This is a really beautiful pole toy. Again, not your grandmother's cat toy. A small chain link holds the feathers on (which can be replaced?). My active cats luv this toy--makes my one tiger leap two feet into the air. I've never seen her so intent on chasing a toy before. Yeah, it flutters and spins with beautiful poultry feathers, looks like.

We spin Da Bird in the air for awhile first and then Da Bird will land for a moment before taking off again. After awhile, Marley catches Da Bird and carries it off to her hideout to play for awhile. She is very proud when she catches Da Bird.

My cat, Bogey, LOVES Da Bird!! He tends to be a couch potato, but when he sees Da Bird, he's up and running! He and I both love the twitchy-type bird movement and he cannot resist it! Who knew...I'm getting a little exercise as well!

My Persian cat is a doll and he can be fussy about everything. But the second I took this toy out of the shipping box, he went crazy for it. He went even wilder once we unwrapped the toy and started playing with it. He flew, he spun, he ran like crazy. He just had a ball and we all laughed because he was enjoying himself so much. And then he bit it, like cats do. There went one large feather, cut in half. Out, that went. He got a got 10-minute work out and already the toy was minus one of its major attractions. After one week, three feathers are history. I ordered replacement ends for the toy and I suggest you do, too. Cats love it but this toy isn't made for the rough play that cats love to do. So, I like the toy, but ....

I use the product to help my cats get used to playing with my dog under supervision. They are more tolerant of my dog trying to play with them when they are having fun. My cats love it. One of my cats will chase it until he hyperventilates from running around so much. The con is also the pro. It requires human interaction.

5 of my 6 cats were in the living room within seconds of twirling this around. They are mesmerized by it and I can see I need another one or else there may be some cat fights.

My cats love this toy. If I put it up they will sit in front of where I put it waiting for me to get it out again. I have 6 cats and they all enjoy it. Even the dog wants to play with it.

Our cats went wild for it, but after playing with it 3 to 4 times over the course of about 24 hours, the cats ripped the feathers from the wand such that another one cannot be attached to it. Too bad!

My cat sits by the closet waiting for me to get his feather on a stick toy. I like that the handle is long and the feathers look natural. Mr. Pumpkin runs and jumps to catch the feathers because they look so real. The reason I only gave this 4 stars is because the feathers fall out easily after the cat's gotten hold of them. While I'm not surprised, I get annoyed at losing the feathers once in a while.
