999116 - Only Natural Pet Para-Gone Herbal Formula 4 oz. - 11/13/2009

While the mere idea of intestinal worms is quite repugnant to many of us, they are a common experience for our pets, and most puppies and kittens come into the world with a mild infestation of worms. Many adult pets may carry a small number of parasites without ever showing symptoms or having their health much compromised for their presence. Some intestinal parasites, however, can cause serious health issues if the animal is particularly weak or immune-compromised, or if the infestation becomes severe. If you suspect that your companion may have worms, it is best to have a stool sample evaluated by your vet's office to determine the type and severity of your pet's parasite infestation.

Only Natural Pet Para-Gone Herbal Formula is designed to help the body expel intestinal parasites by dislodging them from tissues and helping the body move them out of the system. This unique blend of herbs is intended to act as a vermifuge to kill and expel pinworms, tapeworms, and other parasites, as well as to protect the stomach and aid in digestion, which improves the action of the formula.

The following quality herbs were used in this herbal tincture for their beneficial properties:

  • Wormwood Herb (Artemisia absinthium), may help to expel round worms, pinworms, tapeworms, and parasites from the intestinal tract
  • Male Fern Root (Dryopteris filix mas), may help relieve discomfort and control bleeding associated with killing worms, may soothe inflamed areas of the large and small intestine, and may help weaken worms (tapeworms, roundworms, pinworms and liver flukes) to facilitate their elimination
  • Wormseed Herb, American (Chenopodium anthelminticum), may help kill and expel roundworms, hookworms, small tapeworms, and amoebas
  • Sage Leaf (Salvia officinalis), may aid in digestion and expel worms, and may help soothe the stomach and intestinal tract
  • Fennel Seed (Foeniculum vulgare), may relax and soothe the smooth lining of the digestive tract, and may help relieve gas that may occur while using this formula
  • Papaya Leaf (Carica papaya), may help break down proteins and mucous surrounding parasites and help expel them, and may act as a digestive aid

As with all herbal remedies and treatments, the healthier the animal is overall, the more effective the treatment will be. Providing your companion with the best diet along with proper health products for optimal health will go a long way to preventing disease and making them less appealing and susceptible to parasites. Please see our articles, What You Need to Know About Your Pet’s Food, and The Importance of Daily Supplements for Your Companion for more information.

For additional information on heartworm and parasite infections, you will find our articles, Intestinal Worms and Heartworm, and Natural Worm Control, available in our Holistic Healthcare Library, or consult a holistic pet care reference book, such as Herbs for Pets, Dr. Pitcairn's Complete Guide to Natural Health for Dogs & Cats, or The Encyclopedia of Natural Pet Care.

This product was made in an FDA-approved facility using human-grade ingredients.

Only Natural Pet brand products are 100% Guaranteed!

Ingredients: Fennel (seed), Male Fern (root), Papaya (leaf), Sage (leaf), Wormseed (aerial parts), Wormwood (aerial parts), Glycerin, Agave (nectar), Purified Water

Dosage: For Dogs and Cats - 3 times per day, give 1 drop for every 2 pounds of body weight up to 50 pounds, plus 1 drop for every 4 pounds of body weight over 50 pounds.* This tincture may be mixed with food, applied with dropper or syringe directly into mouth, or mixed with up to 1/2 cup of warm water.

*For example, a 70 lb. dog would be given 25 drops + 5 drops = 30 drops, three times each day (total 90 drops).

Use for 10 days. In most cases, it is recommended that you administer the treatment twice per year. May be repeated every two months.

Each 2 oz. bottle contains approximately 1,050 drops, and each 4 oz. bottle contains approximately 2,100 drops of the formula.

Additional Usage Instructions:

It is important to administer the remedy 3 times per day consistently for a full 10 days - spreading out doses as evenly as possible over the course of the day.  Even missing one or two doses can make a difference.

It can take 3 days or more for the worms to begin to be eliminated, depending on the overall health of the animal and whether or not the animal is constipated. If the animal is constipated, using Only Natural Pet Laxa-Herb in conjunction with this formula is recommended since constipation will hinder the process.

The Para-Gone Herbal Formula will only eliminate the worms currently in the system – the SOURCE of the worms must be eliminated also – i.e., fleas, eating feces, etc., or the animal will be continually re-infested.

If your dog or cat has tapeworms you must first make sure there are no more fleas in the environment (home/yard) so that your companion does not become re-infested with tapeworms before administering the Para-Gone. Please see our article, The Natural Approach to Flea Control, for more information on eliminating fleas.

Cautions: Consult with a Holistic Veterinarian if animal has kidney disease, liver disease, or seizures or for animals taking blood thinning drugs. Not for pregnant or nursing mothers.

A Note About Heartworms:
This formula may be used to aid in the elimination of heartworms, but if your pet has heartworm disease (adult heartworm infestation in the heart and lungs), then you should consult a veterinarian and follow a traditional heartworm disease treatment program (there is no natural cure for heartworm disease). If you are looking for a heartworm preventative, then we would suggest the HW Protect Herbal Formula.

About Only Natural Pet Herbal Remedies

Our Only Natural Pet Herbal Remedies have evolved from the work of holistic veterinarians and experienced herbalists to bring you a wide selection of natural health care products for your animal companion. Herbal formulas are easy to administer and easy for your pet to assimilate, making these treatments both simple and effective. Herbs are also great natural sources of vitamins, antioxidants, minerals, enzymes, and many other nourishing substances.

Only the finest herbs are used in our formulas, and the careful selection and blending of these herbs helps them interact synergistically for stronger, more beneficial effects. Nothing is more natural than harnessing the healing powers of the herbs and flowers around us. When ill or injured, animals in the wild have an uncanny ability to seek out and eat plants with properties that will help them heal.

Natural therapies like our herbal formulas do not just attack the symptoms of a disorder. Instead they rebuild your companion’s total health and facilitate their body’s innate ability to heal itself. When natural remedies are used in conjunction with a nutritious diet, your pet can enjoy a healthier life.

The effectiveness of Para-Gone Herbal Formula, as with ANY herbal or natural remedy, varies with the health of the animal. An animal being fed a high quality diet with adequate vitamins and enzymes will respond better than an animal on a poor quality diet. Each animal’s system needs support in healing from within. Please see our article, "What You Need to Know About Your Pet’s Food," for information about feeding the best quality diet.

Tips on Using Herbal Remedies

  • Begin only one remedy or health product of any kind at a time. Do not add another product until you have clearly established your pet’s response to the first one, including signs of intolerance or interaction with any other product being used (unless you are working with a holistic veterinarian familiar with the substances being administered).
  • More frequent dosage – say 3 times per day, is typically more effective than a large dose once per day, as spacing out the doses allows the herbs to remain in the animal’s system and provide optimal, consistent benefits.
  • Response to herbal remedies varies by individual, so suggested dosages may need to be adjusted depending on your pet’s response. When introducing any new health product, it is wise to start with a lower than recommended dose and build up over the course of several days to a week. If vomiting, diarrhea or other signs of intolerance occur, a remedy should be stopped for two days, and then ½ the original dose can be administered to see if the lower dose can be tolerated.
  • Herbs take time to build in the system, so do not expect immediate results. It can take from several days up to a week or more to know if the herbal remedy is effective depending upon the severity of the issue being treated and the overall vitality of the animal.
  • Herbs and other natural remedies work best for an animal whose system is given the best possible conditions for health and healing. This includes having the healthiest and freshest diet possible, along with proper health-supportive products and digestive aids such as digestive enzymes, essential fatty acids, and adequate levels of essential vitamins and minerals.
  • Check with a knowledgeable veterinarian if your companion is on any conventional medications that herbal remedies could interact with. If your pet's condition changes in any way that concerns you, discontinue use of any remedies or health products and contact your veterinarian.
