My dog was suffering from allergies and his skin was red, itchy and irritated. This was the best colloidal oatmeal shampoo I found. It soothed his skin and eliminated his itching, and is easy to rinse out. I even bring it to his groomer to use on him. The only down side is that it's so thick you can't really squeeze it out through the cap which is easily remedied by removing it.

Unfortunately this product didn't work for my chihuahua with allergic hot spots. I am sure it is a good product, but when I bathed him in it, he had a huge itching flare up. Too bad. I might still try it again with my other chihuahua that doesn't have skin problems.

I ordered this after seeing all the stellar reviews. My dog, a cocker spaniel, Chewiee, has been itching and scratching due to dry skin, and this product read like the solution to most if not all of Chewiee's woes. It started well...the shampoo itself smelled pleasant and Chewiee seemed to like how it felt when I let it sit for 10 minutes (per instructions). It also rinsed off nicely, and left my dog's fur feeling very soft. Then the scratching began--less than 30 minutes after his bath. He was scratching with even more urgency, and that same afternoon, little white dandruff-like flakes floated to the top of his fur--the shampoo seems to have made his skin even drier. Three days after his bath, our dog was stinky and his fur had that waxy feel. I think the shampoo is TOO mild that it didn't clean his fur/skin. Poor guy...I had such high hopes.

As a naturopath, this is the only shampoo I will use on my sensitive, allergy ridden Shih Tzu! There are no "bad" ingredients in this product and I highly recommend it.

I use the Doc Ackerman's Herbal Colloidal Oatmeal Shampoo for both of my Doberman Pinschers and it works great on their sensitive skin. Helps with itchy skin and smells nice. It's gentle enough to use with my puppy that we got with a skin infection. It was reccomended by my vet!

Personal dog lover and owner. My dogs itch all the time, and this shampoo relieves them from alot of itchiness. My sister just acquired a shitzu pup...this dog has alot of hair and had some eczema. This shampoo alleviates any itchiness from your dog. Recommended to use several times a month. This was recommended by our local vet. And the vet was not kidding...the shampoo does its job and highly recommended to any dog owner, especially to owners who have pets that itch constantly.
