My lab mix has occasional skin problems, mainly on her neck. The skin gets red and blistered and then 'crusty'. Unfortunately I only know about the problem when it becomes crusty as I can't feel it before then. I just apply Dr Harvey's cream directly to the spot and it clears the problem in 2 - 3 days. I find the consistency to be creamy (I live in a very warm area) and it is easy to apply. I don't notice any odor and my dog doesn't even seem to know it's there. Prior to discovering this product I had to spend hours soaking the affected area until the crustiness was gone and then applying a thick layer of greasy cream for around a week, all of which is very stressful for my extremely nervous dog.

I use it all the time for just about any issue my dog might have:rash,pimple,broken nail,irritation anywhere even in the ear,bites (bug or from another pet),it's the only cream she tolerates and even if she licks it off I know it will not harm her.I actually used this on myself and family members for cuts, bug bites etc.

Ordered based on reviews from others that it helps with itching. My dog has cronic itchy ears-no infection or mites. Easy to apply, but had an order to it which neither he nor a liked. He immediately started rubbing his head all over the carpet. One of the other dogs kept trying to lick it off so I can't say I'd recommend it for any place a dog can lick it. Will keep looking for something else.

I purchased the product for our Cassie's leg granuloma. It was difficult to heal, even with the vet's steroid meds. This "cream," sounded like the solution, but it's been disappointing. The consistency is grainy and gritty and is hard to apply because it comes out in clumps. I haven't noticed any difference in the granuloma and it's been a week since the first application-and twice daily applications thereafter.

this stuff is thick and hard. Must be slightly heated in order to apply it to my dogs rash. Otherwise it would just pull and stretch his already sensitive skin. Works very well to moisten and heal the rash.

We (My dogs and I) were desperate. I have a Bichon Frise and a Shtz Tzu and this is her (Bichon) worse year ever. Constant itching and scratching, obsessive licking, so restless, huffing and panting, and ending up pulling her hair off and exposing a red, raw irritated skin. I have done major changes in food and supplements, all from ONPS. This ointment does take care of the itching part. A soon as I see her licking a spot, I show her the container, she comes to me and sits and let me apply the medicine. I believe she feels immediate relief, she doesn't even lick it off. I just wish they come in a different consistency, a cream maybe so it is not too sticky. It is like applying lard on her. Anyway, it works!

If you are looking for something gentle yet effective for allergic outbreaks, hot spots or sores, this product works. My vet always wants to put my cat on steroids with every allergic outbreak. With this cream, I can treat him and the outbreaks heal quickly.

my 4 yr old cat started pulling out her hair. The vet seemed to think it was a food allergy and gave her a cortisone shot. After that wore off, I started putting Dr. Harvey's healing cream on, and her hair seems to be growing back. It's a little hard to put on because it's solid - almost like hard butter. But she's not scratching, and it seems to be soothing her itchiness. I will update if and when her hair grows back in. I used it on my mosquito bites and it took the itch away immediately, so I'm sure it's helping her too!
