My kitty has had soft stools and I read this might help with that. It did not make it worse but it did not help with her issue. She may have IBD so I have to be carefull what I give her and gradually introduce her to something new. She had been on the prescription diet foods that I found to be be expensive junk food. I wanted something good for her as a cat.I have only given her the venison at first she ate it up and now she leaves behind some. It seems a little dryer and lumpy compaired to a pate she was always used to. I do add some warm water to help it out and let it get to room temp before feeding it to her. I wished she liked it more and ate it all up its only been 2 1/2 weeks I want to go a month before trying a different flavor or brand. I do like the ingredients compaired to generic brands.

I have made a switch to this (canned - for my cat), and am not going back. One of my cats kept defecating all over the house, and sounded as if he was hurting sometimes when he did so. This was almost a daily occurrence. After trying everything (medical evaluation, behaviorial evaluation) I read that it could be nutritional from an online vet. My cat may even have been diabetic. The grains and non-animal fillers may have been causing all of that from other foods - namely dry foods and kibbles. To any dry or dry alone feeding owner, get your cat off dry food. I did this and that is when the defecating, tons of hairballs and health issues started escalating. If I HAD to feed dry, I'd feed the Nature's Valley since its 85% meat derived with no grains, but its not good for cats. They need the moisture, and they need almost all of their food as meat...the canned Nature's Variety has 95% muscle meat and organs, 5% vegetables. I feed the canned food. Since doing so my cat hasn't messed once, seems healthy and happy. Both of my cats are slimming down to a healthy weight (they looked like a Garfield comic strip before) and they are actually HUNGRY when I feed them. They used to be particular about canned food - they'd only eat one brand's type, and only 3 flavors of it. With NV Instinct, they eat whatever flavor I buy them, and leave nothing behind. They've never done that. They can obviously tell its better, and I have to hand it to the company. I'm so glad I read that article online (nothing to do with Nature's Valley, it was from a vet who actually recommended another brand's frozen raw stuff but this as a good 2nd choice). I think it could have saved my cats lives, or at least extended them (as well as my sanity).

My cats have absolutely loathed other brands of duck but they love this. It's juicy and has a nice coarse texture which they seem to prefer over creamier foods. In fact every flavor of Nature's Variety Instict is immensely popular with all ten cats so even though it's more expensive we will continue to feed it to them.

Got the rabbit and venison flavors for my two cats. So they could try some new interesting flavors. My 3 year old cat Hemingway liked both flavors. But my 5 months old kitten Puff didn't like either. So will only be buying these as special dinners for Hemingway in the future.

I have 2 indoor cats 10yrs old, my one male,had IBD since the day I took him home from the shelter, on and off for 9yrs, many, many vet visits and tons of tests & $$$$....needless to say I researched online and came across the raw diet for cats. Since I decided not to go "totally" raw with them, this product was recommended as a close second , happy to say we are on this product for almost 1 year now, and it's amazing...no more IBD!!! Sometimes..they get a treat of raw chicken :) highly recommend this product, it changed both my cats health for the better

I have a cat allergic to all grains, fish, and possibly chicken and beef. This does not leave much wet food for him, as most labeled "turkey" also has chicken, beef liver, or some kind of fish oil. Instinct Lamb fits the bill! Plus, he likes it. Must be at room temp - heat for 6 sec in microwave if just taken out of fridge.

Our Vet recommended we use it and we saw our cat's health, coat, and weight improved. We hadn't realized that we were fast-food feeding, with dry food only, and giving more calories than nutrition.
