husband and I were on tour with his band. He was still as energetic as ever but his raw food has more fat I'm sure.
I gave 4 stars because of the price

Comments about Honest Kitchen Marvel Dehydrated Dog Food:

I'm VERY happy with The Honest Kitchen Marvel dehydrated dog food. One of my dogs has colitis (22 lb. half beagle/half dachshund) and the other one (16 lb. dachshund) didn't like the kibble we were feeding her. After doing a lot of research we transitioned them both to the Marvel variety. It's a limited ingredient formula. It has no potatoes...which one of them may now have trouble with. They both absolutely love it, are very eager for it, and lick the bowl clean! And no more tummy trouble with the one who has colitis (somewhat darker stools at first during the transition for both of them, but now they're back to normal).
Since being on this new food for the past couple of months, they both have renewed energy and their coats look great...shiny and soft. A nice improvement.
It's interesting that after I add water to the Marvel mix (as per below), the consistency is somewhat like oatmeal or a smoothie...vs. when we used to add water to their kibble. I use pretty much equal parts of water and Marvel mix. For the 16 lb. dog I use 1/2 cup of the mix per day (1/4 cup in the morning and a 1/4 cup in the mid/late afternoon) with roughly the same amount of water stirred in. For the 22 lb. girl I use 3/4 cup per day...with that amount evenly split into the morning and mid/late afternoon meal portions, again with the same amount of water stirred in.
It takes a while to thicken up, though, so I always wait 10-15 minutes after I add the water, and stir well before serving it to them (even though the directions say it's done in 3 minutes). We also sometimes add just a half to a full Tablespoon of The Honest Kitchen's Proper Toppers (mashed up a bit and mixed in for extra flavor). They can be used on their own for treats apparently, although we haven't done that yet.
For us, this has really been a wonderful find...and a real relief to know that we're feeding them high quality food that's tested before being released. I'm so glad we gave it a try!!

I tried giving this to my mini schnauzer just a little at a time....Very little the first day mixed with her usual food, then just a little more the second day. She started throwing it all up, undigested. Also noticed it was partially undigested in her stool morning of second day. Sure hate it; sounded good...but not for us.
