If you think a scoopable litter has to be loaded with clay and chemicals to clump and control odor, you're in for a surprise! Swheat Scoop litter is made from naturally processed wheat, which means its clay free, chemical free, fragrance free and biodegradable.

Naturally eliminates odors.
Thanks to our patented process, this litter's natural wheat enzymes work continuously to neutralize litter box odor, no matter how many cats you own.

Clumps firmly for easy scooping.
Through this same process, natural wheat starches are exposed to form firm, solid clumps when they come in contact with moisture. So you can scoop them out with ease.

Low dust, less tracking.
Wheat also makes for a neater litter that doesn't get tracked around the house or raise clay dust clouds when poured.

Clay and chemical free.
Unlike many scoopable litters, Swheat Scoop litter contains no silica dust, sodium bentonite, chemicals or flowery fragrances. Which is good news for your cat and you.

Safely digestible.
Swheat Scoop litter is safe and non-toxic for cats and kittens, as well as other household pets. The granules can be licked during grooming or digested without serious health consequences.

Soft on sensitive paws.
For cats and kittens with tender paws, Swheat Scoop litter is a softer choice than many clay or pelleted litters. In fact, its so gentle, its even recommended by veterinarians for newly declawed cats.

Cat accepted.
Cats are creatures of habit, and can be apprehensive when they encounter a different litter. But they find it easy to get used to Swheat Scoop litter because it looks and feels like conventional litter.

100% biodegradable.
Strictly speaking, clay-based litters never biodegrade because they cannot be absorbed or broken down by the organic environment. But Swheat Scoop litter will readily break down upon disposal and simply dissolve away.

Sewer and septic safe.
Swheat Scoop is the only cat litter on the market that's certified flushable by the SGS U.S. Testing Company, an independent research organization. Which means that clumps of this product can be safely flushed without clogging your sewer or septic system, when used as directed..

100% compostable.
Swheat Scoop litter can be composted or used as mulch for ornamental plants (non-vegetable gardens) once it has been thoroughly scooped.

A renewable resource.
Swheat Scoop litter is made from naturally processed, secondary (non-food grade) wheat grown in the heart of the Great Plains states.

HELPFUL HINTS

  • For best results, maintain a 3 inch level in the litter box to maximize odor control and make cleanups easy. We also recommend scooping at least twice a day, especially if you own more than one cat.
  • Before you fill the litter box, you can spray the bottom with household cooking spray to prevent clumps from sticking. You can also place a sheet of wax paper on the bottom of the box, or spread a handful or two of baking soda before filling.
  • Some cats have a vigorous covering technique after using the litter box. To keep the litter from flying all over, try switching to an extra-deep box. This will also help reduce tracking in the vicinity.
  • Because Swheat Scoop looks and feels like conventional litter, cats tend to accept it without much fuss. To make the changeover even easier, pour three inches of Swheat Scoop litter on the bottom and add one inch of the brand you're currently using on top. Then allow your cat to freely mix the products when using the litter box. Repeat this process, if necessary, when you change the litter again. But this time, add only a half inch of the other brand. Only flush when there is 100% Swheat Scoop litter in the box.

Comments about Swheat Scoop Natural Wheat Litter:

Our cats took to this litter very quickly. Our 2nd adoptee came w/ half a bag of what his foster had been using, and he transitioned smoothly. We like that at box switch out time, we can compost the litter (very well scooped, of course, so only litter remains). It tracks about the same as a clay litter, but if you step on a few grains, they brush off easily, unlike clay litter grains which can smush and be slick feeling (the clay). We feel it is much better for our kitties than clay. We have tried other formulas; pine was a no-go (they didn't like the pelleted one nor the sawdust one) and although they did take well to the walnut-shell kind, the Swheat Scoop is less expensive in the long run.

      Great product!

      clumps better than World's Best

Comments about Swheat Scoop Natural Wheat Litter:

I like this cat litter because it doesn't contain harmful ingredients and it clumps nicely. I change the litter for my 1 cat maybe every 5 days or so. When I do clean it out, it doesn't smell bad. Urine clumps real nicely and easy to clean. I bought World's Best, but found that when I removed clumps, the urine clumps would break up easily and after a while, even after cleaning, I needed to dump out the entire box. With Swheat Scoop, I haven't done it yet and it still doesn't smell. My cat does tend to track it around the house though. Walking around barefoot can be uncomfortable and I need to sweep up the tracks more often than I do dumping the litter. I haven't found another economy litter that clumps and doesn't have harmful ingredients that doesn't track, so I'll live with it.

Comments about Swheat Scoop Natural Wheat Litter:

I "inherited" my daughter's 10-yr-old cat during a six-month petsitting stint while my daughter was in-training for a new job nine states away. At the end of the six months, my daughter returned to take her dog to her new northern home, but left her cat with me to continue keeping me company and so that "Angel"could continue hunting lizards in my Florida courtyard.

During those six months, I used typical kitty litter, which is what my daughter had given to me. However, I have an "organic lifestyle" and didn't want to continue using chemical litter in my home. I tried every "natural" and organic litter on the market, only to discover how very finicky my new companion was at the age of ten. Of all the litter products I tried, Swheat Scoop was the only one that she would use; in fact, she much preferred it over every other litter I'd tried, including her original, chemical litter.

Now, nine years later, I have gone through hundreds of boxes/bags of this wonderful litter. For quite some time, I flushed it down the toilet, but it's very important to follow directions so that plumbing problems don't result from "over-dumping" in the toilet bowl. These days, I just throw it in the trash, knowing that it easily decomposes faster than the rest of my trash.

I've tried the multi-cat formula to see if I could make the litter last longer, but it really doesn't matter which formula I use; they both work great and last an exceptionally long time.

I tried this product on a recommendation and I didn't like it. The litter clumped into a mush and it attracted fruit flies! It didn't hold pack the odor and the box smelled like ammonia.

Cat litter or food for cockroaches?

Comments about Swheat Scoop Natural Wheat Litter:

This cat litter is very delicious food for cockroaches. It invited these nasty creatures from all of my neighbors and they turned our litter box into a feasting/breeding ground. Apparently, wheat (which is the main ingredient in "Swheat Scoop") is something that crawlers can eat, so, if you like animals that much – go for it! My cat seems to enjoy his new company… something to play with :)

Comments about Swheat Scoop Natural Wheat Litter:

I used to use regular scoopable litter, until my cat developed lung disease. Although I couldn't confirm it, that experience cased me to question the amount of dust I saw each time I poured new litter into the litter box. Since then, I switched to Swheatscoop Natural Litter. It's great -- absolutely no dust or residue. I heard a complaint regarding tracking from a friend, but don't agree, so try for yourself. It's better for your kitty!
