If you think a scoopable litter has to be loaded with clay and chemicals to clump and control odor, you're in for a surprise! Swheat Scoop litter is made from naturally processed wheat, which means its clay free, chemical free, fragrance free and biodegradable.

Naturally eliminates odors.
Thanks to our patented process, this litter's natural wheat enzymes work continuously to neutralize litter box odor, no matter how many cats you own.

Clumps firmly for easy scooping.
Through this same process, natural wheat starches are exposed to form firm, solid clumps when they come in contact with moisture. So you can scoop them out with ease.

Low dust, less tracking.
Wheat also makes for a neater litter that doesn't get tracked around the house or raise clay dust clouds when poured.

Clay and chemical free.
Unlike many scoopable litters, Swheat Scoop litter contains no silica dust, sodium bentonite, chemicals or flowery fragrances. Which is good news for your cat and you.

Safely digestible.
Swheat Scoop litter is safe and non-toxic for cats and kittens, as well as other household pets. The granules can be licked during grooming or digested without serious health consequences.

Soft on sensitive paws.
For cats and kittens with tender paws, Swheat Scoop litter is a softer choice than many clay or pelleted litters. In fact, its so gentle, its even recommended by veterinarians for newly declawed cats.

Cat accepted.
Cats are creatures of habit, and can be apprehensive when they encounter a different litter. But they find it easy to get used to Swheat Scoop litter because it looks and feels like conventional litter.

100% biodegradable.
Strictly speaking, clay-based litters never biodegrade because they cannot be absorbed or broken down by the organic environment. But Swheat Scoop litter will readily break down upon disposal and simply dissolve away.

Sewer and septic safe.
Swheat Scoop is the only cat litter on the market that's certified flushable by the SGS U.S. Testing Company, an independent research organization. Which means that clumps of this product can be safely flushed without clogging your sewer or septic system, when used as directed..

100% compostable.
Swheat Scoop litter can be composted or used as mulch for ornamental plants (non-vegetable gardens) once it has been thoroughly scooped.

A renewable resource.
Swheat Scoop litter is made from naturally processed, secondary (non-food grade) wheat grown in the heart of the Great Plains states.

HELPFUL HINTS

  • For best results, maintain a 3 inch level in the litter box to maximize odor control and make cleanups easy. We also recommend scooping at least twice a day, especially if you own more than one cat.
  • Before you fill the litter box, you can spray the bottom with household cooking spray to prevent clumps from sticking. You can also place a sheet of wax paper on the bottom of the box, or spread a handful or two of baking soda before filling.
  • Some cats have a vigorous covering technique after using the litter box. To keep the litter from flying all over, try switching to an extra-deep box. This will also help reduce tracking in the vicinity.
  • Because Swheat Scoop looks and feels like conventional litter, cats tend to accept it without much fuss. To make the changeover even easier, pour three inches of Swheat Scoop litter on the bottom and add one inch of the brand you're currently using on top. Then allow your cat to freely mix the products when using the litter box. Repeat this process, if necessary, when you change the litter again. But this time, add only a half inch of the other brand. Only flush when there is 100% Swheat Scoop litter in the box.

Comments about Swheat Scoop Natural Wheat Litter:

I have been using "Swheat Scoop" for years. Long ago I read something about how the clumping clay litters can cause kidney problems so I decided to find a safe option for my little guys. I tried several alternatives like "Feline Pine", "Yesterday's News" and one with small round white balls (I don't recall the name). In all cases there was something that either I didn't like (the white balls rolled all over the place when the cats left the litter box) or the boys didn't like (Feline Pine was the worst, in their opinion). Then I found "Swheat Scoop". It is enough like soil that the kitties have no problem using it and it is 100% biodegradable and flushable. It also handles odors really well. When the boxes need to be emptied and cleaned the left over litter can go into the garden. Best of all it is SAFE for the cats. I do not feed my cats grains, however a little wheat flour on the paws is no problem and it will pass right through their systems and not cause sickness later. I recently tried "Worlds Best Cat Litter", which is corn based. I liked it but it is dustier than the wheat so I will be sticking with "Swheat Scoop".

Comments about Swheat Scoop Natural Wheat Litter:

I switched our cat to this litter about five years ago because I couldn't stand the perfumey smell of standard litters. After doing some research, I realized that many litters were not healthy for our cat either. She took to Swheat without a problem. When I adopted our second cat, she had no issues using it either. It controls odor very well, and clumps for easy cleaning. Although it tracks, I don't think it's any worse than any other litter I have used. The only problem is that the dog will try to sneak and eat it, and too much gives him the runs! I am just careful to keep him away from the box. Overall, great product!

Comments about Swheat Scoop Natural Wheat Litter:

I've gone through my first bag and my cat and I are finding this to be a good product. I have always scooped twice a day and this is best for when you are flushing. I let it set for 1hr before flushing. It says 20 min. on the bag (also I noticed this hint wasn't mentioned on the web site) but the flushing becomes very slow as if it is overloaded or on its way to be stuck. I would use this product from here on out. You can get a coupond on line. Glad I am not using plastic bags for permanent disposal in the landfills!

We tried it right off with our 3 cats. It seemed at first like maybe I would have to do the 1/4 intro, but within 1 hour they were using it. It seemed like the new texture more than anything was what they had to get used to. Excellent product.

Comments about Swheat Scoop Natural Wheat Litter:

Love this litter. Doesn't hurt the cats, clumps well (after letting it set for a few mins), very low odor. I tried the multi-cat variety, but found it to be very dusty, so I went back to the regular type. Takes a bit longer to form a solid clump, but not nearly as dusty. Highly recommend! I've tried the corn litter (world's best?) but didn't like the smell. Swheat Scoop is a much cleaner, less in-your-face smell, and is more affordable. Cats really like this one, too.

Comments about Swheat Scoop Natural Wheat Litter:

Great, great litter. Has the best odor control of anything I've tried, clumps well, tracks about the same as clay litter, has very little dust, and the cats love it. Much better than world's best cat litter, which smells terrible and tracks yellow powder. Just remember to put plenty of litter in the box. It says at least three inches on the box, but I usually use at least five. I have three cats and this gets it done!

Comments about Swheat Scoop Natural Wheat Litter:

This litter works almost as well as the clumping clay litters. I'm very impressed with the odor control. The clumps can be a little soft and you won't like that if your only using a hand scooper to clean. I use a sifter and it works very well. It doesn't track any worse than clay litter and is much better than sawdust litter.

I've tried a couple of "natural" litters but my cats won't accept any of them. Swheat Scoop was no exception. I'm not sure if it was the texture or the smell that put them off, but they wouldn't use it at all.

--Everytime I would clean out Nero's litter box it would be stuck to the bottom and close to impossible to remove. It also produced a rank smell.
