Canine CAS Options provides a nutritionally concentrated synergistic blend of Reishi, Maitake and Shiitake mushrooms, which are well researched and have been shown in numerous studies to be potent immune enhancers. The proteoglycans and polysaccharides from mushrooms have been shown to nutritionally assist the immune system, reduce inflammation and can stimulate natural killer (NK) and T-helper cell activity. Additionally, this formula includes strong antioxidants found in Coenzyme Q-10, Green Tea and Selenium. 120 tablets.
Overview:Cancer represents a unique state whereby the pets healing system fails to eliminate cells with damaged or altered DNA. This allows these cells to escape the normal regulatory signals, which leads to uncontrolled cell growth. We cannot control the air our pets breathe, but we can control the food our pets eat. We can provide our pets with antioxidants and bioflavonoids, compounds that help protect DNA and the immune system.
Spontaneous remission from cancer only occurs when the animals immune system acts to clear the cancer, therefore, stimulating the animals immune system is essential. Mushrooms have potent health-giving, anti-carcinogenic properties.
Conventional treatment for cancer in animals includes radiation, surgery, and immunosuppressive and cytotoxic drugs. Recently, the use of immunostimulating polysaccharides from mushrooms and free radical scavenger antioxidants have shown great promise in the treatment and remission of cancer in animal studies and human clinical trials. In Japan, clinical trials using conventional chemotherapeutic agents along with certain mushrooms not only inhibited tumor growth and regeneration, but also resulted in minimal side-effects from the toxic drugs.
Genesis Resources combines antioxidants such as Vitamins A, C, and E, Selemium, N-acetylcysteine, coenzyme Q10, green tea, and powerful Japanese mushrooms (shiitake, maitake, and reishi) in one great product. These Japanese mushrooms contain a wide range of active constituents including -1, 3-, -1, 4-, and -1, 6- beta glucans which stimulate macrophage (NK) cells and T-lymphocytes.
In addition, one should improve the quality of the diet by avoiding commercial foods, which contain carcinogens such as nitrites, pesticides, rancid fats and oils, and preservatives such as ethoxyquin. Many veterinary colleges are recommending a diet high in protein and fat, but low in carbohydrates. Such a diet could include the feeding of a diet rich in:Omega-3 fatty acidsRaw vegetables (broccoli, cabbage, and carrots)Easily digestible and metabolized proteins such as tuna, liver, cottage cheese, and eggsVegetable fats such as flax seed, olive, and avocado oilsComplex carbohydrates such as whole grains: buckwheat, quinoa, wild rice, and organic brown rice. Isoflavones from soy: baked tofu
Indications for Use:Mast cell tumorsSquamous carcinomas of the mouth, ears, and head areasSarcomas, melanomas, and lymphomaComplementary to surgery, radiation, and chemotherapyWhen clients want other options to cytotoxic drugsWhen clients cannot financially commit to an extended chemotherapeutic plan

Ingredients: A proprietary blend of Reishi Mushroom, Bone Meal, Shiitake Mushroom, Green Tea Powder, Microcrytalline Cellulose, Calcium Ascorbate, Gliceryl Monostearate, Maitake Mushroom, N-acetylcysteine, d-alpha tocopherol, Croscarmellose Sodium, Magnesium Sterate, Silica Dioxide, Ascorbyl Palmitate, Selenium, Vitamin A and Coenzyme Q-10.
What to Expect:With conventional treatment, a lessening of side effects, longer remission, and greater survival rates depending upon the severity of the tumors and duration of supplementation may be observed.
Without conventional treatment, regression or inhibition of tumor growth may be observed after a 6-8 week time frame. Longer survival rates and better quality of life may also be observed.
Dosage:Supplementation can begin with a high dosage until tumors regress and condition improves, after which, dosage can be reduced by 50% to maintain the health status.
Unless remission is longer than 6 months, it is recommended to continue giving these supplements to facilitate the functions of the immune system and help prevent recurrence.
Please keep in mind that response to herbal remedies varies by individual. If your pets symptoms worsen or change in any way that concerns you, discontinue use of any supplements and contact your veterinarian.
When introducing any new supplement, it is wise to start with a lower than recommended dose and build up over the course of several days to a week. Only introduce one supplement at a time.
