I have a 1 year old lab/ pit mix that LOVES the Tuffy Shark. We try to give him a range of toy options, but he always goes to and carries around the shark. He does tear it to shreds after a day or two, but he loves it well enough to continue to replace them.

Generally he will 1) carry it around for a half hour, 2) sit down with it between his paws, 3) use his front teeth to unstitch it, 4) pull out the cotton and squeeker, 5) show me what he has done, 6) sit back down and continue to de-stitch it, 7) completely disassemble it, 8) show me his work, 9) carry it around until I trash it and give him another.

While the shark is not indestructible, it is well liked!

We have a large golden doodle puppy and a golden retriever who love to play. The shark is one of the best toys we have purchased. The shape fits in their mouths and can be easily carried around to show off to the other one. Toys usually last just days around here, but this one shows little sign of wear after 3 months of daily use. It is also easy to throw. It has surrived many tug of war games and days of being left in the back yard during a rain storm. Easy to toss in the washer for a quick clean up too. I'd definately buy the shark again!

I gave 2 labs each a shark tuffy. 1 lab was 9mos old and tore apart immediately. The other lab is 7yrs. old and also chewed right through it within an hour. Product is NOT Tough at all!

My 3 huskies that I have had over the years never played with any toy, in fact they would duck as if to say "why are you throwing things at me?" When a pit mix stray came along, we finally have a dog that will play with toys. She plays to destroy them and although these toys are not indestructible, they last a long time and even when they show wear, she continues to bring them to us and try to shove them in our hands to entice us to play with her.

Had one of these toys a year ago and it lasted 6 months before the dog chewed through most of it and thought that was great! This time, the dog had chewed two arms off the starfish that was rated an 8 in two days. Not as tough as advertised.

My 8 month old chocolate lab puppy really likes her "Octi." However, after 1 week of having the toy she already tore off one of the tenticles. The casing has wire and stuffing that is in the tenticles came out and could have cut her. Even after sewing the missing leg with quilting thread my puppy broke through that again. It's a cute toy but difficult to play with/throw.

In a matter of ten minutes, my dog had chewed a gaping hole in the top of the head and begin pulling the stuffing out. Though it's rated 7 on the tough scale, they put a hang tag on the top of the Pete's pus which was easily ripped out which allowed him to create the hole. Obviously a faulty design and I'm out [$].

these are great products stick with recommended # on chewing scale. i have 2 american bulldogs and they are major chewers i have a 10 also and they still have not destroyed it. these have small pieces that can be chewed off.

Nice and large toys for a large dog. The recipient was a golden retriever. A small dog might not be able to enjoy them.
